I have hundreds upon hundreds of rhinestones in every shape, size and color. They are truly my weakness. However, I find myself using them less and less as my style is evolving. In the past my go to ways to use them were as flower centers or in a straight line in descending size order (largest in the center, then the next smallest size on either side and so on.) I purchased some rhinestone flourish templates but haven't tried them yet. What are some of your favorite ways to use rhinestones?

I love to use rhinestones in haphazard groupings in a similar fashion to ink splatters. Sometimes I'll put ink splatters then put rhinestones around them too.
They are also handy for bullet points in your journalling
Or if you use a patterned paper, placing them throughout the pattern to add a bit of sparkle is cute too.
Or if you do grouped embellishments or layered stickers adding a few rhinestones to each group can really bring them all together. Especially if you need a unifying element in each group.
Hope that sparks something!
I too have a tonne of rhinestones in every colour and size. Lately I've been seeing enamel dots being used alot on layouts and these could easily be substitued for rhinestones if you like abit more bling.
This would be a good subject for the new video series about using up your stash! |

Sometimes I put them under a title in a straight line, or as you said in the centre of flowers, or when I use my butterfly punch, I put a couple in the centre if the butterfly. I also like to put them in opposite corners of a page, like maybe 3 smaller ones in a line. I also sometimes randomly put a few dotted in amongst mist splatters ive put diagonally on a page. HTH!

I like them dotted around embellishment clusters -I often put a triangle of 3 rhinestones/pearls around the cluster to finish it off.
Did you see the scrap your stash last week? With the brad covered embellishment? I'm going to try that on one of my Christmas pages, with a Christmas tree covered in brads and bling. Not sure if it'll look amazing or completely over the top though! |

I think the flourish template would be perfect way to use lots of rhinestones at once.
Cut up some cardstock into tag shapes and put a small flourish or a flower with bling. Then grab a gift bag, cover up any store logos with coordinating cardstock and embellish with a large flourish. Custom packaging while stash busting! Rhinestone initials would be neat too.

All those ideas except the scrap your stash one. Well, ok, if you like it, but I really find them all grouped together not a very nice design element. Like I'm reverting back 10 years to just starting out in the craft.

I do this a lot.
But if you have a silhoutte, you could totally dress up your die-cuts with a few or many. Making your own Say it with Rhinestone designs.

Find yourself a 7 year old girl, and help her make a scrapbook of her own. My granddaughter made herself the most sparkly mini book you have ever seen. She loves it, my rhinestones got used up, and everybody was happy. |

I'm in the midst of getting ready for work so I'm sorry I can't respond in depth. But thank you all so much for the suggestions, they are great! I would love to see my question addressed in Scrap Your Stash or in a Glitter Girl video. That would be even more awesome.
Keep the ideas coming and thanks again!

I bet that turned out cute!
Lots of good ideas. I too have bought them with no clue what to do with them. |

You can use them wherever you see a dot, such as over an i or at the of a sentence, or on stitches. |

I used to use rhinestones on everything, i still use them but no where near as much.
I like adding them as a dot too, or if i have a cluster add just one to finish it off.
I have actually just purged a TON of them this week, someone will be happy |
Happy Scrapping

I just did an art journal page where I clustered five of them. I also thought about, but decided against making some of the smaller ones "rain drops" to fall from a cloud.
On a layout I did a few months ago, I formed a 3/4 circle around a group of photos with them. My circle was loose, but it still needed about 10 large rhinestones. It could also be done tighter, especially with smaller rhinestones. |

If you are moving away from them as your style, use them on mini albums and cards you give away That way you are using them and getting them out at the same time
Yes, I have a pile of rhinestones I'm putting into a baby mini today!

My 20 yo DD added rhinestones on her freshly painted fingernails for New Year's Eve. It turned out really cute. Only one finger per hand. I told her she could use them whenever she wanted.

I love rhinestones. I use them in place of where I used to use brads.
For a while, it was my signature to use three small rhinestones near the top of my page & again at the bottom.
Sometimes I use pearls instead of rhinestones, but 98% of my pages have one or the other. |

Forgot to add that you can change the color of rhinestones with alcohol inks & staz-on. (Copics should work, too). |

If i use Thickers for a title, i sometimes add one or two mini rhinestones to each letter for a little bling.
