Are you familiar with the Stanford Marshmallow experiment from the '70s where a kid was seated with one marshmallow on the table in front on him/her and promised two marshmallows if (s)he could be patient and wait while no one else was in the room?

Well, if someone had left Dear Lizzy's Lucky Charm on your scrap desk, and told you that IF you do not touch any of the items in the Lucky Charm collection for a week (no one is looking), you will get Maggie Holmes collection from Crate Paper, as well. Could you do it?

Evil, isn't it?

I'd like to think that I could leave it alone, but if I had the actual product sitting on my desk... I don't know... It would be hard not to fondle the papers just a little bit. lol!

oooh interesting lol I have very little self control so I would think I would end up touching, but on the other hand I do like freebies so I may just be able to hold out

Can I still play with my other stuff? I could so pass this test if my stash could be used. Of course, I'm one of those people who sometimes unpacks their order a month after getting it.

If I could still look at it, then yes. Lol. Sometimes I go into my craft room just to "visit" my stash and admire how pretty everything is. I know, I'm a big weirdo.

Apparently I would be quite good at this. There is plenty of other stuff in my craft room that I just "had to have" and I have managed to avoid touching that!

Good point Hilsmom
I am terrible at this.
I have occasionally ordered something online (or knew it was coming in a kit) but then, when I found it at the LSS before it was delivered, bought it anyway! I am a terrible impulse buyer.

I want to know what the kids did. Cause maybe then I wouldn't feel so bad about my impulse buying!

I could do it, but only because I want the Maggie Holmes more than the Lucky Charm.

Now, if it was chocolate sitting on that table, I'd be done for.

I am an Olympic-Standard Procrastinator, as well as a collector of scrap stuff more than a user of it. Add my lack of time to scrap due to w*rk & I am confident I would pass your test with flying colours! Sign me up, I will take on all the responding Peas!

I could totally do it. I'm having a hard time thinking of anything in the world that would tempt me.

I think that experiment only works on kids who rely on adults for food, water, money and have no internal clock to gauge the length of time. A grown up can walk out of that room and go buy a marshmallow or some glitter!

I could do it. Sometimes I have excellent self control, if it benefits myself and getting extra product is definitely a benefit!

This would be a great test... my OLW this year is actually 'self-control'! I think I could do it as long as I could use anything else in my stash, I have a lot I'd like to use up before getting new lines. And if I got to look at Lucky Charm in person right now... that would be amazing enough

I could do it. If they put it on my desk, does it count if I just touch it to move it out of the way so I can scrap with my other stuff? My desk isn't all that big and it would be in my way.

If, and only IF, the MH/Crate Paper bonus included some of those D-ring hanger thingies. Then, YES. I would control myself long enough to get those!!

I was reading the boards on my phone during my bus ride home from work and this made me laugh out loud. I got some *very* strange looks

So all the people on my bus now think I'm a crazy person

I would like to think I could do it, but it is so hard to resist picking up, touching, and looking (and even smelling) new supplies.

Hmmm...not sure.

LOL--what a cute question! I could do it, but it would be extremely difficult and I could do it only because I know that the reward would be the Maggie Holmes line---both of these lines are my favorite!

Of course, I would be able to manage this feat only because I am a superior "blue eyed" scrapper (refrencng the famous Jane Elliot Blue eyed/Brown eyed experiment)lol!!!!!
