Ooo I like the using Christmas in a non-traditional way idea... I have way too much Christmas stuff. I bought more this year for my DD and cards and never ended up doing much with it!

Geez... I glue down some paper onto a layout and there is a million more pages of chat! (That's not actually a complaint, chats aren't fun if no one posts.)

Monica, I keep a pinterest board for my wishlist. Started it last CHA and it's made it much easier. I delete when I buy which is why there are a few things from last CHA still on there. What's sad is it's already quite the list and I haven't even gotten half of what I want pinned yet.

CHA board.

I was at Home Depot the other day and saw a BMW with a Club!! Remember those??? I was about to take a picture when dh stopped me. He said it wasn't very nice and I should respect the guy's privacy since I was taking a picture of the inside of his car. Sometimes, I have to be reminded of stuff like that in this day and age when everyone just snaps photos and posts them on the web.

LOL! Is nothing sacred?

So Jill, your pages are always so fun in subject and appearance. You use great design fun colors and I just want to know, I don't know, any tips for us? You make it look so easy!! I think my all time fave of yours is the birthday one where you talk about catching the ice-cream truck. (i'll grab the link here)

But I just have to say...I am so excited to hear how much people are loving the Glitz stuff. I work for them, and already have the new collections....and I am just GIDDY about them! I have loved using them so far, and know that I am going to be grabbing for them constantly.

I've always liked Glitz. They've always been a little edgy and unique. I noticed them by their wild looking Christmas line several years ago.

I think eyelets would be a real retro throw back and challenging.

Whoa! Now that WOULD be challenging! Alas -- I think I de-stashed mine long ago.

I like the buttons/brads/chipboard numbers suggestions, and I was thinking about using ribbons, too. Choices, choices...

This week's scrap your stash left me out.

I don't have any wood veneer (OH, the horror!)
I thought of subbing wood patterned paper, but wasn't sure if it would be acceptable.

I agree with a lot of what people are saying. I would like to add pre-made die cuts, in particular the vellum ones. I tend to collect those a lot, because I love the look of them. I just never seem to be able to figure out what to do with them.

like neon in small doses, too-like a gray background with some neon washi, etc...I think it goes very well with another new trend...chalkboard!

Margie - I agree! Plus I did the Electric Run 5k last year and that was all basically neon lights. I think I'll be able to incorporate a little neon in my layouts.

Off topic, but I remember the fibre crazy, around 2000 I think? I was in a cardmaming yahoo group at the time and we all used to buy loads of balls of wool and trade it...I remember my boyfriend thought I was insane when he caught me packing envelopes with bits of wool to mail to people
