So I never did a kit club -- then last summer I got sucked into the SC subscription - and I have to admit I like it. I have tried products and items on my layouts that I never would have bought otherwise. But I keep seeing references to Shimelle's kits here and want to learn more. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I don't.
I'd rather spend the $ on materials I choose. I have yet to see a kit club that has even 50% Kits that I like.

For the first time in years, I am no longer subbing... well, except for CD stamp sub. I've loved subbing for lots of reasons, but it was time for a little break. I'm excited to shop for things that truly speak to me.

I think kits are actually less popular now than they were some years ago...far fewer choices now. Studio Calico really leads the pack tho because of their popularity, so they seem in the "spotlight" even if fewer of us overall are subbing.

I belonged years ago to scrapologie (anyone?) and My favorite memories...both now long closed. I used them to build my stash; less to "craft from a kit". Being in Canada, I received lots of items I couldn't buy locally.

It's been several years since I subscribed to a kit club before canceling them. It just seemed like so many of the kits focused on the girly stuff... pinks, purples, flowers. All great stuff if you have little girls. I mostly scrap photos of my DS & DH, so they just weren't working for me. When I would get a masculine kit, it would be for little boys, trains, cards, bugs, ect. My DS is 12 now so none of those things work for him. And besides Christmas & birthdays I don't do much themed scrapbooking either, so I'd need something that would work well with everyday photos.

I am interested in possibly subbing to a mixed media or journal art kit club, new forms of art for me I like the Scarlet Lime kits, but again, lot's of girly, girly stuff. Studio Calico is another kit club I've been eyeing. I'm still on the fence with that one. I'm not completely opposed to joining another scrapbook kit club, but it would definitely have to be one that has less flowers & girly stuff and much more teen/manly masculine stuff, if that makes any sense?! LOL

I've been scrapping for 18 years. Never joined a kit club. Part of the excitement for me is to find papers from different manufacturers that will work well together.

Same here, been scrapping for ages and never joined any kit club. Would rather pick my own papers and embellishments. Don't do Project Life either, but I guess that's another thread.

I don't subscribe to any kit clubs. But I do the Counterfeit Kit. I love that site!! I have so much stash I take the challenge to construct a kit as close as possible to the kit they choose. I love their tutorials too. In the end I have a full kit, made completely from my stash. Then I pretend it is a kit that I bought and challenge myself to use the items in it.

This has helped me to re-discover stuff I forgot I had and use it in new combinations.

I will also do the new Scrap Stash Kit Club organized by the pea paperpilekitten

I don't subscribe, mostly because if I work out the.cost over a year it seems so much (even though I probably spend the same amount on other stash!) I like one-off kits like the one Shimelle does at Christmas. And lately I have been enjoying trying to make kits from my own stash and mixing up different lines.

I haven't gotten a kit in about 4 years now. I do like kits. I like getting things I might not have picked because I can 'make it work' for my style and photos.

When I first started scrapping in 2000 I joined Club Scrap for 2 years-ish. It was perfect for my love of stamping and cardstock.

I joined Studio Calico when they first started. I think I was a subscriber for about 18 months. I loved trying to use more patterned papers and embellishments because of the SC kits. The price was good too because I don't like to shop.

I'd join a kit again. I just don't scrap fast enough to use a kit before the next one comes. I love getting a kit but I end up with a bigger stash not more projects done.

I did once and it didn't get used. I'd rather buy what I want rather than be stuck with other peoples ideas of what I like.

I don't- I can't commit to spending $25+ every month on scrappy supplies, and a lot of the kits I've seen have stuff included that I don't like or wouldn't use. I do lurk on the Counterfeit Kit site every month, though and get ideas for making my own.

I have never subscribed to one. I do love the Counterfeit Kit Club Challenge blog which is totally free.
