Hey ladies! I've been scrapbooking for awhile and then stopped for like 2 years. Just now getting back into and I've gone craft crazy!! I have seen a few things about this Project Life and think I'd like to get into it. It looks like a quicker way of documenting every life to me, but could someone explain it to me? Much appreciated! Thanks.

google Becky Higgins and check out her blog. It's her system and she explains in great detail what it is. I think she has a video too.

Project Life is a scrapbooking system that uses 12x12 divided page protectors and a core kit of journaling and "title" cards to create weekly (or monthly or yearly or event) spreads. The most popular design is Design A which allows you 8 4x6 spots and 8 journaling spots per 2 page spread.

I have love this system! I do a picture a day, however I have started this year with more of a "weekly snapshot" approach of looking through my photos and picking out the best/most appropriate for the week to include instead of being strictly one photo for each day. (mostly because I took some BAD photos (blurry/in bed of the TV because I forgot until 10pm ect. that really didn't tell anything noteworthy)

Project Life is Becky Higgins' promotion that began with documenting your life on a daily basis.

On two facing 12x12 plastic pages, there were 8 4x6 slots and 8 2x3 slots. That meant that you could put a title for the week card in one 4x6 and a photo for every day of the week in the remaining 7. The 2x3 slots gave a perfect place to journal about each photo with one slot available for a decorative card.

This is a brilliant system for people who do one photo a day, or for people who are great at keeping diaries or journals.

For people like me, it fell short. I hate that daily thing with.a.passion.

The industry began making pages with many more combinations of pockets and even Project Life has begun marketing cards geared for themes, such as a baby's first year of life, to broaden the original idea.

Instead of working on a larger layout or finding plastic sleeves that may hold your photos as is, as were the options before this, you can now have a mixture. You can slip photos in without doing anything to them, and/or you can add journaling and embellishments as you desire.

It's great if you have a lot of photos that you want to include in a 12x12 space and still have it look good. In fact, you can combine photos in a program like Photoshop so that you have multiple small photos collaged onto either a 4x6 or 2x3 (the most common size slots) to add even more photos and it still looks well organized and pleasing to the eye!

You just can't fit that many photos on 12x12 layouts as easily or quickly and have them look as good page after page after page as you can with these divided pages.

Basically? You write down (and or photograph) what you do on a weekly basis and document it. Random outings, kids games, movies, stuff like that. I do mine on my blog for easy record keeping, then go back and make the scrap pages when I can get photos printed.

You can make it as simple or as complicated as you like. Muck it up with divided page protectors and kits or just make a layout on a regular 12x12 with your stash. There's really nothing fantastical, fanatical, or amazing about it. It's more an idea of keeping track of your day-to-day cos believe it or not, that routine isn't going to be the same forever and it'll be nice to look back on.

This is absolutely wonderful for a photo a day!

If you take mostly horizontal photos, you want the A pages. (Becky Higgins. Other brands have the same pockets, but I don't know what they're called.)

If you take mostly vertical photos, you want the D pages.

If you take both, as I do, you can either get both, or look into some of the other pages that mix both on the same page. (Harder to find.)

Any day you don't take a photo, either journal or slip in a decorative card..... or paper, quote, movie ticket, etc.
