First let me say ME TOO!
I have that Soma Vanishing Back bra
And then let me say PJ's or sweats are a girls bestest friend... I could repeat it .. but I think you can see there are no undergarments mentioned!
Back to the issue at hand-- week night scrapping. I too do my heavy lifting so to speak on the weekends. And I get little page kits ready for the week. I pull a few pp's that kinda coordinate out, grab some photos and maybe a key embellishment and put them in a tray. Then during the week I sit in front of the tv and put together BASIC layouts. Nothing too fancy or too embellished but it lets me touch my pretty pretty papers and lets me feel a tiny bit creative. These layouts are the first ones I finish on the weekend if they haven't moved to my scrappy desk for driveby embellishing during the week.
On my scrappy desk is usually another layout that I didn't finish on Sunday... I pick at it as I walk through the house during the week.(driveby embellishing)
And then I schedule one night to deal with computer stuff-- printing pictures, editing pictures in photoshop, printing out journaling etc. Its all scrappy even if there is no gluestick involved... its gets me ready for the weekend!!
|Posted: 1/24/2013 5:28:47 PM|Since I do most of my scrapping on the weekend, I almost always scrap again on Monday nights. Because I got something started on Saturday, scrapped on Sunday, the mojo is still going. So we eat something quick or my husband cooks, and I go upstairs to scrap. We usually clean and do all the laundry on the weekend, so all of those jobs are caught up. I purposely don't plan any appointments or get togethers for Monday night after work so it is my evening. I almost always have the TV on to catch up on a few shows.
Although I change out of work clothes, and never wear shoes in the house, I do get dressed in something else. PJs just put me into the tired zone. I also agree that I have to have something laid out during the week. I am always more productive if the idea, pictures, paper, whatever is there to get me started. Then I don't sit and debate and then just quit.
I don't know that I agree with Penny about a bra, but I can do some research. As far as the T-shirt goes, creative peas, help me out since I don't have cows in the barn...(or is that an euphemism, Penny?)

Vicki...I love this!! HaHa!! It's a new Peas term I think! Today I did this by lacing up some witches boots with twine for a Halloween LO that I have been working on. That's it for the night....just picking at it for one thing!
And yes, I agree with Penny...if I put the p.j's and the oversize T-shirt on, I don't get much done. But if I at least put some jeans and a more flattering shirt on after work, then I tend to be more productive. Same thing on the weekend.
I don't get much done in the evening...too tired after work. Just a few things here and there if I have a LO out (still loving the term Driveby Embellishing!). Most of my scrapping is done Sunday afternoons while DH is watching football.

So not! My head has been spinning for weeks!!! I decided to start organizing my photos the somewhat Like library of memories.
I also embraced the fact that PL is too much for me so I'm using the cards for organizing. My photos in albums. Playing with pockets and looking at my old photos got me inspired so I've been working a couple of minutes at a time in layouts made PL style. I'm having 1,000 of aha! Moments this year.

I'm so glad to hear I was not alone in my post last night! Reading through all the replies I am impressed by all of the things we ladies do for our families! Unfortunately it leaves us worn out by the end of the day to focus on ourselves. I appreciate the tips. We moved recently and I still haven't quite set up my space the way I want it. I am going to make it a point to set it up so I can leave some things out and easy to see - that will motivate me more if I see a partially finished layout for example. At least until my sweetpea gets big enough to reach the top of my desk! LOL

I would love to after the kids are in bed, but after a full day of teaching and taking care of my kids in the evening I am mentality, physically, emotionally and creativity burned out. I can do a little bit sometimes and on rare occasion get inspired and have enough energy, but those evenings are few and far between. You're not alone!

Well thanks everyone for the laugh!! I am too tired to scrap at night unless I'm on a deadline of some sort.
But I totally, fo sho, absolutely CANNOT relax and scrap or even be happy with a bra on! I hate wearing one at home!
I have to have daylight to scrap because I start feeling sleepy as soon as the sun goes down. Then ironically I stay up too late every night.
I also like to see my colors in the daylight and I just feel more motivated!! So I guess if I worked every day - it would be mostly Sunday afternoon scrapping for me.

Actual scrapping, my mojo is not strong enough to do after a long day of work. But selecting photos to print, putting together page kits, organzing product, even vacuuming my studio are all things I can do after work. Then when I do sit down to scrap, I am ready to roll on a Saturday or Sunday.
Oddly, Friday night is the one night I CAN scrap after work, but I think it is because I know that Saturday I don't have to be up at a specific time.

Tracie, I have daylight lights in my overhead and I have my Ott light and I have my under cabinet lights.
This week, M-Th at night, I have put together 9 kit layouts (18 pages) and put pictures of 5 of those layouts (10 pages done and ready to journal) and also I did 3 double layouts from scratch, using my own paper and some SG sketches.
I have to chuckle, though, because last night I thought of you all. I came home from the gym and I was in my "ain't nobody going anywhere" running bra and let's just say I felt VERY AWAKE!!!

I usually don't scrap during the week, but since I cleaned and organized over Christmas, I find I can get a little bit done through the week. My kids (17 and 20) are still at home, but they are usually working, studying, etc. Our son graduates this spring, so I do have to stay focused. I am also creating an album for my boss(my school principal)for her son. He is one of my son's best friends all the way back to second grade. It sounds like a big job, but it is just high school band and show choir photos.I am also lucky that my husband is low maintenance; he helps out quite a bit around the house and encourages me to scrap or whatever makes me happy.
