Our last microwave lasted less than a year. Fortunately, it was covered by the warranty, and I got a full refund. I need to get a new one tomorrow, and would love some Pea input about brands.

We have a GE convection one. It's about six years old. We love it. Don't use the convection part much so if you don't think you will, then you could save some $$. GE is good.

According to our latest Consumer Reports the Kenmore Elite is the highest rated. That's what we have and it works fine.

I just recently bought another GE to replace my old GE that died. After I looked around I picked GE again because they are one of the few brands that have instant on when you hit a #1-5. I know in the scheme of things having to hit a few extra buttons isn't a big deal, but I really liked that feature. Cup of tea hit the 1 button, can of soup hit the 3 button, etc...

I don't remember the model #, but I picked that one that had the Larger easier to read numbers. It was a mid range oven somewhere around $350-$400. I didn't need anything too fancy or over the top. We just for the most part reheat leftovers, make popcorn and heat cans of soup in it. I like it well enough. Although I did burn my first 2 bags of popcorn, by adding to much extra time. LOL!
