I just thought I would add that although I was only at 10% discount, it would have been nice to been acknowledged in some way, instead I do not qualify for anything...I know it's not much, but I feel kinda like tossed to the side, as a long time customer, this does not make good business sense...Oh well, I'm guessing 2Peas is not worried, as they have not bothered to come on here to discuss this matter...

The way I look at it - I used to be considered worthy of a 10% discount based on being a loyal customer. I repaid that consideration by BEING a loyal customer. Now I am not considered a loyal customer (7,300 pts hence no discount) so I can take a hint. Two Peas does not consider me a loyal customer and that is all I have to know when it comes to decisions about where to spend my money.

Furthermore still waiting on my $300 order that was placed in December -

This was my 2 cents yesterday before they locked my thread, and this is my 2 cents today:

Oh no, I'm so sad about this. I also went from 15% to 5%. I've got around 16k points. I'll never make it to gold before the other points drop off. I appreciate everything 2 peas does for the scrappy community, but this just hurts my heart. I've been a loyal customer and this is how I get treated? I did read the fine print a long time ago and was aware it could change, but this is just ridiculous. It was good while it lasted. I'm sorry 2 Peas but I think you missed the boat on this one. These are pretty unreachable tiers.

I hope to come back to this and see that I'm misunderstanding somehow and there are ways besides dollar for dollar to obtain points. Otherwise I too shall have to reconsider where I spend my scrappy money.

I'd like to add:

I can understand where people are saying the free classes should make up for this, and I included this in my thoughts yesterday, but I have bought almost all of Shimelle's classes and several others here. I'm pretty sure there are others that buy many classes here. I'm pretty sure those paid classes make up for a large portion of the free classes. And the Garden Girls? I'm pretty sure we all buy a lot of extra stuff because of them. I know I personally got my 15% discount because I was buying things after watching GG episodes and taking her other paid classes. So yes, I'm very much upset over how this was handled.

Lastly, ditto what paperpile kitten said regarding not wanting to have to spend time here or upload things to get points. My money should be darn well enough.

I've been a long time lurker, recently turned semi-frequent poster. As anyone can see by my posts to years ratio. That doesn't make me any less of a loyal 2 peas person.

I truly hope they fix this. I've put up with bent paper and long wait times to receive my stuff because I liked my loyalty discount. This doesn't feel like customer loyalty at all. But that's just my two cents.

"We are just a couple days away from your first opportunity to begin racking up those points! Our CHA Winter Online Social event beginning January 12th will include creative challenges, giving you the chance to earn up to 1,000 points just by uploading your creative work to our gallery! We'll be sharing the details on that very soon.

Look for other special events and opportunities throughout the year for earning points. I *may* have overheard ideas like "Double-point weekends" and "earn point just by logging in from the Two Peas app" thrown around in our meetings at Two Peas."

Has there been any more information about how we can earn points other than what I quoted above (from the Sticky Thread)? In particular, has "will include creative challenges, giving you the chance to earn up to 1,000 points" been explained? I'm wondering if "chance" means there will be a draw if you enter by participating (like the other challenges), or if everyone who participates can earn points... I haven't been able to find much info about the program - not sure if I just haven't been looking in the right spots, or it hasn't been announced yet... (Or if at my level I don't get those announcements? I don't get advance notice of sales, and not sure what all that means either )

Well said stampaartiste. I totally agree with you. Look how many of us posted and reposted on this one topic. I believe two peas is a family and look at all the people we have met and the friends we have made just by chatting on this site. The inspiration we have found in the gallery here and on the videos. Two peas did make a mistake by not informing their loyal customer and followers of the new program. I believe they now know that after 2 days of many many people talking about this change. Aren't the owners allowed a mistake? I feel we should see what is to come before we decide to limit our shopping or worse stop shopping here all together. Maybe they will offer better sales or once a month double points or better once a week double points. Maybe they will offer the person who has the best weekly layout a nice amount of free points. Anything is possible so please peas realize what this site has meant to many of us and give them a chance. That is all I am stepping off of my soap box now.

I'm with everyone else. Had started shopping here because of my discount even though I have an archiver's close by. I just bought a few things I could not find here on amazon - no shipping and here in 2 days. To reach even 5%, you need to spend over $100 a month here. I buy a lot of scrapbook product compared to a lot of people but that feels like a lot and to to get to the 10% is ridiculous. They probably have lost my shopping and archiver's and amazon will now be the beneficiaries.

I will come and read the boards but no more shopping. Maybe some digital but this is not how you treat loyal shoppers.

To reach even 5%, you need to spend over $100 a month here.

This is where I'm struggling the most. The thresholds seem ridiculous.

And why would you reward non-shopping activities with the ability to earn points toward shopping discounts? And why would a post or upload have the same reward as spending $100? How does checking in on your phone have shopping discount value?

So sad that my pea world is crumbling....I never have even gotten over the site revamp.....

Wow. Crappy business practice to have a reward for loyal customers and then take it away with no warning, especially considering it should have been a reward for 12 months.

And really, in the grand scheme - I'm sure with 40% off coupons in big box stores and better (ahem no sure post) free shipping offers from other online stores a 5% discount for spending $100/month just doesn't seem like a big deal.

Amazon.com gives better customer service than this - and I pay for the privilege of free shipping.

This new loyalty program is awful. I am a loyal customer with my shopping, but rarely have time to post or do other on-line activities on this site. I will definitely be looking at some other sites to buy the Scrapbook products I need. I love getting discounts and 2 peas needs to understand this of their customers.

I agree with the above quotes. Three pages of complaints about how hard the new site is on the eyes and no response from 2peas. Three pages about the change in loyalty and no response from 2peas. It's crumbling....

I am not mad but very sad about this change. I too was at 10% and am now at nothing. I just lost my job and so my scrapping budget is going to be tight this year. I will not even get to the 5%. I love 2peas and have been here for years but my shopping will not be here except for those things that I can not find else were.

I don't shop here much, but I will say that's a pretty steep price for a discount. My LSS offers a loyalty program. The first level starts at $250 and tops out at $1000 spent. I could understand 2peas being more then that as they'd have more in that first discount, but having to spent $100 a month just isn't feasible for most people.

I don't upload layouts, nor do I use the 2 Peas app. I can't afford to spend $400 a month or more to get the 15% discount I had already earned.
And now I don't even qualify for "special" deals. It's hard to believe that's how "loyal" customers are now being treated. I enjoy the message boards and the free classes, but I purchased most of the classes you offered last year and bought enough products to earn 15% discount. I guess I'm just stunned.

I've had a chance to think about this all day and I really believe that we should be able to keep the discount we earned for the rest of the year - at the very least, for the next six months. Those who hadn't earned a discount can take advantage of the new program.

I have shopped here almost exclusively for the past 10 years and I have no desire to shop elsewhere, even though my packages used to take two or three days and now take 10 to 14, but this doesn't sit well with me at all. I earned that discount by spending more money than I care to admit but I will now shop around for the best deal if this situation isn't rectified.

ETA: I really don't care whether I can earn points by increasing my participation. I don't have the time. As a matter of fact, I spend more time here than I should. I believe the dollars I have spent and would continue to spend should determine the discount I receive.

And FWIW, I have a gold shopper status with the new program and will receive a 10% discount but it is still less than what I had, and I'm still mad. I can't imagine how upset I would be if I had just earned a discount for the first time, only to have it ripped away from me.

Another thing to add to the peeve list! I reached 10% not long ago and now it's gone.

I decided the order I placed last week was my last. I'm so sick of waiting (this time it was a week I think) for the order to even be pulled.

Simon Says, ACOT and SC always whip it out super fast! Plus SSS and SC have flat rate shipping for O/S customers. ACOT doesn't but their shipping rates are much cheaper than here and it seems to arrive faster plus there is always some kind of coupon code.

Well I now have about $800 worth of product sitting in my carts of the above retailers waiting for payday. This is not cool!

I forgot to mention in my previous post...

Adding insult to injury, they've changed the way they add up the purchases. Before, I had almost $1300 in customer loyalty dollars, which should be 13,000 points. I only received 10,500 points. The difference is total of purchase vs total of purchase less the discount. I understand if they want to do that from here on out, but they could have at least let me keep the points I've earned already.

And I also agree with Penny, the awarding of points for non-shopping activities doesn't sit well with me.

Well said, DinCA, well said.

For the last year I have bought EVERYTHING. I. WANT. An order almost every week. Always qualifying for free shipping, and totaling sometimes as much as $75/order, vs the $50 needed. I have disposable income. This is a HOBBY and in my world won't warrant spending more than my trend. HOW MUCH OF THIS STUFF DOES ONE NEED? I have too much as it is!! And my past spending habits earned me that 15%...that is now devalued to 5%.

It's a shopping reward and should be tied to shopping, IMO.

That's me exactly. I added up what I spent here in 2012 and 2011. It's a lot. More than I should have. I'm guessing I spent about 80% of my scrapping money here, to support 2Peas, and as a reward I earned a nice little discount. Now, without warning, it's been reduced to a level that I'll probably never get out of. AND...I now have to earn almost 7,000 more points from what I have now to stay at the 5% BUT then I will qualify for the privilege of getting in on advanced sales and promos at that level? Seriously? IMO 2Peas made it so out there for a reason.

If there is anything positive out of this...it made me wake up as to how much money I spend on this hobby. My husband and wallet will thank 2Peas.

So many peas that shop here don't, do the message boards, and don't do classes. They are really limiting themselves if they coddle just a certain type of scrapper.

Oh, so that's what happened to my points! I was wondering! (BTW Have someone found some info/rules somewhere yet?)

Why isn't anyone from 2Peas responding to this thread?

They have already responded. In the first thread that was locked. Jamie said "This thread has now been locked as we've given an explanation for the new program in the sticky at the top of the message board. Thank you again for sharing your feedback and for your understanding." And that's the end of discussion. I am pretty sure they are reading, though.

I wasn't going to post about this again, but as mouseshouse expressed it early in the other thread: "I understand the program can (and has) changed without warning, but it seems to me that "loyalty" should be a two way street... ".

So let me pour my heart out in a lengthy kind of love letter to Two Peas.

But first: I have been debating for hours if I should post this or if I should, as others have indicated that we all perhaps should, just get over it and move on. I don't know... here it is anyway.

I have been loyal. Through the different changes of this web site, the various changes in customer loyalty program in the last couple of years...

Only last year, when a couple of changes made it difficult for me to shop from here, did I begin to look elsewhere. What happened was that 2peas started to borrow an extra $8-10 from me for international shipping on every single purchase I make here (we get the money back if we file a support ticket - but still - they say it's not possible to estimate shipping costs based on what's in the cart so they overcharge).

On top of that, they are putting the original total price on the package, not what I actually paid after deduction for loyalty points and other credits. This led to my having to pay taxes and custom fees on a higher sum of money that I actually had paid for the stuff! Needless to say, I wasn't happy and Matt at CS have really gone out of his way to make them change these things but to no result. Thanks, Matt! I know you've tried your best!

In the last 5-6 months, while still making my regular purchases from here at Two Peas every other week or so, I tried shopping from several other places and didn't like them much. I was ready to return to my "home base" and spend most of my scrap budget at Two Peas again, despite the small annoyances.

Then they changed the customer loyalty program, which is their right to do if they choose to, no debating about that fact. And maybe I wouldn't even care so much if I didn't love Two Peas so much and didn't really WANT to be loyal (that's the most frustrating - I could just shut up now, shrug and take my money anywhere else but I WANT to shop here and support 2peas), or if I wasn't as active here as I am. The reason for this thread is not, I believe, about the money. It is about trust!

The first day I was shocked, surprised and a bit disappointed. Not mad, just disappointed.

The next day I looked at my new score again and my heart sank a little. After all the money, time, energy, feedback, activity that I have invested here over the years, I did no longer count as a "loyal customer" and even if I maybe could make it to Bronze level (the other tiers are totally out of reach for me), I wasn't to be let in on the "the special promotions and advanced sale notifications" that Jamie had talked so enthusiastically about in the other thread. Like Bronze level was some kind of 'second class loyal customer' given an elbow from time to time but not really in with that 'it' or 'in' crowd, or what you call it, at the school yard.

I felt sad. As Penny said: "So sad that my pea world is crumbling."

Today, I'm still heartbroken. It's kind of like losing an old dear friend. You know, Two Peas was the very first place I found when I searched for scrapbooking stuff online in 2003. I just followed the link and never even looked at the other search results. I instantly fell in love with this place and this shop. I got my first box of goodies and it had the cutest little Benjamin Bunny sticker on it. I still have that very cardboard box on a shelf in my scrap area, I will keep it always! (Yes I am a nostalgic romantic dork, that's why I scrap!)

Years later, when I got more serious about my scrapbooking and started collecting and build a stash, Two Peas was the obvious place for me to go to. I very soon worked my way into the loyalty program and I have been there ever since.

I still love this place very much! But now I'm beginning to realize that the reason for my affection is perhaps that YOU are here, my dearest fellow peas. And the wonderful Garden Girls and all the inspiration! Not so much the company or the store itself?

It's only a matter of feelings, really. Not about rationale at all. Maybe not even about the discount, although it was so very nice to get some percentage off to help with the expensive international shipping.

Nobody is questioning the right to change a program or terms at any time or whim. We all appreciate this community and the inspiration, the free classes and the fun events. It is still here, and we will take part in it. But something very important broke the other day.

Well, I don't think that I have much more to say in this matter (and I'm sure you are relieved to hear that if you made it this far. lol!). I might still occasionally shop here and I will definitely keep hanging out with you guys! But I don't think there's any way to get back my unconditional love and respect for Two Peas. It is broken. And I miss it so bad!

I'm sorry for all the peas that lost their discount. These are the people two peas needs to be catering to; paying customers. I don't think it's right to tie message board participation to a shopping discount.

Yes, I have to agree with the majority of posts here.

I too LOVEEEEEE Two Peas...
but, as in any situation of love...
there are the downsides...

I will definitely miss my discount.
AND I agree, for those who were told
they would have their discount for 1 year...
then that should hold true. I'm disappointed.

Something else, I really reallllllly dislike...
is the fact that they ask when you are checking out...
if you want the folks in the warehouse...
to "rush" to put your order together...
and if you do, then you can pay extra for that.

I don't get that.
As an employee...
as a business...
shouldn't you always hurry to take care of your customers?
Prompt service...isn't that a given for a business?

Now whats next?
When I go to the grocery store,
am I going to have to bid on a place in line?
"Hey lady, if you want to get checked out of here today
your going to have bid a little higher!"

What if the electric company took this on...
"Hey we already got your bill however,
your neighbors got their check in a day before
we received yours - so unfortunately...
if the electric goes out - we are getting theirs
back on sooner!"

I don't know...
the bad thing is...
I PAY THE EXTRA MONEY!
yep...I sure do.
Because I am that person
who actually wants their items there...
in front of them -
the moment I hit the enter button
on the computer

Again - let me finish by saying...
I love Two Peas...
I'll still shop two peas...
I'll watch their videos...
etc etc...
but, if I can get something cheaper...
somewhere else...
I will have to shop that store first.

I've spent more money with 2 peas
in the past six months than I have in
the 2 years I've been shopping them...
and its that loyalty program that made me think,
ahhhhh go ahead - BUY the cart! BUY THE CART!

Something else, I really reallllllly dislike...
is the fact that they ask when you are checking out...
if you want the folks in the warehouse...
to "rush" to put your order together...
and if you do, then you can pay extra for that.

They do? Where do they ask this at? I know they have the option for Priority Shipping, but is there a "rush" warehouse service I've never seen?

I have NEVER seen this and I have shopped here LOTS.
I do see the upgrade to priority shipping -- which I have no problem with.

I completely understand you feel disappointed you were not given notice of the change in our program. I am sorry you've not felt valued and I personally am regretting not thinking of this when meeting as a Two Peas team about the new program. I feel like I've let you down as your community manager and for that I apologize.

I've addressed the new program on the previous thread, as well as our sticky, but I'd like to reiterate the choice we had to make as a business. In order to move forward as family-owned and operated company, we simply could not continue with the existing program. We had to decide to either do away with the program all together, or still offer something. We hope that you can focus on this new program and the benefits it offers.

We want to reward you for not only your dollars spent, but what you bring to our community. It is our intent to continue to brainstorm and offer ways you can accumulate points through events, gallery postings, challenges, double days, etc. After a series of these opportunities (which we plan to offer regularly!), you could reach the 5% discount after a single order or no order at all. This is just our loyalty program discount, remember, we love to offer you special sales all throughout the year!

We do value your loyalty to us, and we appreciate that you understand we have to make (sometimes not so fun) decisions like this as a business. We're determined to make the new program the best we can.

Jamie, can you/2Ps please elaborate on how community participation will translate to points? Will it only be for special events, etc or does everyday activity contribute? Just curious as someone posted that she had a bunch of points and has not purchased anything from 2Ps ever whereas I see no correlation in my points to anything but purchases. Thanks

At this time our plan is to regularly offer the opportunity to gain additional points through special events or promotions (our goal is at least monthly), however, I am sure we would be open to having everyday activity contribute. I will suggest that when we come together again and evaluate how we can continue to develop the program.

Thanks Jamie.

I'm going to reserve any commenting until TPTB start rolling out some of the other ways to get points.

I'm really disappointed that 2Peas didn't have a plan and announcement in place BEFORE the discount was taken away! Honestly, it feels like "we need ALL of our loyal customer's money NOW -- we'll figure out a way to appease them with some special bonus points later!" type decision.

I know 2Peas is a business. I know 2Peas doesn't care about us as individuals. I know 2Peas needs, wants, and should make money. I KNOW that. But I've been here for almost 10 years now, and the only reason I scrapbook is because of 2Peas. I VALUED this business and this community, and the business and the community are not mutually exclusive. One would not exist without the other.

Jamie, will we be able to stack/combine future sales coupons plus any loyalty discount we do receive?

I'm not Jamie but the current fine print says

The loyalty discount may be freely combined with Two Peas coupons
so I am guessing it would work with percentage off coupons too?

Thank you for apologising for not having more information ready to share with us when you make a big announcement...

"I'd like to reiterate the choice we had to make as a business. In order to move forward as family-owned and operated company, we simply could not continue with the existing program."

While I don't know what pressures you're facing as a company, I understand that businesses need to focus on numbers first... If the numbers aren't there then the business can't continue and everyone looses... You say you were at a place where you really couldn't continue with the old program or gradually phase it out, and I accept that statement as being true... Whether the solution you decided on improves the problems you were facing will be shown in the months to come... Some Peas will continue to shop as before, some will cut back, and there will be new Peas added to the mix - maybe the mix of shoppers, how much they spend, and how much Two Peas saves will be successful... I hope so because regardless of my feelings or situation, I don't wish any business to close or suffer... I'm grumpy about the whole thing because it means less for me personally, but I wish you guys luck with the changes and new direction you're taking the company...

Thanks, kethry, it didn't say that yesterday when I checked. It said this:

Our Customer Loyalty Program rewards frequent shoppers with a discount of up to 15% on non-discounted items plus special promotional offers. The points you earn on each order are good for 12 months from the date your order ships and are not transferrable. The loyalty discount does not apply towards shipping costs and cannot be combined with other offers. Two Peas reserves the right to modify or further clarify the rules and restrictions that apply to this program at any time.

Biochempea, interesting change
What I see as quite likely is that I will do just enough of the special point things (like winter social) to keep from dropping out of special offers (if I can) and that I will probably save my shopping for those special promotions for stuff I can't get at archivers or that isn't worth using my 30% off coupon for at A's. I love this place and 5% is better than nothing but I do think it will decrease my overall spending here *shrug*. Ill be interested to see in a year if I am correct about my predictions *LOL*

I can't believe it! I just saw this thread and had no idea!! At first I was so angry about losing the 10% discount that I'd maintained for a couple years (and I was just about at 15. I now Have NO discount and approximately 6,300 points. Now that I've read through everyone's comments I have to say I amazed at the number of loyal customers and how much money you ladies have spent here! To think that 2Peas would rock the boat like that and possibly upset you all is mind blowing for me. I'm sad now to think I"m no longer a "qualifying" loyal customer. I hope I will still be able to take advantage of discounts, etc. But my spending will most likely decrease now. Unfortunately when my loyalty discount to 2Peas was discontinued, my loyalty to the 2Peas website will also probably be discontinued. It is a two way street.

I was not earning any discount, so the changes do not affect me. I do think that an announcement should have been made and a date when the changes would start would have been nice for people to get at least one more order in before the change. Maybe Two Peas should back up a little and give those loyal customers that opportunity.

I don't think these "after the fact" apologies are enough to make me reconsider regularly buying here. I don't really care about the new program, so for me to "wait and see what's coming" is not an incentive to continue to buy here.

I understand that companies need to make changes and decisions, but the way they are done reflects the importance they give to their customers. If 2 peas (with this irrealistic new program) is giving more importance to the "chatting" and the "sharing" rather than their sales then that's exactly what they will get. More feedback, less spending. I hope they can survive to this dramatic change.

I am still not over this.

I have been a member at 2peas since 2006 and placed my first order in 2007. I have spent an ungodly amount of money here, over $3000, the bulk of that in 2012. Mainly because I was receiving a discount so I could justify it in my head. But, this new program they have thrown at us has really opened my eyes to just how much I have been spending here. Keeping in mind that I am only *one* of many peas who were at this spending level, because once you get that discount you still have to place orders to maintain it, what does 2peas think is going to happen if their "loyal" customers take our $3000+ disposable income and go spend it over at ACOT, SSS, SC and SBC??

That's going to hurt. A lot.

They're going to have to sell a lot of Glitter Girl to make up just my small piece of the pie.

Way-to-Go 2peas, first the blinding site re-do now a blindside with this program. Way.To.Go.

....and, yep. ---------> There goes my loyalty, I'll let my fingers do the walking.....right over to your competitors sites.

I'm hoping with the new loyalty program that there will be more sales this year. Honestly, I'm not going to rush to place an order with only a 5% discount. I wanted to maintain my 15% discount so the majority of my shopping was done here. I can shop elsewhere and save at least 10-20% and get free shipping. I had already planned on cutting back this year so I guess this will make it easier.

"earn point just by logging in from the Two Peas app"

They would need to finally make an app for Android in order for many peas to do that

I'm an android user AND I had reached the 15%...
So two peas doesn't want my business, plenty of other companies do.

Thanks for making the decision easy for me two peas.

I don't know how they think it is going to help their business by driving a lot of people away from shopping here. There is a 100% mark up in the retail world and we all know that. Taking away discounts from people giving them their hard earned money is not a very prudent thing to do in hard economic times. It isn't as if they are the only supplier of scrapbooking supplies and scrapbooking supplies is not a necessity in life. I really don't understand the business sense behind this change, not when you want to attract customers, not drive them away. To compete in a competitive market place a retailer must offer incentives to keep their loyal customers and attract new customers. I just don't get it.
