I dont' because I work nights while the rest of the family is at work or in school all day. I figured that I wouldn't have much to put in there most of the time except pictures of my feet and my coffee!

And another thing, when you 'have' to keep up with it and doing it to keep up to me that isn't fun.. I just want to grab some pictures and do a layout and have fun.. Not because I have to keep up with a project...that said, I just picked up a smash book and I am loving that 'project'.

I did it 1 year and prefer to do my own thing now. So many other companies have library type cards or even dies that you can make your own and do as you like. I have a ton of that first years cards, even after I shared with friends.

I don't- I was kind of tempted, but then I did JYC and even though I loved it, even with all the extra stuff going on in December there were days when I struggled to come up with a photo. The other thing is I would probably end up scrapping a lot of the photos as 12x12's anyway... so it seems I little redundant.

I could definitely see myself adding PL style layouts to my general albums for big events..but every day? Not right now...I don't get enough scrapping time as it is for everything I want to do!

Just not interested in doing it. I like to scrapbook, but PL doesn't appeal to me.

I don't. I tried it last year and I hated it.
I managed to get about 3 weeks done before I decided that my life was just too boring to document it every week.

I don't and have no interest in it. I'll be honest and say that I don't care for the look of it -- I much prefer to create traditional layouts. Also the idea of having to do something every single day hold no appeal -- I know I'd quickly abandon that.

I don't have the self discipline to take a picture every day - and honestly some days are just work, dinner and bed. (well not quite that boring but very routine).

BUT - I am going to try 52 Sundays this year. We usually have some kind of weekend adventure so be it Saturday or Sunday I am going to try to do a better job of documenting the weekend fun we get up to.

I started it this year and only lasted one week!
Reasons why it is not for me:
My life is just too boring to take pictures every day.
I really enjoy doing 12 x 12 LO's

I might use a few of the pages from PL to add a few pictures during the year to my regular album, that don't warrant a full 12 x 12 LO.

To each his own....glad so many enjoy it....just not for me!

I don't do project life either. Our kids are grown and gone, and there is just not that much to document about our daily lives. A couple of years ago, I did an album for a random month, and if my grandkids look back on it one day, they will be fascinated at how much a gallon of gas cost in 2011! I might do a yearend highlight layout to put in an album.

I was wondering the same thing. There is so much talk about PL that I thought I was the only one not participating. I am glad there are more. I know I wouldn't be able to keep up with taking a picture a day. I di keep looking at the core kits because I like them.

My pl is my regular album which showcases and highlights everything in my life that is important enough for me to take the time to document.

I am attempting it this year...but I don't like divided page protectors...just don't like that look..and I know I don't have enough interesting things that happen to me on a daily basis to do weekly spreads so I am going to basically be doing one two-pager a month. I'm still calling it Project Life because it is a time capsule of my year.

I was thinking about starting a thread asking the same question.

I'd consider it if I had unlimited amounts of time, but I don't have as much time to scrap as I'd like as it is, and I don't want my regular scrapping to fall by the wayside. I love the pages I've seen people do, but it's just not something I think I can accommodate this year. I love the idea of scrapping the everyday though, and I do try to capture that in my annual albums in addition to big events. If I were to do it I probably wouldn't buy the kits, I'm just not really a big kit person (see similar thread "Does anyone here NOT subscribe to a kit club?".

I don't either. I am still working on JYC from 3 years ago. For all the reasons already stated here, and it's just really not me.

I did do a Weekend in the Life mini book based on a Week in the Life class. That I enjoyed because it was a short, picture dominated project.

No, I don't, only because I don't like the idea that I have something that I have to keep up with. When I have time I scrap, I don't want to feel rushed or obligated. I just like to do a page here and there and tuck it in an album.

I'm taking a break from PL this year, but I did it the last two years. I LOVE the project . . . and you don't have to do it daily, or even weekly. You can take a monthly approach, or just as a story warrants being kept. I personally am kind of combing PL this year (the inserts and divided page protectors) into my regular family albums. I'm going to play with it that way and see how I like it come next year to decide how I want to continue it.

I don't do it. I have so many photos I want to scrap that I am not interested in essentially creating more.

I have been scrapping since 1999 and have so many albums and layouts; I've done layouts about many everyday things, and I still take pics of everyday things I want to remember, like a close up of a cup of tea with a tea bag tag that said "Christmas Tea" something my son and I enjoy during the holidays.

I also used the slide in pages for several albums, including one I used WRMK protectors, and I did not like the look of it. I feel like I could have scrapped the pages in the time it took me to make things fit.

So no, I do not see myself doing any PL type of project.

I did it the first year making my own stuff keeping the creative side happy. ONE thing that really really helped me in 2009 was using my 5x7 date book. It keeps me organized. I keep track of what pic I took and notes about the journaling. Then I had a major life change for a few years but decided to do it this year with a kit EVEN. Why??

1. My mom has Alzheimer's and she is descending into the 'darkness' quickly. My husband of 39 yrs died suddenly in 2010, I have moved four times and most of my stuff is packed and in two different places.

2. So, I am caring for my mom in a small house and don't have room for much of my stash (I had a scraproom) so I ordered a kit because I want to document her last days of 'light' before the 'darkness' takes all of her.

3. I was a budding amateur photographer and have taken less that a hundred shots since... so I want to focus on taking photos and what better way than HAVE TOO. Hopefully you are laughing with me.

4. Using this site to help when I can't think of a pic to take http://www.facebook.com/groups/FMSphotoaday/
Also, here at twopeas in the Photo forum there are some similar challenges to aid in the photography end.

Regret: not starting this last April when I moved here and she had some really good days, so.....I decided to throw some of those times in with journaling.

I didn't think I would ever do it again. So, I have learned to never say never, just say it is not my style now!!

I don't. I'm quite sure i'd be setting myself up for failure and it would stress me if I weren't on top of it. I am considering adding some divided pages in reg albums thou for pics i don't wish to traditionally scrap.

I have thought about it as well and it sounds great. Nut I don't do it because I know eventually, at some point, I won't be able to keep up. I don't want another unfinished project laying around. Lol I have a smashbook and fancy pants brag book instead. 12x12 two page layouts are my fave. Plus, as others mentioned, I wouldn't have enough to write!

I just started PL this year because I'm 3 years behind since having babies. To me it's a quick way to get my photos in an album and make note of what's happening in life. I don't intend to do every week or every day, that's too much work for me. I'm doing every month unless there is an event or something I just want to scrapbook. I will say that the pages aren't as beautiful as the ones I do layouts for but I'm planning to do both PL and layouts, adding layout pages in between. I love layouts but I find with small kids and so many other interests, it's difficult to find time for everything.

Maybe if PL came out with "This day sucked" or "Nothing lasts forever", I'd do PL. I'm just a little too earthy and truthful to commit those things in writing for posterity. Imagine three generations from now, my ancestors will say "Wow, Nana sure did cuss a lot, didn't she?". I'm just not a "bliss", "follow your dreams", "amazing" "miraculous" "Best. Day. Ever." sort of girl. I'm more of an Effer Dare scrapper. And that's OK.

LOL.

I dream of bouquets of roses, red wine, and warm bubble baths. Reality is 5-minute showers, too many errands/not enough time, and a boss who makes it a point to make my life as challenging as possible every single day. I'm not even going to comment on my DH and kids. My "Go (Verb ) Yourself" LO shall remain unmade except in my head.

I will never put into writing what I (sometimes) think to myself. It's better that way.

LOL. I've included some not-so-pleasant stories in my books, but I usually hide the journaling. I once made a page about something happening in my life that I was crazy excited about, but then it fell through. I didn't want to toss the original page, so I made another LO about my disappointment and just slid it into the page protector right over the original page. I'm not really sure why, I guess it's kind of a reminder to myself not to repeat some of the same mistakes I made then.

I don't do PL ... I don't feel like I would have the time to do a set amount of photographs and posts in the album, every week.

But, what I have always done is to scrapbook
(12 x 12's or double page layouts)
of everyday activities...
if I have a lot of detail, I want to journal
I either handwrite it, or type it out on normal
computer paper and place it on the backside of the layout.

I've often thought, i should put some little type of
symbol...maybe an arrow, in the lowest right hand side
to let folks know that particular layout has a story
on the backside...but, to this point, I've not done that.

I do love the whole idea behind PL...
its just not for me.
Also, our kids are grown now -
so we don't have as much going on day to day
as a young family would.

Hope this helps...

I think I'll do a month in review layout or layouts of the small things in our lives. I do like that aspect of documenting. I scrap 8.5x11 and just can't get myself to make that leap of buying so much stuff in another size.

If you mean PL= photo a day, No. I did that for a month just to try the concept and although I liked it I don't think it works for me at this time. I may consider it in the future.

If you mean using PL products, Yes. I'm going to use the pages and I just bought 2 childhood mini kits to start my kids' school albums. I am also wanting to use PL stuff to document some of the random pictures I have of my kids/life but I don't even know if I'm going to put them in chrono order much less trying to do anything on a regular basis. I'm just going to use the products with the photos that I want to take and have taken already. No pressure about having to take photos. I'm thinking about organizing them into Stacy Julien theme albums (All about Us, Places we Go, People we know, etc). THAT to me is what Project Life is about; using the products to simplify MY scrapbooking. To me Project Life does not equal a photo a day, although I know that is how it started, I think it has evolved to be something broader. That's the feeling I get from watching Becky's intro video and reading her blog.

Scrapbooking is my creative outlet, and if I'm worried about taking photos every day/week, and then scrapping them, then it's just one more task in my life that can stress me out.

I'd rather keep scrapbooking as something I can do a little or a lot depending on my schedule. I don't want to feel constant pressure, and that's what PL would be for me.

I don't do PL

I don't put pressure in my scrapbooking, I want it to fun and relaxing. I don't worry about being behind, caught up or any other scrapbooking measurement.

I have been working on an album for my mom for over a year. I don't have as much time to scrap as I would like, so I won't ruin what little time I have with added pressure to keep up

I don't do PL. I like the concept but I would feel pressured to keep up and it would be one more thing on my "To Do" list. Life is stressful enough right now.

I include everyday stuff in my yearly scrapbooks and am happy with that.

I don't but I have a LOT of stuff that is PL oriented.
So, I may go over to the "divided' side for a project. lol.
