I received an email today from the owner of my lss. Her family is moving in the summer and plans for the store are up in the air. The owner said she hopes that a person(s) will be come new owners but nothing is set and we will learn about happenings as they unfold. I'm seriously so bummed. This store is great. The owner, people who work there, product, classes. If I had the money I'd swoop in but alas I don't. Ugh, this was not the first email I wanted to see this morning. And it makes me nervous because no new product is being ordered. Oh please please please do not close!

I feel your frustration. All of the scrapbook stores in my area are closed, except I think there is a little store 1/2hour away open. I've never really shopped there but all of my favorite stores have closed.

That's a bummer. I hope it all works out because losing a good LSS is a tough pill to sallow. |

We have one other store that is about a 15 minute drive. But to me their products seem dated and lean toward the cutesy stuff. We have a michaels and Joann's all within 15 minutes as well. But the next best scrapbook store is a 30+ minute drive, depending on traffic.

Oh, I am sorry.
My LSS is in Berkeley, CA. They just ordered tons of stuff from CHA, so I don't think it's them.
It's a tough business, but yours sounds like a good one.

Has2005: who is closing?
I'm sad for you, having a LSS close by, one who has fun, new, exciting products...that makes this hobby sooooooo much more enjoyable. It's a little like moving...you lose that comfort of 'home.'
HOWEVER, I have to say, I drive an hour + to get to Scrapbook Territory!! I think there is at least one store closer to me (I'm in Santa Cruz) but the Territory is THE place for fun, new, and exciting. I would be so happy if it was only a 30 minute drive.
Diane (owner of Territory) told me that she ordered a ton of stuff from CHA, so I think it will be worth you drive. New product arrives at SBT practically every day. She also has a pretty cool incentive program.
Tell Diane that Barbara (and Lindy!! HI LINDY!!) sent you.
Keep your fingers crossed, maybe someone will step up and buy your LSS.

I am sad your LSS is potentially closing. Maybe someone will buy it to keep it running although I am not sure how wise of an investment that would be. I always find it amazing when ladies go in a scrapbook store and say something like "wow, your inventory is way down. I havent been here in over a year but you use to have more stuff." And then come to the counter with a $4.00 package of something. Well, duh..... Wouldnt it be better to just keep your mouth closed if you only shop a store once or twice a year and spend very little then?

I can't figure out which one it is either...besides SBT and SB Island, what other LSS are around here? The others I can think of have closed recently (Jazzy Crafts and the one in Fremont).

Sorry, I was able to finally jump on here. Im not sure if they are closing. I believe they have a few avenues they are going to try. It's Art Inspired Studio in Brentwood. Far East bay. I'm just so bummed. I am crossing my fingers that one of the ladies who works there will buy it.

I received their newsletter, too. The reason for closing seems to center on the husband's job being transferred to Houston, TX and she expects the family to be moving there by summer.
