Has anyone used a "talking tag" on a scrapbook layout?

I bought a pack of these at Joanns just after Christmas because they were only $1 and I thought they'd be super cute on a scrapbook layout. Imagine years down the road having your grandchildren hearing your voice! But today I saw an advertisement for the Sizzix talking tags and apparently the message is only stored for up to 2 years! WTF? I'm not sure who manufactures the tags I bought, but I'm wondering if anyone has used them and if there is a way to keep the message indefinitely...

These are sale on another board and there are apparently 2 types...one stores for 1-2 years and the other indefinitely...but you have to have a smart phone to scan the code....wonder how that will work as technology advances.

I just bought a few over the weekend. My youngest DS is in marching band and after Christmas the marching band went to Orlando to march in the Citrus parade. I took a few videos of them that day and another mom has the performace in front of the grandstands. I wanted to use one of these tags on a layout for him and myself. Now I'm wondering if it's worth it....

The concept is amazing... But I'm not sure about how they'll work in years to come either. Good thing I only paid $1 for them!
