Onekwa, I googled it and found this --> 25 TV Things to get excited about in 2013

It says the Kevin Bacon show is The Following but no start time. Will update with that.
Thanks Boo! I'll have to search for it, maybe I can find it on Directv!

Lots of good ones listed here! I see some I'm going to have to check out.

Here are a few not mentioned.

Whenever I need to laugh I watch Freaks and Geeks. Love that show!
I also enjoy Leverage.

"The Following" premieres on Monday, January 21 on FOX.

I've seen lots of promos for it tonight.

Another vote for Sons of Anarchy. I watched the 1st 4 seasons in less than two weeks so I could be caught up for season 5 on TV. It sucked going from half a season a day to one episode a week. I would watch a new episode and want to point my remote at the TV to click next episode. Waiting a week was torture.

I also love Parenthood, Friday Night Lights, and 24. Is Scandal available on Netflix? I looked a while ago and could only find the most recent 5 episodes of season 2 on Hulu.

Portlandia is streaming two seasons on Netflix, it honestly is one of the funniest tv shows I've ever seen.

I am newly addicted to Netflix streaming! Vampire Diaries, Saving Grace, Eureka, Warehouse 13, Downton Abbey, and Weeds. Once I finish up with Weeds, I'm going to start on Mad Men.

I scanned the suggestions, so maybe I missed it...but I can't believe no one has mentioned Rescue Me.

That was the first series I watched on Netflix and I think I spent an entire weekend laying in bed watching all of them. I loved it so much I couldn't even start another series for a while afterward because I couldn't get the characters out of my head.

I finally backtracked and am watching the first season of Mad Men. I think we started watching during Season Two. It's been interesting to see how much the characters have developed from the beginning to where we picked up at. Also a very good show.

And you will *love* Sons of Anarchy. It's one of my very favorites.

I just finished watching all the episodes of Suits. It starts back again next week on USA. I really liked it. It was on one of the on demand channels.

I was just looking at Netflix to see if Whote Collar was on as the previews shown during Suits made it look good. That's going to be my next one.

I've watched the first 3 episodes of Breaking Bad after seeing this thread and I just don't get it. Do I need to keep watching?

Teddy, I tried Breaking Bad right after my Rescue Me marathon...and I didn't get it either. I thought maybe it was because it just wasn't comparing to Rescue Me and I'd try again later. Maybe not, though.

Thanks to the Peas who suggested Friday Night Lights!

We've watched:
The Sopranos
24
Lost
Breaking Bad
Sons of Anarchy
The Mentalist
Nurse Jackie
Prison Break

We're about 7 episodes into FNL and we love it!

Here are my suggestions:

Scandal
Pretty Little Liars
Suits
Castle
Dexter
Sex and the City

I tried watching Boardwalk Empire, but could not make it through the first episode. It had an interesting look and feel but I found it rather tedious.

Watched Downton Abbey and could not figure out why all the love. It was rather boring until near the end of the first season. Second season was okay. Third season dragged but the ending was interesting.

Homeland. Overrated. Portions of it was interesting, but overall, it dragged for me. Will check in on Season 3 just to see where they will take it from there.

Game of Thrones...read the first two books and really looked forward to watching the series. After watching two seasons, I'm no longer interested in the series at all. I tired of it and do not like the gratuitous sex scenes that add nothing to the series (in the book and the show).

Saw two episodes of Breaking Bad and Made Men each and really loved them. However, not sure if I will continue watching both series. Maybe I burned out on the Downton Abbey and Homeland marathon when I was sick and overdosed on TV. LOL!

Thanks for all the other suggestions, ladies. I will have to check them out.

I just joined Netflix last week so I can catch up on all these great shows, like Downton Abbey, Justified, etc but hardly any of them are available on streaming...grrrr!

We just finished season 1 of Breaking Bad last night and it is GREAT.

We loved, loved loved Friday Night Lights. And Weeds, True Blood and Dexter. I liked The Tudors a lot, DH not so much.

On my must-see list:
Downton Abbey
Justified
Sons of Anarchy
American Horror Story

And I'm exctied for that new show The Americans, and the new Kevin Bacon one on FX.

Personally I'm addicted to Vampire Diaries.

Many of the ones mentioned here a favorites as well;
Breaking Bad
SOA
Downtown Abby

and I recently finished the first 3 seasons of Nurse Jackie. I also really loved watching those. The fun thing about NJ is that the episodes are quite short, about 1/2 hour, so it's easy to catch an episode here and there.
