Hello Peas!

We will be driving to Florida in the near future - on I75 from Detroit to Orlando. We've allowed for some additional time so that we can stop along the way. My first choice for a rest stop would be a good old wander around a fabulous LSS!

I would appreciate any & all suggestions of must-see places say within 15 mi of I-75.

TIA!

I can't remember if I-75 takes you through Lexington, KY? If it does, you want to get off at Man-O-War Blvd and go in the direction of all the shopping. I'm pretty sure if you are coming from the north, you need to turn right. When you get to Maple Leaf, turn left and go right into the shopping center. There is a scrapbook store in there called Lasting Legacy. I really like it and go in every time I in that area. They have quite a bit of stuff in there and most of the time they are really friendly. I've had a few times though when they were really rude, just depends on who's working that day. Have a great trip!

Forgot to add: It's not very far down Man-O-War, only a couple of miles. In the huge shopping center right off 75, Hamburg Plaza, there are lots of other stores and lots of places to eat if you want to make that a good pit stop.

Unfortunately, there aren't as many LSS's here in the south as there used to be. I'm near Chattanooga and my LSS of choice is in Knoxville (off I-40). My next choice is Archiver's in Kennesaw (Marrietta), GA, which is north of Atlanta. Hope you can hit some good stores.

Lasting Legacy in Lexington, KY is not that far from I-75, but I wouldn't call it must-see. It's the only LSS we have but its small and so somewhat limited on what they can carry. I would say hit the Archiver's near Cincinnati. I think it may be up near Mason, OH.

The one in Knoxville, TN is not that far off the interstate. You could check the directions on Google Maps and see how long it would take to get there. I have not been to it, but my DM has and she really likes it. Scrappin In the City

I never thought it was small. We used to have 3 scrapbook stores here, and it's bigger than any of them were. I guess it just depends what you're used to. It's a good store to stop and see anyway, since it's fairly close to the highway.

I think one of the nicer LSS stores in Orlando is closing or already closed. I would suggest you call and make sure they are still there before driving there.

I love Lasting Legacy--and I never would consider it small. It's the largest one (and the one that's remained open) of all the LSS we have in the area. Christi, the owner, has worked really hard in the last two years at carrying some great lines. She does carry more paper than embellishments, but that must be what works for her!

I think it's worth a stop if you want to break up a trip.

I'm in northwest ohio, the only scrap store left around here is about 25 miles from I-75. If you want to go that far, it's Scrap Happy in Tiffin.

Ditto Lasting Legacy. I think this month they are honoring competitors coupons. If you're looking for a spot to eat, there's tons of stuff there too (Saul Good is a local yummy spot).

There's also a LSS in Georgetown, KY. Close to the intersection of 25 and Main Street, but it is small.

There's also an ikea close to the Archivers in Cincy!

Sorry, duh, I should have given the name of the store in Knoxville (Scrappin in the City). Thank you lovetodigi. It's a great store. It's not huge, but always has the latest and greatest. Very friendly too!

I was also going to suggest Lasting Legacy in Lexington. It's a great store with a good selection. I'm in there several times a month, as much as DH and my wallet allow. I'm really excited for the coupon matching every day this month!

I'm pleasantly surprised to see so many recommend Lasting Legacy! Are there really that many local peas!?!

My local loss just posted their annual treasure hunt info. Although the specific store is out of your way, several of the stores listed are not.

I thought it could give you a point of reference as to what stores are still open as some in Orlando have recently closed.

Hope it helps

I saw someone mentioned She Scrapbooks already. It is a really nice store. Located in The Villages in Florida. Here is a link to their facebook page. I couldn't find a website:

https://www.facebook.com/Shescrapbooks

In Orlando per say, the only LSS I have been to which is really nice is Scrappy Boutique. Worth a visit.

Their is a great Ikea right here in Orlando near Millenia Mall.

Enjoy the drive!
