It is so true that when you have a GREAT subject weather it be a person, a sunset, or a special item, it makes your photography better
Jadia is almost 12 years old and her mother wanted pictures so I drove 2 hours to shoot her.
She really was a photogenic little girl...

Lovely! These are great!
If you don't mind me saying so, the second one seems a little cool.
She is fabulous! I can't pick a favorite out of them, her personality shines right through!

She is very photogenic and you did an outstanding job with these. Love the punch of color on several of these as well.

Love what you did with these - especially the ones with the dark hat which make her eyes really shine! And thank you for letting her be 12 and not making her look too old and inappropriately sexy for her age. These are fun loving and super age appropriate without making her look too little-kidish - kwim?
Also, love that blue door! Love it!

Great pictures!!
I have a soon-to-be 12-year-old daughter who is the same way. We went to take some pre-birthday pictures yesterday and she did a fabulous job. It was so easy and I was thrilled to take pictures of her. OTOH, I also took out my soon-to-be 13-year-old son and it was a total pain to get a natural smile out of him; have him look at the camera; keep his eyes open; etc. Both of us were done after about 5 minutes but we forged ahead. I got maybe half a dozen decent shots of him and will have to go out another day to get more. Uggghh...so frustrating!

Terrific set! She definitely is a great model - but you also did a great job. I agree with the above poster that you struck the right tone - age appropriate with a good balance between fun and style.

She is a very pretty girl. It might be my laptop monitor, but it appears that your camera is front focusing.

BTW....Momstime....what is front focusing?
It is when the lens focuses in front of where you are pointing focus. It appears on my laptop screen that in most of the photos the model's eyes (which should be the focal point in a portrait) are soft, but if you look at a closer plane (hands, hair, nose, hat...it varies per photo), that part is sharply focused. It could be the lens, the camera, user error or just my laptop.
This isn't CC, as you didn't ask for it.
I'm an old time photo pea, from back when everyone gave CC for everything posted and most of the helpful peas were driven off by the drama and hurt feelings. I'm really only posting this to make you aware to check your lenses for focus accuracy. If this is just my laptop issue, carry on.

Beautiful shots! Love the last two photos. Just wondering, why aren't there any photos with teeth? I would've loved seeing a big, cheesy grin!
