Bag 'em up in a grocery bag and put them in the attic or bury them in a closet.
I almost threw mine away in '09. So glad I DID NOT when I flipped to the Cameo 11/11 and subsequently began selling my carts.
That's my $.02. |

I think that if you ever decide to sell them, most people will want the box. BUT, I did what you're contemplating with the few cartridges that I had and had no problem selling what I had. |

Donate them to a school.
They make great storage boxes for pencils, crayons, etc for centers or tables in classrooms.
That's what I did with mine- I haven't regretted it for a day. |

Keep the boxes. Sell your Carts and Cricut. Then, Get a Cameo. You'll be glad you did.

If you ever plan on selling them the buyer would probably really like the box! Put them into a garbage bag or plastic tote and put them in the basement, garage, somewhere! I WOULD NOT throw them out! |

I sold my 100+ carts without the box and the buyer had no problem with it. I kept all of my carts in quart size baggies with a copy of the back of the box (and the images) taped on. |

Throw them away or donate them. I sold all my circuit carts when I switched to the cameo and had absolutely no problem selling them without the boxes. |

I tossed all of mine & it felt good. I currently have the carts, booklets & keypads in a small plastic crate-type box. I don't have too many of them & doubt I'll be buying anymore. I have sold a couple carts and the buyers didn't have any problem not having the box. Good luck deciding what you're going to do. |

Toss them!
I got rid of mine and it allowed me to get rid of a small cabinet that I used store them. Now I store the cartridges in a plastic pencil box and the books/overlays are in a Rubbermaid shoe box.

I threw mine away. I don't regret it. I'm not one to be re-selling my stuff so the resale value of "in box" isn't worth the loss of storage space for empty boxes. I don't have an accessible attic space and even if I did I don't want it filled with essentially trash. |

You could offer them to people on the cricut msg board. I know several people have paid good $ for extra boxes. If you are just going to toss them anyway you could get some good karma by giving them away for the price of shipping. |

Mine take up no space at all. They are stored in over the door VHS shelves and I love having my boxes. I can even screw them into a wall when I have a place to do so. I like complete things and I would never buy carts without their boxes. for the ones that are sold in plastic I create a box by putting them in a white VHS box that I got off EBAY and copy the info and instruction sheets to create a cover and back. Every cart is in a box. You look under my name to see how it look. My shelves were purchased on-line from Target for under $30.00 with free shipping. Good luck with your decision. |

I wouldn't say never, but I'd much prefer a box. I even went so far as to make my own for the one solutions cartridge I have. |

I'm having the same problem. They are in our filing cabinet in my husbands office right now hehe. I know he probably wants them out if there for his own space but I'm not sure where to put them just yet. Thinking of adding another shelf in my craftroom closer to the ceiling them they are out if the way!

I tossed mine a long time ago and haven't regretted it. If I sell the carts, it would be because I'm getting rid of my machine. In that case, I'd sell everything at once so the carts would go in the Artbin storage case. Should have given them to a school, but just wanted them out of my house!

Feel free to toss. I have 30-ish carts, tried altering a couple of the cardboard boxes, thought they were cute but not my thing. Finally tossed them all with NO regrets. The plastic ones are particularly useless to me. My books and carts are stored in SnapWare ribbon stack and that works great for me. I have no room in my life for clutter. Carts I've sold go FINE with book & cart & overlay in a plastic bag. |
