I see lots of ways to use all the trendy camera icons, but how are you all using the typewriter icons? Maybe someone can share with me how they use the papers, etc? Thanks for any info you care to share.

I'm right there with you. They're cute but I'm not sure I have much use for them.

^^^^^ Add me as another one who is unable to come up with any ideas. Have you thought about looking up "typewriter stamp" in the search feature? Hope this helps some. |

I'm a writer, and I tend to use them for writing related things. |

I haven't even figured out how I would use the cameras, forget about typewriters. |

Some ideas:
A type writer would work when you have reflective journalling or if you are documenting something that's been previously written not written fresh when you make the layout ie. a letter or note from someone
Also for documenting anything computer or social media related so statuses you've typed or convos between people

I would use a typewriter to decorate a journal block.
Or for a "remember when" type page (we used walkmans, you use ipods)

Yes, I can spell. No, my Kindle can't.
Just my humble opinion. And no, I wasn't being mean.

I picked up a typewriter stamp yesterday at M's - just one of the $1.50 ones from the bin... It has "Be Mine" in type on the paper that's coming out of the machine but I plan to cut that off... The wood is about 2x2 so it's a good size for cards or journaling cards... I'll use watermark ink or do a tone on tone stamp with it for the journaling cards... |

I made a layout with actual typewriters the other day at a crop. I am not near my stuff so I cannot tell you what line it was but it was a 12x12 page with little colored typewriters in rows on the entire paper.
I was following one of Scrapbook Generation's sketches and the typewriters were cut out and put across the page as a border. Title, You are just my type. I am using it for photos of me and my grandson.
I have also used a theme like this for Valentine photos. |

That's how I feel. I love the typewriter icon & would use it easily anywhere.
To me, the typewriter & camers both go hand in hand to the photos & journaling on a layout. |

^^This. I also have a lot of use for them as a student/budding writer. And I plan to use some on a LO I have sketched out about my love for the show "Mad Men". They would also work great for nostalgic or heritage pages. I'd love to have a real typewriter in my scrap room one day! |

I am a secretary so I was thinking only "work" for the use of typewriters, but I agree, using them for journalling purpose is a good idea. I like the camera for vacation pictures/layouts.

Cameras I love but typewriters just remind me of school and work I would struggle with them on layouts

I have some typewriter wood veneers that I really like to add to a cluster of embellishments right next to a journaling block. It just seems to fit so beautifully!

Yeah, not sure about those. Maybe with journaling, but I almost always handwrite my journaling, so not sure that would work right, either

My mom was a secretary and my dad's office was next to my bed room when I was growing up and I can remember falling asleep to the peck, peck, peck of him typing out his exams late at night(he was a teacher). I have happy memories so I just basicly collect the wood veneer and stamp typewriters to remind me of my parents! Some day I will do LO's about this part of their lives. |
