I spent all last night packing for a scrapbooking weekend in the Berkshires that starts Friday afternoon. This will be my 7th year at this reatreat, and it is my all time favorite weekend of the year. Paper, punches, stamps, embellies all sorted and organized into easily accessible containers. Have my dictionary and extra adhesive. Got all the sticky gunk off my scissors and replaced the blade on my trimmer. Even planned out my table space. Also packed the suitcase and snacks. Everything ready to go, EXCEPT I CAN'T FIND MY PHOTOS! Was up until 3 a.m. tearing the house apart trying to find them. No luck. Am afraid they are lost forever and am sick at heart. I can sense your enthusiasm and excitement just from what you have written.

Oh no! Are they in an envelope from the developer's/printer's? Those are so easy to lose between sheets of paper -- BTDT!
Are they digital, any chance you can run out and reprint at least some, if not all, of them?

I've got my fingers crossed that you find then and SOON so you can relax before leaving.
Is there any way you can reprint them? I've misplaced mine, still looking, but was able to print the one I wanted at home. When I find the original from the processor I may or may not replace it. | |

Hope you find them - I'd also love your packing tips. I am going to my first weekend crop next weekend and am overwhelmed by the thought of packing up. |

Thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers.
Still haven't found the photos. These are from the early 90's so no digital reprints for me. Unfortunately I also keep the prints and negatives together until I'm done scrapping so literally all is lost. I've been working on this multi-year project for a while and am afraid I left them at a previous crop. I've called all over but no one has them.
In the meantime, I'm repacking to scrap for photos I actually do have. Am determined to enjoy this weekend NO MATTER WHAT! (Even if I do have that kinda sick to my stomach feeling).

Aww....sounds like you're going to make the best of it either way, but I hope they turn up!
A suggestion....I lost a big group of pics a few months ago. Found them in a bag I hadn't unpacked from a previous crop. I had looked there, but I pictured them in one type of envelope, but they were found in a completely different sort of envelope, so they were really overlooked in relative plain sight. Any chance you have supplies/a bag that wasn't unpacked last time? Just a thought! |

Just to inject a little humor, I can almost promise you they will show up as soon as you have unpacked and repacked.
Could you just do pages without the photos and then stick them down when you find the pics?

Oooooooh noooooes! Oh I am keeping my fingers crossed for you, so much! I get a bit panicky just thinking about it!  You sound so enthusiastic and well organized, I feel so bad that you can't find your photos!
They will turn up when you leat expect it, I promise!
Once, when I was going on a long trip, I lost my passport just days before departure. I tore my home apart and could not find it anywhere, and had to go a police station adn apply for a temporary express passport. It took hours and cost a lot of money. On my way home, I for some reason rumaged through my handbag, and notice that the inner lining was ripped. And then I found my passport in there, inside the ripped lining.
So typical...
I haven't been to a big crop or retreat ever, but this makes me think and plan ahead. Maybe it's a good idea to print up contact info on simple labels and stick them on anything important, like folders with photos, that way it might have a greater chance to find it's way home. |

Oh goodness, I sure hope those pics show up! I spend all last sat scanning two photo boxes full of pics (pics to Disney and Knotts, Easter, etc.) DD lost her mem card and I didn't have copies of any of these pics! Now they are all on my external HD and i'll be burning cds this weekend. Scared me to think there was no back up on those pics! Have a wonderful trip!! | |
