|Posted: 1/13/2013 12:09:35 PM|hi ladies! I just got a silhouette cameo with some Christmas money and I am super excited to use it! I just had a couple of questions and I am hoping someone can help;
Does silhouette ever have sales on designs? if so when? I noticed a clearance selection on some.
Are there any blogs or websites you suggest for designs or freebies?
I am really interested in doing vinyl and t-shirt transfer projects. Any suggestions on sites where I can get good cheap vinyl?
Any other tips or suggestions would be great!!

I just ordered one, too. So I'm in the same boat. But I do know that Kerri Bradford has a lot of stuff for Silhouette. It's kerribradford.com

It's Friday, and I'm ready for the weekend! How about you? Our designers have 16 new kits in the store today, and you're going to love having them on sale all weekend for 25% off! You'll love them even more if you add them to your digi stash.
You know what else you'll love? A sale at SilhouetteAmerica.com! They are are at CHA in California this weekend, and decided to have a 40% off sale to celebrate the release of their new products, which I can't wait to see! This sale excludes electronic cutting tools (CAMEO, Portrait), downloads, gift cards, download cards, and subscriptions, but everything else is fair game! Just use the code JESSICA when checking out to get these prices. Sale starts tomorrow, January 12th and will run through Thursday, January 17th.
Have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!
|Posted: 1/13/2013 12:52:44 PM|They had a 50% off shapes sale over the holiday, but other than that, the shape sales have been sparse this year. They do occasionally have sales on their subscription plans and they have had Plum District voucher deals for Silhouette online (for shapes) as well. I personally, am hoping for another voucher deal soon. I think the last Plum District was for around $14 for $30 worth of shapes.

Be sure and go to the online shape store every Tuesday. They have a free shape and some weekly clearance shapes (usually half off). That's how I've built up my library. Serious sales on shapes seem to only happen during really big holidays.
Have fun with your new toy. You're going to love it!

If you can find an image of the shape you like (say like on google) you can trace it and create your own cut file. The first place I look is google, then I go to the sil store. I have just the basic subscription (regularly priced $10, and I get it for 20% off and pay $8 a month. I get $25 worth of free shapes each month. I have a hard time using the $ before it expires). I also have many Kerri Bradfor designs. If you use PSE you can trace any PNG file and create a cut file...so all those ali edwards photoshop brushes i have..I can cut with the cameo.
I buy vinyl and HTV (heat transfer vinyl)from H&H Sign supply and Expressions Vinyl. I buy most of my heat transfer vinyl for tshirts from Specialty-Graphics. I stay away from CraftVinyl because he does not have great "customer" bedside manner and he is always complaining on other message boards about how his customers are rude (because they inquire about when their order will ship, etc he also has some really stupid rules and system for ordering).
There is a really awesome facebook group called Happy Sil I belong too..this group is mostly about vinyl, but they are so helpful and will answer any question they have..plus they share files they have created :0)
Another facebook page I belong to is Silhouette cameo paper crafts...they are simply awesome with paper crafts.
(sorry for the long post lol)
