|Posted: 1/15/2013 9:44:07 AM|Hey Ladies! In one of the chats someone mentioned that my voice in my Project Life video surprised her. Tashak, was that you? Anyway, I think it was mentioned that I seem tiny so maybe my voice would be tiny. (I really don't think I'm tiny and my voice certainly isn't, but hopefully it's not manly either. ha!!) She was really sweet about it and said I had a nice voice. Don't we all think our voice sounds weird though on film?
It had me thinking...have any of the videos surprised you? Maybe the way the person scrapped wasn't how you thought they would or the process of putting it together came in a way that had you thinking..why didn't I think of that?
We really hope you all are enjoying the videos! I know for several of us it has been a learning experience as videos are not as easy as they might seem. In fact, my first video was a 4 day process that had me looking like this & this But once it was over I was all

I've been loving the videos!
I like to have one playing on my laptop while I'm in the kitchen doing dishes or working on supper. I'm not too familiar with the individual Garden Girls, so no surprises with their voices or anything.
Thanks for all your hard work- I love that there's a new one every day!

Agreed. I am not too familiar with any of the Garden Girls by voice except for those who have appeared on Paperclipping, I find myself far more surprised when I see a face to go along with the voice.
I am absolutely loving the new videos! Informative and SO inspirational.

Not exactly a surprise, but...
...in addition to the great inspiration and instruction, I enjoy how each of the GGs approaches video making--from Amy & Liz's style of talking into the camera (even walking up to it!), to Wilna's pop out image of herself while the mainframe shows her work, as well as the voice-over and the talk-as-you-do formats.
Thank you, GGs and 2Peas, for these diverse and high-quality videos!!
|Posted: 1/15/2013 12:31:50 PM|I have been surprised by some of the accents. I guess because I didn't ever research or "look up" where each of the garden girls was from,so when I first hear them talk, I'm like because the "voice" is different, not bad, just different.
I love, love, love the videos! Lots of great ideas & inspiration. I also like how each GG comes at a LO from a different direction. some start with the photo, some with a blank cardstock, some with 20 pattern papers... It gives me tons of ideas of how I can mix up my own scrapping!
|Posted: 1/15/2013 12:40:40 PM|I also love the videos Thanks for making them!

|Posted: 1/16/2013 4:17:48 AM|The accents yes, the videos just love them - my creativity has gone on overload, everyday there is another idea churning from what I have seen, thank you Garden Girls
|Posted: 1/16/2013 5:01:50 AM|I am loving the videos and wanted to say thanks
|Posted: 1/16/2013 5:18:56 AM|I don't notice accent as english is not my mother language, but I always need a little time to be used to the pronounciation and above all when they speak fast !
But anyway, videos are easier to understand as you have the image with it. And I am so glad to watch them, thanks for that !
I am always a little surprised by the real voices because when I only see photos and read posts, I don't imagine voices at all, only written language !.
I don't mean that the voices aren't nice, of course, just that I often didn't imagine them at all...
Oh, and I think your voice is really really nice, lexibrigges.

I know Wilna is originally from here in South Africa, so I was surprised at my surprise (does that make sense?) at how pronounced her accent still is. She's still a SA Girl!
One voice that did catch me totally by surprise was Jamie Sorensen. Her voice is a lot more 'girlie' that I imagined. Not a bad thing, just different

Nothing has surprised me yet as I'm not so familiar with everyone, but I'm loving the new videos and am very grateful that the GGs take the time to make them. They are brill, very inspirational and I'm really looking forward to watching them all!

|Posted: 1/16/2013 1:34:01 PM|I'm another Pea who is enjoying getting to know even more Garden Girls via their videos! I'm learning so much by seeing the variety in their approaches to scrapbooking. Some scrap very precisely and others are more creative as they "go with the flow".
I'm actually even learning about their "creative process" by seeing the state of their desk tops!
I think that if unsure newbies watch just a few of these videos that they will rapidly gain confidence because it's easy to see their is no one "correct" way to scrap. It's ALL good!
Thanks for all the hard work Garden Girls - we truly are learning so much and appreciate the work you put into these videos!

I love seeing the diversity from GGs from different countries, and love the accents! I tend to prefer watching videos from people with accents, because I just love listening to them so much.

I was very surprised by Amy Tan's project life video. Her product line doesn't really fit in with my style so I wasn't sure her style of scrapbooking would be very useful for me. To my surprise, her video was great, her technique was very similar to how I approach a page and I think it even convinced me to try a little of her stuff.

I would imagine the videos are a lot of work!! It is fun listening to everyone and putting a voice with a face. Some I am familiar with. I love listening to the international girls. But, I love accents. I love that Shimelle is picking up the British accent. I love listening to Janna. I took 3 years of German in high school and if you don't use it, you lose it. Well, I've lost it. I don't remember much anymore. LOL But it is fun recognizing words in her journaling. It is fun seeing everyone's different styles.
|Posted: 1/16/2013 4:34:00 PM|Lexi, I love your videos and style.
I treat myself now everyday to watching the GG videos. It's such a great break from the voice of "Spongebob Squarepants"
