If like me you have been scrapping for awhile you will notice the return of letter stamps. Anything else you notice coming back again?

Vellum. I remember when everyone used to print their journaling on them 10 years ago. I think I heard photo-realistic papers are coming back. Reminds me of those stacks or paper pads although I think they're doing a better job at them now.
I wonder if mulberry paper will make a come back.

Yup saw AT's wooden set of alphabet stamps and was just thinking what you just posted. Lol. I like them, they're just so bulky to store once everyone else starts jumping on the bandwagon to make them.

I was also going to say mulberry paper, that goes way back to my big rubber stamping years in the early 90's.
Film strips were pretty big around 2004ish & they seem to be coming back lately. |

I started out with two sets of wooden alphabet stamps and quickly realized that clear stamps are WAY easier to use for titles, and a lot easier to store. I will not be purchasing any of the new wooden sets.
Serenitysmom - I loved my set of foam stamps, although I don't regret purging them. They just aren't really my style anymore. Maybe if there were more options on the market I'd get back into them. Mine were just too big to work on most of my pages.

I must object to the descriptor of "older" -- I would prefer longer term!!
I saw someone doing metal stamping to embellish a metal "blank" that was then used as a charm. I had to laugh for 2 reasons -- I clearly remember running around town trying to find two sized of alpha letter stamps for metal and I have one dusty box of those heavy, greasy alpha stamps sitting on the floor at the edge of my scrap desk!

I see vellum, wooden stamps, and tags-in-pockets making a comeback. Library-style pockets are showing up from a couple of different manus and STENCILS seem to be making a comeback as well. I saw that Heidi Swapp has new clear plastic alphas - I am sure I have some of her original ones in my stash! |

How about "vintage peas"?
I have been scrapbooking for about 15yrs.
And I never want to see mulberry paper coming back. I never got the hang of it.
I still have a few sets of the foam stamps. Can't seem to part with them.

Binder clips! I noticed they were included in some kits lately and it made me chuckle because I have a whole photo box full of them from years ago. I think Lil Davis must have made a zillion themed packs and I just had to have them all. Sometimes being a packrat pays off...

I still have those ghost clocks!!! I purged my foam stamps because they were too big. I have unmounted all my wooden stamps for storage reasons and now have them in DVD cases. I also purged my bottlecap collection BUT I still have some vellum! I actually used it on a wedding layout last week.
If you have done the trend the first time, do you do it the second? I am not sure I always do...there are certain things in clothing/shoes that I have done the first time around, so I don't do it when it comes back. |

Oh gosh I am dreadful at purging so I have many of those things mentioned still lurking in the cupboard:
Foam stamps
Wooden alpha stamps
Bottle caps
Binder clips
(actually I used to just LOVE all the MM and other manu metal embellishments - Life's Journey by K&Co anyone? - and have boxes of the stuff)
Vellum

Haha fuitysuet! I am the same way. I've only gotten ride of a a very few alphabet stamps and still have all of my foam stamps and have still been buying a few here and there.
As for bottle caps, I used them once for a challenge at a crop...which I won, yeah me! The rest of the ones that were in the set were given away.
Oh and if you buy wooden alpha sets you can take them off the wooden block and add cling sheets to them and store them on page protectors or in CD cases. I've done this with most of my stamps. Much easier to store. |

I don't think I follow trends too much; so if I see something I like, I buy it, use it. But, I also rarely toss anything so I have lots of older items but I continue to use them when I feel the need. My problem is always that I forget I have things! That comes from having too much stuff and being an, let's say, Experienced Pea!

I am sitting here with mud on my face because I couldn't think of other way of saying experienced so I used older. Figured it was better than "been around the block."
Bottlecaps are cracking me up, it was because of Little Davis bottlecaps that I started ordering online and discovered two peas. I still have some but they are rusting quite nicely.
Thank you for making my day.

I JUST used it on one of my challenge pages if you care to take a look: Vellum page. That piece of vellum is about 5 years old, I think I bought it way back when I first started scrapbooking.
I believe there is also a Glitter Girl episode called "Vexed by Vellum" if you need more ideas.
