|Posted: 1/20/2013 1:49:57 PM|I have a question about what inks to use with these stamps. I have the close to my heart inks and I cannot get a crisp image with these stamps. I don't know if it is the ink, the stamp, or operator error what type of inks do you use with these specific stamps? Thanks so much!!!!!

I like versafine.

I use Jenni Bowlin or Distress depending on the look I want and both work well.

I use amuse pigment inks on solid images like these. They are awesome, but not available in stores. Still highly recommended though.

What do you mean by depending on the look that I want I will use JB or distress inks? How is the look different? I don't have any JB inks, so I really don't know anything about them.

I have found CTMH inks don't do well with clear stamps other than their brand. I tried using them with TC stamps for my DD and was disappointed with the image.

I get the best results with these solid image stamps using Memento inks

I love Fresh Ink (which is available through Impress Rubber Stamps and is, to my understanding, the same formulation as the Amuse inks).

I use versafine as well. Have you tried using versamark and then your regular ink? Someone suggested that to me recently and it worked really well on another stamp set I had.

I have never heard of the eraser idea. That sounds really cool. I don't have any issues with any of the other AE stamps, just the banners. So that made me think that it was the ink and not the stamp. I will have to try that. The other ink ideas are great too.
Will the distress inks make a crisp image?

I have the same stamps and my favorite inks to use with them are Versafine for black and Prima Chalk Ink for colors. The hero arts shadow inks don't work well with them.

distress inks are more of a technique ink. You won't get a perfectly crisp image with them as compared to versafine, but you will get a very good image. If you want perfectly crisp, go with versafine.
