I'm not really a well known pea. I've posted a few things on the board in the last several months and just wanted to update...

We took our van in for the free oil change and tire rotation. They were super nice to us and the lady that was so rude to my husband was also super nice. I stood at the counter while another person was helping us and watched her be extremely rude to several other customers - every other customer, in fact, except for us. We also just got the refund check in the mail from them last week (3 months later!). original thread

We took DD to the ER in November when she told me she was having suicidal thoughts. original thread
She is doing much better now. She has been seeing a counselor since then. She has been having trouble with grades for several years (doing homework/classwork but not turning it in on time) and going to the counselor has also helped with that issue. She pulled 3 Fs and a D up to 2 Ds, a C and a B. The second semester just started yesterday and she is already working really hard to make Cs and above. She has been going with a friend to youth group every Wednesday night as well.

I posted about DS being diagnosed with ADD and anxiety a couple years ago. His school in NC was not helpful at all. We ended up having to move twice last year and both of the schools he attended after NC were extremely helpful. He is now on an IEP. This is the first year he has been on an IEP and has been getting special education services and it has done wonders for him academically. His doctor figured out the right doses for his medications and it was like a switch was flipped. He went from staring at the ceiling or wall all day to actively participating in his classes. After everything happened with DD, DS started twisting his hair until it fell out (anxiety issues back with a vengeance). I was able to get him in with a therapist the next day after I discovered what he was doing. He's been going for almost 2 months.

Everyday, life is getting better.

I'm glad you have good updates and I'm so glad your dd is doing better. I had someone close to me make an attempt on their life, so I understand a little how totaling gut wrenching that is. May this year continue to be one of good things and happiness for you and your family.
