|Posted: 1/13/2013 10:32:04 PM|I have some punches and like the look of punched borders, but have yet to purchase any particular system. Is there one that people prefer? I've looked at the fiskars interchangeable punch system--seems kind of large--, saw the creative memories one which seems portable, looked at the video for the knock out ones, but wasn't sure how easy it was to line up.
Needless to say, I would love some suggestions
Thanks in advance.

I love my Martha Stewart punches and also I find EK success ones are great especailly because you can "fold the down." Don't know how to explain without a ten minute reply but they take up less space.
I find Martha
Stearts easiest to use as far as lining up for the next punch.

I've never been a big fan of using punches and I don't even touch mine now that I have a cameo. I'll be interested to see if anyone posts some must have punches.

|Posted: 1/14/2013 7:20:20 AM|Mine are almost exlusively Fiskars and Martha Stewart. I have a couple of EK fall ones that I got at Marshall's but not a fan of how they're designed. I love the way the side on teh MS ones fold up (although not all do - I don't have any of the ones that don't).
Here's some I'd recommend:
MS cherish (you can stitch through the holes for another look)
MS flourish lace (you can thread ribbon for another look)
Fiskars threading water (you could also stitch with yarns or weave in this. Or put a dot of stickles, pearls, or rhinestones in the holes)
Fiskars notebook (good basic for any kind of page)
Fiskars apron lace

I love my MS punches, especially the PATP punches because they have yet to not get a WOW factor when people see projects with them!

I'm not a big punch scrapper but I do have several of the EKSuccess ones and I like them.

I'm not a fan of Martha, but LOVE my Martha Stewart punches. Ditto with EK.

I really like the simpliest ones, like fiskars apron lace or upper crest or waever (not trendy but love this one !) or EK Success notebook. I use them a lot !
apron lace border
upper crest border
round binded edge
ITA with these. I don't like the upper crest as much as the others, but don't go overboard with a ton of styles. Oh, one I really like is by MS, it's like a chain of daisies and it cuts them out as a separate strip. Then you can put it anywhere on your page and have another color show through. Hard to explain, but really cool.

I prefer either EK Success (because they can be collapsed to save on storage space) or Martha Stewart (they also store easily and are good quality).
|Posted: 1/14/2013 1:18:03 PM|I love and use the apron lace, postage stamp edge, and notebook edge a lot...I am also using the Jenni Bowlin tag punch to death
I don't have a ton of edge punches but the ones I have are EK and Marth Stewart and I love them!

|Posted: 1/14/2013 2:39:58 PM|I love EK Success and Martha Stewart just for the innovative designs. The only issue with punches for me is storage. However over the door shoe organizers have been a lifesaver. The problem is that I'm running out of doors in my scrap room . I haven't purchased any of the "systems" so I can't provide any input on them.

As for border punches, I have Fiskars, Ek Success and Martha Stewart and like them all. All seem equally easy to line up.

I sold my AC Knock-Outs set because it didn't line up very easily.
I'm a papercrafter in a rush, and didn't want to waste time or paper trying to figure it out. HTH
|Posted: 1/14/2013 3:08:08 PM|I haven't had good luck with the knockout border punches. I can never get them to line up. Wasted a lot of paper. I do like ek success and Martha Stewart punches
|Posted: 1/15/2013 7:53:13 AM|Thanks for all the great ideas. It seems most like the individual punches such as ms, fiskars, and ek success. I will start there and maybe I can find someone with the cm one so I can play first
|Posted: 1/15/2013 6:57:21 PM|I own over 400, is that too many? Martha Stewart punches are made by EK Success so they're pretty easy to use and very sturdy. Save the directions from the MS punches as they have size requirements if you want to do 3x5 or 4x6 mats. I also have the Fiscars interchangeable punch, WRMK Lucky 8's, Marvy Uchida, Punch Bunch, etc. I am pretty pleased with all of them. My advice, get the design that you like and practice with it.
