This week's winner is TINKGUMBY!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats!!!! Peamail me your address!
Hello Scrappers! Welcome to the fourth set of scrapping challenges for January.
I've decided to host a weekly challenge thread here at Two Peas. The more you play, the more chances you have to win a small scrapping goody from me and the more pages you will get done!
Please link up your creation in this thread for a chance to win and I will also have a challenge box you can check during the upload process.
Look for **Stash Busters Challenge**
**You can combine all these prompts. Each prompt you use is good for one chance to win...so use 3 prompts on one layout = 3 chances to win!***
*************************************************************************
These challenges close at 11:59pm PST on January 28th.
*************************************************************************
Prompt Number 1
Alter some chipboard!
Cover a shape or a letter with a piece of patterned paper, or ink it, or paint it or glitter it or even cover it in washi tape!
Prompt Number 2
Use this sketch that is on the Basic Grey website. It's a 2 pager but feel free to just pick one side and do a one pager.
Sketch by Susan Stringfellow
Link to Basic Grey blog is HERE
Don't forget to link up your project over there for an extra chance to win!
Prompt Number 3
Use ribbon. I have a huge stash or ribbon. Use a little or a lot on a page. Baker's twine counts here too!
A page featuring ribbon (by Cindy Tobey):
Prompt Number 4
Be inspired by this layout. Scraplift the whole thing or just a little.
What do you like about it? Copy that. Layout by Kelly Noel.

Been wanting to play along with these challenges since they started but not had the opportunity, well sat this afternoon and used the basic grey sketch to make a double layout (which I rarely do) that I love, will finish it off tomorrow and get it posted. Off to check out some of the other prompts now! |

Finished this one last night for the GG challenge. I also used the Ready Set Go pp which I had to have, bought the whole collection and have only used once before, so I felt like I needed a bonus pat on the back (or a kick in the pants & no new purchases from CHA).

Hey Girls...your pages are great!!
Summerbellies...LOve your title for your page and your story behind your page.
Tink...LOve the layout of the 4 photos and how you cropped them to be a different heights..it really works..I have some groups of 4 prtrait photos and this may work for mine as well
Marianne...I love your page especially that blessed running up the page. Last Year my daughter had her baptism and first communion and I have been hesitant on doing the pages because I am not sure what papers to use. I am not Catholic but her dad had asked her to start taking the classes a few months before he passed away and she found a lot of love and support with the members of his church especially during those first few weeks after his unexpected passing. Our whole family was in tears at the Easter Vigil when she was baptised because it was just one year prior when we had all been setting in that same pew watching her father being baptised by Father Tom. So the pages will have a lot journalling.
The stamp set is from the Original Amy Tan line from American Crafts.
I have two whole days off...whoop whoop...Housework and Scrapbooking ...I see in my future! |
It was fate that I would enjoy paper crafts...my name is Sharmon (like the TP)!

Sharmon--those religion based pages seem high pressured! Maybe you could just go for soft patterns and some butterflies or flowers. I'm also sorry for you and your daughters loss. |

Cover Page: 213 Challenge 1.23.13
This is for prmpt #5
I also did the Glitter Girl Challenge again because I am not a very good journaler...but I added a whole story about now Michael had been with us on the same vacation since he was in his mother's belly.
This is also for prompt #5.
HAPPY DAY
I am hoping to really decrease my Sketchbook Hoard!
Done for today taking kids to see Snow and Ice Carvings at the Snowfest in Frankenmuth Michigan and have a fancy dinner at the Bavarian Inn. I will be taking lots of photos...I just made room on my camera! |

I have two that I completed yesterday for the challenges.
Easter
This on is for challenges #3, #4, & #5.
The yellow polk-a-dot strip below the photo is ribbon that I've had in my stash forever. The LO is mostly a scraplift of Nicole's LO, and Glitter Girls challenge was to handwrite journaling.
Already...
This one is for challenge #1
The chipboard letters "you" were originally white and covered with yellow polk-a-dot washi tape. It worked out perfect because I've had those chipboard letters forever and in spite of all the yellow letters I have none were quite the right shade, but your challenge gave me the idea to look at my washi tape.
I really like these challenges - give me a starting point. Thanks Marianne for organizing these.

What a busy week! I may only get one done, but I'll try for a second one later today.
Here is Seattle Art.
It is for prompts 2, 3, and 5. I used the right hand side of the BasicGrey sketch because it allowed me to use a landscape and a portrait photo. I added a little ric-rac for the ribbon portion. Then I journaled for Glitter Girl's challenge this week.

Wow - some great layouts out there, ladies! I'm so inspired by these challenges and everyone's projects.
Marianne - thank you so much for another week of amazing inspiration and challenges. I don't think I'll be able to participate much this week (since it's already Sunday - where did the week go???) but I've pinned your inspiration layouts and sketch. Maybe I'll get a chance to do it some other time. I did get to complete one. I'll need to link it up. LOVED your First Communion page - the colors are so pretty and your glitter sticker works so perfectly as the title!
Sharmon - I love how you included the CHA challenges in your PL pages. It was a big part of my week too. If I ever get around to completing a PL page, I'll be sure to include my life here on 2peas.
Margie - love your work! The layering on your school layout is amazing!
Summerbellies - loved the story behind your "I could stare at you" page. The journaling is so sweet and heartfelt. Really more than just the who, what, when, where. I've been trying to add more meaningful journaling to my layouts too. Great job!
Ellen - you've inspired me to take another look at one of my layouts. I'm not completely happy with it. Thanks!
Everyone's work has been so inspiring. I've left comments on your projects - sorry if I didn't mention you here in this post.

This is my first attempt at this challenge. OMG. It took me forever to remember how to scan and stitch a layout in photoshop. Anyway, here it is. Inking chipboard, making tags and stamping them, twine, old overlays and Daisey D paper, and some old sticker letters for title. Thanks for looking.

No school this morning so I had a little extra time to make another LO. The photos are bad ...no natural light...I will try to retake them later. I made this the In your mood challenge to use punched circles. I made some confetti with my "Swiss Cheese" border punch but it was too small so I just used a regular office supply hole punch.
Stashbuster Challenge #5: Current Challenge
Peekaboo Aunt
This photo is of my children's disabled Aunt who goes on vacation with us every summer...I turned around with the camera and it looked like she was playing peekaboo with the weeds. It is had to get a good picture of her because when she know I am taking her photo she smiles for me but she opens her mouth super wide and it really distorts her face...so I usually try to catch her smiling naturally and take photo's with the zoom. Everyone in our family loves this photo including Ranae. |
