Apparently feathers(paper)are an upcoming trend. I saw Shimelle use some paper feathers in one of her videos, and Jenni Bowlin is showing feather tags and some paper at CHA. I will have to see some in person before I decide.

I have the SC Wood Veneer feathers and I've had a hard time trying to use them.

I've seen quite a few people use them and it never looks right to me.
|Posted: 1/12/2013 4:23:34 PM|
I am not sure yet. I can usually make any trend work for me, though. Sometimes it is used in subtle ways, but it is used.

i will not be using feathers on my LO's!!!

I do. I've liked it since they first started showing up last year, and even before that, when a friend sent me a paper feather embellished pen! I have been wanting to make one, but just haven't actually done so...yet.

I love the way it looks on the projects I have seen but I don't see myself using them. Maybe I might have to try though.

Meh, I don't hate them but I can't see myself using them a lot either.

I don't like them but maybe I will change my mind ?

I've really thought about how I would use them and it's just not me. When I see other layouts, they look nice, but I just don't find I can use them well in mine.

i'm not sold on them!
I know some cool ones came out last year (or maybe it was last CHA) and I have seen Shimelle use one, but not sure its the trend for me!

I love birds, so I love feathers, but whole papers of feathers aren't my thing. I'd like some feather stamps that are kind of stylized so I could emboss them. I like paper feathers too.

I'm lovin them!
I'm finding them useful coneying the "homey-nesting" as well as the "free-flying-elated".

I like paper feathers and feather prints, but not real feathers.

I like them well enough on other projects but I don't foresee getting any for myself. I am not a big fan of the bird or bird cage trends either though.

|Posted: 1/12/2013 4:36:12 PM|I didn't like them until I saw the new ones by Bella Blvd., and them being used on a couple of layouts (I think you'll have to scroll way down).
I wouldn't stock up on them, but I can see using them on a LO or 2, but the bright colors, not real life feathers.

Not really. However, what I received in my SC kit, I have used. Well, only 1 veneer.

Glitter Girl used some book print feathers that really struck me as awesome, but really as a whole, not something I see myself latching on to . . . I'll never say never though . . .

I don't care for them but they will probably grow on me. That seems to be how it works. The more I see it used, the more I like it.

At first I was not a fan, but now that they have been around for a while. I like them quite a bit. I may not like them in 6 months, but for now I do.
ETA: I don't care for the real ones. Only paper, wood, chipboard, etc.

Nope. Not for me.
What are you looking at?
|Posted: 1/12/2013 4:55:06 PM|
I love feather prints and cutouts and shapes and stamps... so far not feeling the real feathers on pages.
|Posted: 1/12/2013 5:01:00 PM|
I didn't think I would like it, but I actually really do - as small embellies or in prints. I'm not sure how I feel about the BIG real looking feathers that people seem to just be covered their pages with and sticking a photo on top.

I have feathers in my 2 floral arrangements, the one on my dining room table and the one on my entertainment center. They're big, black almost boa fuzzy type? They're gorgeous. BUT. There is no way I personally, could pull of feathers in any of my paper crafts.
I think if the right scrapper came along, it would be drop dead gorgeous. I'm thinking shabby scrappers like Melissa Phillips, or cherri'sjubilee.... I bet they could do amazing things w/feathers in their paper crafts.

I like them as part of prints, or paper cut ones, but not into using real ones as part of a LO...
|Posted: 1/12/2013 5:33:34 PM|I love it! I unfortunatly only have the mistable studio calico feathers now (there's really no very good scrapbooking stores in Norway). I'm hoping to get some feather papers and the wood veneer feathers from studio calico, but it's probably not gonna happen

I've seen a lot of cute projects using feathers. I would love some of the wood veneer feathers!

I have managed to use a few of the veneer feather and some real ones on altered projects, but I don't see them ever being a staple for me.
|Posted: 1/12/2013 5:38:56 PM|
I probably wouldn't use them on my own layouts, however I have seen them used by others and it was a nice touch!
|Posted: 1/12/2013 5:43:19 PM|Yes, yes, yes...loving the feathers!! I have 2 current layouts in my gallery using Jenni Bowlin Studio vellum feathers and I can't wait to get my hands on more feathers from her line.
