Tanx, Melissa. You've reminded me that I could have increased the illusion of layering...
If I had masked the bird image & smudged a bit of ink on its right side it would look like a 'cast shadow'.
Gonna add the tip to the masking thread. |

Great, great tags Kathy and Daniel!
Christinmay, you did send mine protected by a cereal box! It worked great. Taradid sent me one the same way definitely helps keep them from getting smooshed.
Caribbeangirl and Christinmay yours are headed to you today! |

Wow cereal box is a GREAT idea!!!
CGirl--I ~was~ going to hang each tag up on my crafting door--but the one I have tried that with keeps falling off----SO
I thought I'd keep all the tags on a ring and hang it somewhere---maybe a cork board---BUT then what about everyone's instructions....
SO
now I think I am going to take an empty binder I have and make pages and/or use page covers and make a "book of tags and techniques."
I too am interested in what others are doing!

I didn't know we were supposed to send instructions
LeighAnn do you want me to drop my instructions in the mail tomorrow? I'm so sorry! |

Got my tag from 'SweetlyMade'!
While it looks 'simple' (& lovely), wait 'til you see how she did the baker's twine around the heart! Excellent workmanship! |

When I was making my tag, I was in a very simplistic, minimlistic (spelling?) mood, so it definitely reflected with this month's tag. I'm very much a "mood scrapper," if you will. I will upload my tag by Thursday night. I have to say Daniel, the bakers twine technique is something I've been wanting to try and that tag was my first attempt!

LOL, Heather! Are you saying you were feeling 'simple minded'?
You (& others) raise an excellent point about trying techniques. A swap/challenge like this one is a great way to try out new (to us) techniques & such--even if/when the host doesn't include them in her 'tweaks & twists'. |

I'm glad you enjoyed my February tag Kathy!
Here it is: February tag
Kathy, what I am doing with the tags is putting them into a 3-ring binder so it's like a book of tags. I adhere two tags per page, with the instructions everyone sends with the tag, put behind the tag page.
Thank you LeighAnn for a fun February tag swap!! Looking forward to March now! |

Back atcha on the Inspiration, Heather. It's definitely a two-way street.
We're only two months into this swap & already I've gotten loads of ideas from seeing others' creations.
Plus... I am so happy that we're making an effort to share lots of info when we upload to the gallery. For instance... If Melissa hadn't shared that she did a 2EF on her piece, I wouldn't have known. Photos have limitations that comments help explain.
We can all take a bow this month! |

Hello folks - Hope everyone is staying warm!
Howdy Heidi your tag is going out today (Saturday, 2/2), so it should make it to you by the 2/5. I wanted to use a stamp that I had that was a realistic heart and some Day of the Dead skeleton-type people with a saying along the lines of "My heart skipped a beat for you" but of course I could not find the stamp in all my chaos! I had to switch gears and boy, did it take longer to figure out where I wanted to go with your tag. So I was almost finished with tag #2, when I found that pesky heart stamp - arrgh!!! I might just have to make an atc with that stupid heart, just to get the image/idea out of my system.
Do other folks find themselves switching gears when working on a project or am I the only unorganized stamper that can't find what they are looking for out there?
Anyhow, I am looking forward to having some time this weekend to look at everyone's tags and do some heavy duty admiring! ~Tara |

'Carribe'. Successful link; great tag!
Tara. Yeah you are unique, but that's talent not switching gears. I guarantee you that all of us have done numerous gear-switching. And many don't even include not finding a something we wanted to use.
For me? What's really rare is going from concept to completion without any sort of gear-switching. |

Taradid, I often switch directions with projects. And usually it's because I can't find what I'm looking for!
Caribbeangirl, I loved the tag! I'm glad you were able to link it for all to see!
Daniel, I almost never end up completing a project in the direction that I originally intended too . |

LOL & ROTFLMAO! Just had a great landline with 'Beady' (Kathy). She got the tag I made for her & has promised to send me a jpeg so I can upload it to my gallery & link it to this thread.
Who knew she has 'clown phobia'?! Anyone ever watch Stephen King's "It!"? I swear I didn't use a 'Bad Bozo' stamp...
Can't wait to post it & hear her response!
BTW? Her cast is off & she's doing better. Sounds like she has a great doctor! |

Beady (Kathy) sent the jpeg & I uploaded the tag creepy clown tag.
The addition of the beads to edge the heart punchout was a last minute idea. I really like the way it turned out.
And I kind of understand what Kathy's saying. The clown's eyes are a bit penetrating... |

I love the creepy clown tag, except for the clown stamp! I am totally freaked out by clowns, especially after watching "It" when I was younger (what kind of parents let their 7-year-old watch scary movies!?)! I'm getting the heebie jeebies thinking about clowns....
Seriously though, the tag is lovely-I just picture a big heart instead of that-which-shall-not-be-named!

I am glad the tag arrived Heidi! I apologize for not including the directions - my wireless printer and laptop are still having trouble communicating with each other. The directions are with the tag in my gallery. Let's see how I do trying to add the link this month!
February Tag - "Queen of Hearts"
I just want everyone to know that I did have to eat some candy to get the wrappers to use in creating this tag. I am more than willing to do this again in the future if my art requires it!
I will go back and add the tag info that everyone was talking about once I find it again in our tag threads. |

WTG, Beady!
Wanna hear a 'funny'?
I've shared pix of my monthly tags with other groups to which I belong. On several, 'creepy clown' has gotten huge compliments. Several posters have said it's my 'best they've seen'! Go figure! And the owner of I Brake For Stamps wants to put it on her site--they mfg'd the clown stamp. Such fun....
Offered to do one for her--same clown; different version of the tag. |
