With all the commotion about PL kits being live on Amazon finally, and Becky Higgin's new kit sneak peeks, I'm curious as to how you do your Project Life. Do you buy a pre-made (i.e. BH) kit? Do you shop your stash or use your supplies form your non-PL kit clube? Have you joined the Citrus Twist or Sutdio Calico PL kit clubs?
I haven't started PL, and I'm not sure if I want to, but I am overwhelmed by my options. I love the idea of shopping my (giagantic) stash, but those BH kits are just so darn cute! But, wouldn't I get bored from having all my pages look more or less the same? But, the cohesiveness of the graphcis and color scheme is great!
See, there's always a "but"! |

I am currently subscribed to the Citrus Twist kit and love it. However, I may not be able to continue for financial reasons. Then I will be shopping my stash and stalking blogs! |

I'm starting this month. I don't plan on using any PL kits. I'll get my inspiration from the galleries and use my own stash. |

My option is not in the poll, LOL.
I'm using the Simple Stories "Sn@p!" line. I bought gobs of it so it'll keep me going until the new stuff comes out from CHA in March. I'm supplementing a tiny bit with some free printables I found that match Sn@p perfectly.
I might eventually buy the BH "Honey" addition as it matches Sn@p really well too, from what I can tell on the computer I just love the bright fun colors of these lines and they match well with the photos I take and our lifestyle. |

I tried to vote, but nothing happened. Anyway...I do a hybrid version of PL. I do all my journaling on the computer and print out my journal cards. I do own some of the PL kits in digital, but I also have a gazillion other digi kits and supplies. My album is a real hodgepodge and I love that about it. When some of the new BH kits are available in digi, I will absolutely buy them.

I'm definitely a stash shopper when it comes to Project Life! I tried using just a single PL kit one year, and I was sick of using the same supplies week after week by June! (No offense to those who use just the kits- I see lots of gorgeous PL albums done both ways!) I'm much happier shopping my stash.
That being said, I'm in love with the Seafoam and Olive kit editions- I just wish there was a way to buy a smaller pack (like just 1-2 of each design) of the cards without having to buy a year's worth!
One of the things that I about PL, though, is that whether you like to use a kit or shop your stash, there are options for everyone. |

I am using Seafoam as my palette but I am stamping some of my own cards and using a bit of digital as well. If I end up bored, I will absolutely add other things!

I have tried both ways (PL kit and making my own). After using a kit, I won't go back. The only way PL works for me is if I simplify it. For me, that means having a kit to quick pull together layouts. I love that I simply have to add dates to the title card, journal, print pics and slip it all in. These simple steps allow me to keep up with the project. However, whenever I have a bit more time, I can always add embellishments to my layouts.
The one year I made my own kit...I didn't completely finish the album until two years later ...

I mix and match, mostly 6x6 paper pads with PL 3x4 cards. I have a couple different core kits, though, so I can mix and match. Early on I used just a core kit and didn't like the way it looked.

I'm like you. At first it was so overwhelming. So much so that I bought a kit last year. And never used it. However, I did spend tons of time on the net drooling over other people's PL pages.
This year I am using a BH kit. The Olive kit to be exact. But like you, I'm afraid that it will look redundant after a while. So I will use my own stash here and there. I intend to use the stamps that I have hoarded, uh, collected. I will stay with the same color scheme to keep the look cohesive. But I don't want my album to look like the 10,000 other PL'ers using the Olive kit.
I also subscribed to the SC PL Kit. Mostly for the stamps! But I will be using some of it for this year. The rest I will be using it to catch up with my 2012 PL album that never came to fruition.
There are so many options out there. I intend to keep it as manageable as possible so that I won't quit.

I used my stash for 2013.
Last year I used a Project Life kit that I bought for 2011 and never used. I love using the kit. I put all of my things in when I get the kit so I only had to take out the card, journal, and drop in my pictures. It made everything so easy. I don't mind the repetition of the cards because the pictures make everything look different.
I love my kit this year that I made with my stash. I am actually still working on it. I have a ton of corners that need to be rounded.
I am going to buy a project life kit for our Disney trip this year. We have gone to Disney many times so I don't want to do a scrapbook album for this trip. I think PL will be perfect for what I want and I can make scrapbook layouts for my favorite pictures. |

Since this is my first year doing a traditional PL, I will be using a kit
I wanted to keep it as simple as I could
I did the digital version last year and loved it so much I wanted to attempt the traditional book with a kit |

I started with a cobalt kit last year, got tired of it, and ended up cutting up cards from my SC kit backlog and other stash. This year I am subscribed to the sc kit. I also just ordered a baby boy kit and a mini-album from Becky to do a baby book for my upcoming grandson!
I have to say, though, that I really didn't scrap many traditional layouts last year. I got my creative outlet by making each of my cards like a mini-layout, which means I spent a LOT of time on each weekly spread. Don't think I am going to do that this year, so it really just depends on your time, your needs and what you want!

I use a core kit + my stash and am starting the Citrus Twist PL kit this month.
I ended up finding someone to split Seafoam with since I'll have so many other supplies on hand this year. |
