I was craving pizza bad enough that I decided to brave the storm and went to Costco on a Saturday!

OMG! I was there yesterday about 1 pm and had to wait in line behind 3 people. And I thought that was bad. Never on a Saturday!

Yikes! I went to Target the day after Christmas because I HAD to get wrapping paper 50% off. It looked very similar to your picture. Went back a week later before work & everything was 70% off. There was nobody there and they had restocked so there was even MORE stuff. I was mad.

I try to never go to Costco or Ikea on the weekend. I went to Joann's for fabric today. Bad move. I'm now adding that to my no weekend list! I had to wait for over 10 people to have their fabric cut before it was my turn!!!!

I was driving around trying to find a parking spot and gave up after about 10 minutes, but as I was leaving the parking lot someone pulled out so I took their place. I almost didn't get pizza!

OMG I went today too. For milk! And I don't even drink milk I must really love my DH.

It was worse than I've EVER seen it. No cart at all in front of the store. Lines 10 people long. Then the person in front of me has eleventy billion things and then couldn't find her card. Then tried to pay with a Visa gift card. Then used the wrong pin for their debit card. I about committed assault there and then.

Never again. Until next Saturday. Just one of the many joys of working full time. Costco on the weekends.

True story - we moved from a small town (with basically no shopping) to Dallas. Our 2nd day here, we went to Costco. On a Saturday. I texted my DD about it and her reply pretty much was "have you lost all common sense? What were you thinking?"

Ours is like that all the time now and we just had a newer one built 1 1/2 hours away to take some of our pressure.

I have never seen my Costco that busy, Saturday or otherwise. My kids love going on Saturday so they can sample things. No way I'm going to tell them they sample during the week when I go by myself too.

I agree with never going to IKEA on a Saturday. It's crazy.

I have to admit one thing I love about being a SAHM is being able to shop mid week early in the day. It is so much nicer to be able to avoid the stores in the weekend!

We tried to go to Costco today. Why did I not know that they close at 6pm on Saturdays??? That just seems crazy to me!! So now I have to go tomorrow and Sundays are usually pretty bad at Trader Joe's (which I also have to go to). ugh.

The only way to go to Costco on a Saturday is to be there at 9:30 and out by 10:00.

Costco on a Saturday is a very scary place to be! We try to get there during the week at about 3:00. There usually isn't anyone there.

Ha ha we went today too.. it was really crowded! We usually go on saturday, it's the only day we can really do it, and it's not usually that bad. We had a theory: everyone is buying healthy stuff because they made new year's resolutions to eat healthier.

You should have seen the line just to get OUT the door!
Luckily they had lots of cashiers so our wait time to check out was... oh, it was nothing. We did not have to wait. Walked right up and got checked out. But then we had to wait to leave.

We have a cash and carry that I like a lot more. It is a restaurant supply that is open to the public.

I went to Costco last Wednesday and it looked like that. It was totally wierd.

I avoid Costco on a Saturday.

My highlight though was while i was standing in a line like the picture you showed, there was a guy with a black satin jacket that said "mama tits" in big sparkly letters on the back. He was like 6'4 and at least 50. Kept me entertained wondering what would possess someone to get a jacket like that.

I picked up photos once on a Saturday... it was horrifying.

I try to never go to Costco or Ikea on the weekend.
Actually, do you when the best time to go to IKEA? First thing on Saturday or Sunday morning. The restaurant opens 30 minutes before the store, so have breakfast for a buck (coffee is free before the store opens), then as soon as you're finished it's time for the store to open. And it's sooooo quiet. The quiestest I've ever seen the store at any time during the week. Any time I go to IKEA, I plan it for first thing on a weekend morning. You couldn't pay me to go at any other time on the weekend. I may be insane but not THAT insane.

But seriously. IKEA breakfast... the best time to go.

I'm still here

You Saturday Costco shoppers are crazy! (and, certainly not faint of heart!)

The only thing worse than Costco on a Saturday is Costco the week of a major holiday.

it's so funny how I completely avoid crowds now...

My husband and I say that's how we know we are getting old - - crowds make us cranky.

I use to love the crowds shopping for the holidays. Now I avoid them like the plague. I did 90% of my shopping on-line this year for that very reason.

Ooooh...that's scary!!!

Several years ago they built a Costco about 10 minutes from our house. My DH has a membership through work. I've never gone. Every time I drive by and look at the parking lot I know it's not a place for me. I get so overwhelmed by huge stores like that. I also stay away from Sam's Club, and I cringe when I have to venture into the super Wal-Mart.

FYI--That avatar is NOT me; it's NOT my DH; it's NOT my father; and, I'm NOT related to him by blood or marriage. It's just a dude...wearing a Wal-Mart bag.

When I go I arrive 10 minutes before they open, get in line, get my stuff and get out by the time they've been open 35 minutes. I went back one time a few hours later to get something my MIL needed and it was a freaking ZOOOOO! I will never, ever do that again!

I miss Costco. (Well, not the crowds.) The rumor is that they are *supposed* to build one in my podunk town. We'll see. In the meantime, we have to drive 1-1/2 hr away to get to the nearest one and have to go on Saturdays or Sundays. Ugh. Not fun.

The one we used to go to in Southlake, TX drew people from Southlake, Westlake, Keller, Grapevine, Trophy Club, North Forth Worth, The Alliance area plus a gazillion other little cities. Saturdays and Sundays were insane.

Fortunately, my husband drove by it every day to go to work, so I'd just text him with my list and he'd stop and do the shopping on his way home. We'd usually only go on the weekends if we were desperate (actually Friday nights weren't too bad - they were open till 8:30)) or needed gas. They often had the best gas prices in the area.

I just said "no" to Costco yesterday. I needed a large clamshell of salad for a percussion dinner but picked it up at Fresh and Easy instead. I know I paid a bit more and got a bit less, but I couldn't face standing in line for one item.

I wish they had a 5 items or less line.

We went yesterday and it was super crowded. I didn't think about it being the first weekend of the month but now that makes sense. We go often on weekends. The least crowded time to go in on a week night about 8PM. My dh is pretty good about stopping to pick something up too.

I hate going to Costco. It seriously gives me anxiety. But I like having a stocked pantry and we save tons if money so we go, but I refuse to do it though my DH along for the ride . We went yesterday and it was surprisingly not at all busy. Thank goodness because that picture makes me twitch.

It's not the people I mind- it's all the big carts that people leave in the middle of the aisle while they are getting free samples.

We were there yesterday too! It wasn't horrible because we were with friends, so we just chatted the whole time. I'm not even sure how long we were in line because we just talked with friends. But I feel like Costco was pretty efficient. I picked the shortest line and we probably waited 5-10 minutes to check out.

We go once a year to buy socks. That's it. That's why we go with friends. They have the membership. We used to have a membership, but once I categorized the place as a money-pit, we didn't renew. Now we literally go once a year for socks and that's it.

I won't go on a Saturday unless I can get there right before they open. I usually try and go on a week day around 3:30 or 4:00...or even better, send dh. He will stop on his way home from work. He's a list shopper, so he isn't tempted to browse and buy other stuff.

We have a cash and carry that I like a lot more. It is a restaurant supply that is open to the public.

We have one, but it's a bit of a pit. It also doesn't have nearly the variety that Costco has.

Huh. Ours is never that busy and it's apparently the biggest Costco in the world. We do have more open cashiers than any other Costco I've been to, so many that's why - because there are ALWAYS tons of people shopping. The lines just aren't too bad.

Ours is only 7 minutes away so we go often. It was crowded on Saturday, but the lines can be long when we get there, then short 20 min. later. We go for the samples, fruit and cheap sodas/berry smoothies. I guess ours is pretty good with handling crowds. We love Costco!

The long lines are the reason I bought stock in Costco! It's had a great run and I hope it continues.
