I have been looking for a file box or storage cube to store my 12x12 paper but have not had much luck. I had a 31 party yesterday and they have a storage cube that i think would work and would match my decor but I am hesitant to use something that doesn't have a lid. It will be on a storage shelf so will be somewhat protected from dust (maybe)? Anyway, I'm just curious if anyone has used this method and if so, what do you think? Are the cubes sturdy enough for all of that paper? |

I've stored my paper and cardstock upright in boxes for years. I kept them on the floor under my desk, so they did get dusty. For a while I tried keeping a foamcore board over top, but then it just turned into another flat surface for me to pile stuff on.  So I had to do away with the cover. It is really easy to dust paper when it's store like that. It just sits on the top and can be blown or vacuumed off. |

I use a plastic crate from Walmart. Works fine for me. 12 x 12 fits perfectly. | |

I store all my cardstock and patterned paper in Cropper Hopper paper holders. I have used them for 10 years and haven't had a problem with dust or light.
I think Creative Memories used to sell a file box with a lid and hanging file folders. |

My paper is in a Cropper Hopper on the table, and my scraps and 6x6 live in a metal rack with open wire baskets in it. No problems with fading or dust in either.
I had a 12x12 cube from Ikea - one of these http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/30219281/
which I kept my 12x12 cs in, it was fine except I don't have a lot of cs and it kept slipping in the box and it was a pain to sort through. I think it would have been fine if there was more it it  |

I store my papers upright with out a lid on. But I keep the papers craft bags so they don't get dusty. Or I keep it in the packaging it came with. |

What about draping a pretty doily over it (like our grandmamas used to do on their pretty side tables)? Then, if it gets dusty, you just shake THAT out, or launder it, while your paper stays pristine. Just a thought.

I have my paper in rubbermaid hanging file boxes and I don't find it getting dusty at all. |

i have most of my paper stored in two woven baskets at the far edge of my desk. the baskets are probably 13" wide and 16-18" long. i like them up on the desk because i can stand there and leaf through them. they don't get dusty because when i vacuum my room, i run the vacuum nozzle over them to dust them off.
i also have paper stored in about 7 accordion folders in my cabinet. i don't like that storage much because if i don't see the paper or have immediate access to them, i tend not to use them as much. |

I have a big plastic bin that I keep the majority of my paper in. It's under my desk. But it's sorted in craft keepers which have flaps over the top. |

I store my paper in a used Priority mail box with the flaps cut off. I've never had an issue with dust, although the box is under a shelf. I think I rifle through my papers often enough that dust wouldn't really accumulate. | |

Mine are stored upright and uncovered. I found some file folder containers a few years back that 12 x 12 papers fit perfectly in. I use the Cropper Hopper dividers to separate the mfgs. They are on a shelf away from any light so they don't fade. |

Most of my paper is stored in CH vertical paper holders. I've never noticed an issue with dust. |

I also store my paper in the upright CH containers. I haven't noticed any issues with dust, and it gets pretty dusty here in general (it's really dry). I do flip through my papers pretty often though. |

I store my paper in hanging folders in an old milk create, on a shelf in the basement. Not ideal, but it works for my small bedroom/craft space. | |

I have paper in both horizontal paper bins and in open top holders. I prefer the open top style. I have a clear large tub into which I put Cropper Hopper paper holders and keep it under my craft table. I found that system allows me to quickly flip through that paper and it's much more efficient. I put a large piece of poster board on top to keep it dust free but -- I know myself -- it's not sturdy enough to put other stuff on top of! So it keeps me from turning it into another "table". | |

Thanks. I am still not sure what to do, primarily because I am not sure how sturdy they will be. I might just get one and see how it works. If I want more I can get more later (but it would be cheaper now). If I don't like it I can use it for something else.
I used to store my paper primarily in Crop in style paper takers but a few years ago got a bunch of CM plastic envelopes that I now use to put paper lines in. I still have some paper in paper takers but most has migrated to a rolling bag and two large tote bags that sit on my floor. I like to be able to look through the paper when there is more of it together instead of the paper takers. When I go somewhere else to scrap I just take the envelopes that I need. |

My paper is in open top containers and has been for about 15 years.
As long as its kept out of the sun, I have no problems. Very little dust, and no fading |

I have some of my paper in Cropper Hoppers on top of my Jet Max cubes and the paper is fine. |
