Just curious. I would like to, but afraid I wouldn't be able to keep up. Not sure I would have that many pics to take. I don't always take pics even once a week! If you don't do PL, why?

I don't do PL because I know I wouldn't keep up with it and then it would just stress me out. I do try to scrap my everyday activities because of what I've seen of PL, but doing PL itself is just not for me.

I tried to do a similar project and gave up on it. Just like I've never been able to keep even a one line daily journal. I guess I"m just not a daily person.

I don't do PL, and have no interest in it. I try to hit the big things with my scrapbooking - vacations, family gatherings - don't really have time for the everyday -- plus my life is way too boring to scrap the everyday.

I don't do it either. I do good to get pages in my regular scrapbooks done so I know I wouldn't be able to keep up with a PL album.

That would be me. My life is too boring to scrap every single day.
|Posted: 1/9/2013 8:14:15 PM|I did it last year for the first time. I have one week left to complete and it will be done. I actually LOVE the end result. I never had the problem of not enough pictures, usually just the opposite. I still did some regular scrapping last year along with it. I've just gotten burned out on it. I love the look of some of the new kits I just can't get excited about it this year. My intent is to take this year off and do it again next year. I will say Project Life is the album my 8 year old son has sat down to look through the most this year. In fact, I haven't told him I'm not doing it this year so he won't try to change my mind!!

|Posted: 1/9/2013 8:16:29 PM|I tried (and failed) PL in 2009 and I'm trying it again this year, but I didn't even attempt it in 2010, 2011, or 2012. I was too busy and knew that I wouldn't be able to keep up with assembling it - which is why I failed in 2009.
But I've made efforts to organize my home, life, and schedule to the point where I decided I could attempt it this year.
I don't always take pics even once a week!
I think a lot of people who do PL find that, even if this was true before, PL *makes* them take more photos - I think that's part of the point of it. To make you see your everyday life with fresh eyes, to appreciate "the little things", to document and in a way celebrate the stuff that would never make it onto a layout ... because it's not a holiday, birthday, event, or somehow layout worthy.
But with PL, things you may have always thought of as "boring" or not worth documenting are actually interesting because it's YOUR life You live it in a way that no one else does. Your regular Starbucks order, brand of shampoo, car you drive, places you shop, conversations you have, movies you see, books you read, how your dog made you smile, the habit your 7-year-old has, the quote you found important enough to Tweet, etc.
May seem like typically boring stuff but I bet if you documented it all with PL, you and even your kids, friends, etc. would find it very interesting!
And that's why I wanted to do PL

I cannot finish a DD until the next year, there is no way I have the time to keep up with PL. I sat down with my time schedule and there are no hours in the day. I get less than 1 hour a week to scrap with all the other things in life. I just don't have the time, period.

I could never be successful at Project Life and though I love lots of the kits and journaling cards... I refuse to subject myself to failing something else -- I just finished my 2011 December Daily! I don't have one pic or journaling spot in my 2010 DD, though the album is all made. More power to the peas who can do it. Also, I think I've seen enough of Nicol Magourik's awesome PL and stamped journaling cards that mine would never be good enough. I'll stick with scrapping!

I don't do project life. Did it in 2009 and got through October. It is just too much work. I'd rather spend my time doing LOs which I didn't really have time to do during PL.
If you are on the fence, try it for a month. I've done everyday in May. I've also done 12 on 12 (where you take 12 pictures on the 12th of every month). That is enough every day for me, but somethings that you could try if you want to see if PL is your thing.
|Posted: 1/9/2013 9:08:02 PM|
I don't. I tried it last year but it wasn't for me I was struggling with the pictures and things to right about. It was depressing thinking my life is so boring.
|Posted: 1/9/2013 9:09:43 PM|
I never have and I never will!! My kids are all grown and I would rather catch the highlights of their lives and the lives of their children on 12x12 pages. It gives me so much joy to create LOs since it is a stress reliever from caring for my two elderly relatives. I would never be able to take that many pictures to full up a weekly diary!!!

I don't. I like to just make LO's when I have some photos I really like, usually one or two, and I can do it when the fancy strikes me, as opposed to having to "keep up" with something. And if I have a few photos from an event, I just make a mini album.

I'm not. I would like to but I'm afraid, like you, that i'll fall behind horribly. I had started a December Daily like 3 days before December and i never even put any pictures or journaling in it. Nevermind the fact that when my Dh was synching my new phone to the computer i LOST all the pictures that were on my phone and the notes that went along with the pictures I did manage to take. But now i look at it and i've got a DD that is already to go for this 2013 christmas.
I like the idea of PL but even doing it once a week seems so daunting. and buying all the stuff to go with it. Kits vs no kits, making your own journaling cards vs buying them. ugh it just involved WAY to much thinking for me.

I'm not doing it either. I love the concept and I LOVE all of the kits. I wish all of the kits I've seen on-line were in the stores, because I'm a person who likes to see and touch something new before I dive in. My daily life isn't that interesting and my DS is 24 so no little kid stuff. I love making full layouts too and know I couldn't keep up day to day. I have too many "real life" issues I'm dealing with and PL would just add stress. lol

Not me. This year, like most, I have too many holiday photos to scrap without worrying about 2013 at the same time. I think I gave it a try for a week one year, but since I didn't have a PL kit, I wasn't inspired to figure out the layout for that week, and felt no joy in trying to repeat that 52 times.
|Posted: 1/10/2013 12:23:13 AM|
I don't. My life is probably interesting enough with four kids and all the activities we do as a family, but I could never keep it up (I only did 10 days of JYC!).
From reading posts and looking at blogs it's seems the ones that keep up and complete PL are the ones that print from home. I don't even have a printer, and stopping at Walgreen's once a week is just one more hurdle to overcome.
I have contemplated doing a spread once a month, but I won't buy the kits. I'll just use my stash.

Right now I'm thinking of taking January off, and then getting back into it in February -- either at the beginning of the month or with my daughter's birthday (Feb. 22). Life is frustrating and overwhelming right now, and it feels like with my photos I'm repeating myself from last year, which I'm still catching up on. I think with a break I'll be itching to get back at it, and my new Seafoam kit will be here by then too. I may change my mind, but right now I just feel really worn down, and getting my daily/weekly photos is feeling like a chore. I'm also working on catching up from last year, and I'm hoping by February my 2012 albums will have fewer blank spots.

Love the look. Love the idea. Couldn't do it.
I don't have a printer at home, and getting stuff printed weekly would be too costly. And inconvenient. I'd never keep up. That and I don't like 12x12. It's just too big for me.
Having said that, I do you pocketed page protectors in my 8.5x11 albums. I use baseball card sleeves whenever I have lots of photos that don't necessarily need a lot of story. I also use some A4 page protectors that hold 4x6 photos. I just cut them down slightly to fit in my albums and end up with 2 4x6 and 2 4x4 pockets per side. I often use these to make mini layouts for stuff I want to include but don't necessarily want to make an entire layout about.
|Posted: 1/10/2013 1:10:35 AM|
I think it is a fun idea. But, I'm too busy with work and life. I want to spend my time scrapping my kids and grand kids right now . So no interest in it at all.

If you're on the fence, or wanting a bit of the "everyday life" scrapping, what about doing the "Week In The Life" project? Same thing, more than one photo a day, but only a week. There are some great WITL albums out there.
I do PL, and love the everyday nature of it. Before, our only scrapbooks had us dressed up or in front of a monument. I would love to have an everyday record of our first year married back in 1981, for example. I don't know if I'll do it every year, but I've enjoyed the ones I've done.

I did it the first year it came out and was known as Project 364 in 2009. I thought about doing it again this year but decided against it. I don't have the time to keep up with that and do my other scrapping stuff so I decided not to get into it.

I don't because I know there is no way I would keep up, either with pictures or with weekly/daily scrapping.
I think my regular albums do a great job of capturing out lives. I know I can't document every last moment, and I'm ok with that.

I don't either. I can't even keep up with my house cleaning doubt I could do a page a day! Like the other person said I like doing full page layouts when I can find time toget to them.

I like the concept but I don't do it either. No way do I have time to scrap everyday (I wish) or even every week. And, if I do have the time, I don't want to spend it scrapping the ordinary. I have too many other projects I'd like to get done. Maybe someday when I'm more "caught up" but not anytime soon.

|Posted: 1/10/2013 7:02:13 AM|I am finding that I have started to dread "daily" projects. I had a really stressful (although wonderful) year last year, and this year I just need to chill a bit and take things at my own pace. Since my scrapping is supposed to be a fun creative outlet for me, I am sticking with my "Project ME" thing. I am just trying to make sure I get the basics and get them all in one album by the end of the year. I am finding that in the process of NOT stressing about it, I am actually remembering to stop and take note of the little things. Funny, isn't it?

I don't, it's just not my style. I have considered putting one divided page per month to document random tidbits, but would never do a daily/weekly PL.
That being said, I embrace all styles of scrapping and applaud those that do PL!
|Posted: 1/10/2013 8:53:21 AM|
I don't do it in the traditional sense anymore. I did it for two years, doing a picture-a-day, but got burnt out. Now, I do a monthly spread. It is sort of like the month in review pages I have seen other scrappers do. I just use the divided page protectors and PL kit to simplify the process. It allows me to capture the holidays/special events/vacations, plus a little bit of the everyday....without feeling like I am digging for things to document or taking picture of the same thing week after week. Plus, it takes much less time to do one layout a month vs. one layout a week.

|Posted: 1/10/2013 8:54:15 AM|
I do not. However, I have been toying with the idea of doing it for the odd pictures that I don't want to scrap, but I do want to keep. It would be my own version and not something I do every day. I imagine a two page spread would probably cover a couple of weeks with just random pictures. Decisions decisions.
