How are you all doing? Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Sunday I made German Fresh Apple Bread. Today I baked Molasses Peanut Butter Cookies and made corn chowder. It has been SO cold here, with temps around 0 and below at night and low teens during the day. Seems like the house is a bit warmer with something cooking on the stove or baking in the oven.
I have gained back some of what I lost, so this week I really need to get back on track.
This week I want to:
make a Valentine card
drink more water
|Posted: 1/22/2013 7:29:58 AM|Hello Fellow CC's.
Betsy... the baking and cooking sound delicious.
Last night at my WW meeting, we discussed the WW recipe for Taco Soup, 3 points per serving.
I did a quick google search and it came up on food.com
I think I'll put those ingredients on my shopping list for this week.
But the best thing is that I am now over 20 pounds down! Hurray!
A question for those that have made their goal... how do you determine what it should be? I know for my ht (5'-2" that I should be between 109-137. How do you pick one number? Tell me if I am wrong in my thinking... say I am going for 135. A number that is below the 137, but won't I make "goal" and lifetime status sooner and therefore not have to pay anymore? Ideally I would like to be less, but I don't like paying.

Honestly, I pick a goal weight that is #1 not too difficult to reach but #2 is also not THAT hard to maintain. I don't know about you, but I don't want to have to work TOO HARD (6 day a week HARD exercise, constant restriction on what I eat, etc., etc.) just so I can say I weigh 130...KWIM?
Betsy...your baking sounds yummy; I would so love the recipe for the German Apple Bread as I think this is something my hubby and girls would really go for.
I need to make some birthday cards this week. When my daughter went to raid my stash, there were very few birthday cards to choose from.
|Posted: 1/22/2013 11:22:21 PM|Hi Ladies!
Betsy - your cooking sounds yummy! And I will quit complaining about our 30 degree mornings that warm up to the 60's! 0 degrees is way colder!!
I also have gained back a couple pounds. I have been extremely lazy!
dogcarbon - that taco soup sounds delicious. Congrats on your continued weight loss that is great!
For my height (5'7", my ideal weight is between 120 and 160. My ultimate goal weight is 135/140. When I met dh, I weighed 120, and I looked super skinny (my mom thought I was too skinny), but I exercised hard 6-7 days a week and I ate very well.
20 years and 3 kids later and the stresses of life, I don't think that is doable for me now. So I picked somewhere in the middle. I would still be thrilled to be at the top end of that at 160. So my short term goal is 20-25 lbs which would put me within my range.
My plan this week -
-Exercise in the morning no matter how tired I feel or how cold I think it is!
-work on 2 digital layouts and order those plus 8 other layouts I have

I swear this week is just flying by of course it doesn't help when you got two sick babies and one having a major stuffy nose ugh never fails i think i need to change my one little word from Joy to something else.. no joy for me this month even through I'm trying to find it. I have been holding my little baby boy for past two days... if he is not better tomorrow, i'm taking him to doc I think he got some major teething going on. as he only have three on top and two on the bottom I thought he would have more by now.
so for this week, I am just hanging by I also need to step up on eating I didn't realize how much the prescription helps me. I know i can do it just taking the time to really not fall back to old habits..
one good news--bf got a job at Gaints. it is only part time but it is better than nothing. however worrying about next year, as that health care plan will be in effect. I will have to figure out how to get insurance for him. he is going to look into gaints if they have something affordable.
I'm still organizing my room slowly but bf gave me order to clean out the other room to start fixing that room up. Yeah so i just going to move it over and try to organize it more. Right now, I'm trying to find some kind of storage for my sizzix dies.. I was suppose to purchase five of those towers from a scrapping friend. she did promise me them then i found out she sold them to someone else. grrr... so now i have to find something for them after taking them out of previous storage and i use them for other items.
be back got fussy boy...

Michele - sorry you're having a time with your little ones being sick. That is so hard. Glad that your bf got a job, even part time will help. My dh is still looking - he has another interview on Friday that looks promising.
I have been thinking about "my one little word" and I have finally come up with something - disciplined. As in I need to be disciplined in my eating and exercise habits in order to reach my goals. I am totally lacking in this area.
Anyone else have a word for the year to share?

Now i'm fighting a head cold or allergy not sure which yet. blah I hate when weather gets cold. We are heading down to his mom's surprise birthday party when he get back from his orientation for work.
I'm hoping later tonight I will catch up on everyone's posts and set up for next week goals. I haven't gain any weight, knocking on wood but i really want to add exercise and fight that blah moment of not doing it. Just do it!! is what i need to say to myself.. and set a time to do it.

Hi, all! I have put on a few pounds and have to get back on track. I'm finding it harder to exercise in the cold weather. I have to work on that! There are a few things that I want to accomplish this week:
Drink more water. (I'm doing better at this!)
Move more. Stick to cardio but vary the routines.
Make more copies of sign in sheets for club, parent pickup and DIGS groups.
Get takeout food carton to make new letter game.
Prep the rest of the groundhog project.
Make a greeting card.
Decide if I want to go to net Friday's crop.
|Posted: 1/26/2013 11:36:19 PM|Michele - Hope every is healthy soon!
I am having these blah moments too! Sometimes I just don't feel like doing what I need to be doing!
i really want to add exercise and fight that blah moment of not doing it. Just do it!!
Staci - I'm pretty sure I've gained a pound or two. I'm too afraid to get on the scale to confirm though. I need to get back on track too! And go to the crop! That would be the easiest decision for the week for me!!
2012- Calorie Cropper Motto: Just think where you will be a year from now, if you start TODAY!
2011- Calorie Cropper Motto: PROGRESS, not Perfection!
Michele - I noticed your CC Mottos from the last two years. I think we need to come up with something for this year. Any ideas anyone?
|Posted: 1/27/2013 5:43:27 PM|Leisa, we do have a motto for this year. I posted it the first week in January, but have forgotten to post it on the weekly threads. I will try to remember to do that. Here is the Calorie Cropper's motto for this year:
"When you improve a little bit each day, eventually big things occur. Don't look for big, quick improvement. Instead, seek small improvement one day at a time. That's the only way it happens -- and when it happens, it lasts." ~ John Wooden
