I have a giant pile of boxes sitting in my living room and I am getting ready to go through and check the last of them off. YAY!!

UPDATE--I am being sent out of town for work from February 28th to March 10th in order to open a new store (Great Opportunity--Horrible Timing) therefore I am changing the Postal Date on this Swap to March 5th. I will have them swapped out and on their way back to you by March 15th. This has all come about very suddenly as the other supervisor dropped out at the last minute. Thank you for understanding and if you have any question please let me know.

Feathers and Flowers Swap

I love making flowers and feathers for my pages, altered items and Art journal and I know that the Peas are a group of amazingly talented ladies. We are seeing so many feathers in the new CHA Lines and this is one trend I am really liking. So as the title implies I would like to open a handmade Flower/Feather Swap.

There are 9 different categories. Each group will consist of 5 ladies so you will each make 10 Identical Flowers/Feathers for each group you sign up for and you will receive 10 different flowers back (including 2 of your own).

Sign ups are now closed. These are due postmarked by Thursday March 5th. That gives you 4 weeks for create and mail. I will have these all swapped out and on their way back to you by Monday March 15th. That will give 10 days from the postmark date for your packages to get to me and for me to swap them back out.

Swap Requirements-

1)Each category will have a material (Flowers-Cardstock or PP, Cloth and Open)(Feather-Cardstock or PP and Real)
2)You will make 10 identical flowers and or feathers for each category using the material stated.
3)If you choose the open category for flowers, Please let me know what material you will be using.
4)Try to keep your flowers between 1"-2". You can sign up for the open category if you wish to make something much larger.
5)Each Flower must be dimensional (2 layers or more) and Embellished. No flat plain cardstock flowers.
6)The feathers will be categorized by length and Real. (Meaning Real Feathers)
7)There will also be one open category for other embellishments in the same line(i.e. Stick Pins , Decorated Die cuts, etc.)
8)You can sign up for the other category under flowers if you wish to use other materials, Tissue paper, Paper Bags etc.Or you wish to make Extra Large Flowers.
9)Dress them up and make them pretty. Ink, Glitter, Stickles, Micro Beads etc. Whatever you like.
10)Most Importantly follow the Golden Rule--Do not send anything that you would not wish to receive in return.

UPDATED TO BETTER EXPLAIN BRIGHT VS. NEUTRAL
BRIGHT--Any Cardstock, Patterned Paper or Fabric with is Bright or Jewel Toned.
NEUTRAL--Amy Cardstock, Patterned Paper or Fabric with a neutral tone such as: Kraft, Grey, Cream, White etc.

EXAMPLES:

Bright-
1)Bright Patterned Paper
2)Bright Fabric Example

Neutral-
1)Neutral Cardstock/Patterned Paper
2)Neutral Fabic/Colors
3)Neutral Fabric

Shipping--

Paper flowers are easily damaged in the mail so I ask that you ship your flowers in a small box or other uncrushable mailer. Items received damaged beyond use will be returned to sender without being swapped out. Inside each package please place a Ziploc bag containing a card with you 2 Peas ID and Group Type & Number along with you shipping address so that I know who you are and where to send them. Please Include enough postage for the return trip in the Ziploc bag. Generally the amount it took to send it to me +0.75-1.00 in case other people have made larger items than yourselves. Items received without postage will not be returned until postage is paid.

Ship Finished Flower/Feathers To:

If you have not checked in I will contact you through Pea-Mail. If I have not heard form you within 3 days I will freeze you from this swap and place an angel in your place. I will notify all other hostess on the boards of your failure to communicate. After that it is up to them as to whether not they will allow you to participate in their swaps.

Gus-Gus- Old cookbook Paper is fine.
I Love flowers made from books, I just made a bouquet of "storybook Roses" from Pride and Prejudice. My brother was throwing it away and I was like "NO! I can cut that up and make something pretty out of it." He just laughed at me.

Yes, I think I'd like a spot in the open anything goes flower group too. I will use crepe paper.

Also, do you have pics or links of examples of what you're looking for in the feathers categories? I have some ideas, just not sure I we're on the same page.

Gus-Gus- Grey is Fine. I guess I should have been more specific.

With the both the paper and cloth flowers in the bright category any cardstock or patterned paper that has a bright or jewel tone to it is fine. For the Neutral Flowers anything that has a neutral tone, Greys, Cream, White, Kraft ETC. is fine.

I bought a big shot and a few dies with some Christmas money and used it to make fabric flowers this afternoon. This was my very first attempt. I hot glued this one on a hair clip and gave it to my daughter. I haven't decided what kind of flower I'm going to do for this swap yet. Since I'm new to this does anyone want to suggest any favorite floral dies? I'm thinking I'll be making hair accessories for my daughters this weekend. First flower attempt

It looks great. I only have two flower dies and it never even crossed my mind to use them. Thanks.

I made a set of flowers today too. I will take pics and let y'all see them.

Hi, I would love to do fabric flowers. I made some on a card once and everyone liked it. My question, the fabric is simple cotton with small flowers, mostly pink or maybe light aqua. Which catagory would these be in? They are very simple and will have buttons also. I have a few different cotton fabrics, nothing too bright. I may use the white background with small flowers. Thanks zipper28

Zipper28- If the flowers are on a white, cream, or light brown background I would consider it to be a neutral. I went back and added links in the OP to better explain brights VS. Neutrals. Really there are no rights and wrongs or steadfast examples I can give. That being said I consider a neutral something that you can put with just about anything. I will add you to the Neutral fabric flowers. If you want any other spots just let me know.

Wren--My first attempts never look that good!! lol

Will you add me to fabric flowers both neutral and bright? I'd also like a mystery spot but I'll have to get back to you on what I'm doing.
