Sort of a spin-off of Sue/Midwestgirl60's scraproom post.

I have considered doing a reference sheet for my mists. Do you think the base color of your project alters the look of some/most mists?

I guess maybe I need to do a side-by-side comparison of mists on white/craft/chipboard color palettes.

I tend to use my mists mostly on these three bases. Just don't want to turn it into a much larger project than necessary.

I sample each new mist in a sketch book when I get them. They do look different on different background colours, and even patterns, but I only sample on white. Having each mist on white gives me a good enough idea of whether it is opaque or inky, or has undertones that aren't apparent in the bottle.

I did all white with a few of the colors on both black and white - for example the old, silver, white and sparkle only type sprays where they might be harder to see on white. I just did them on die cut tags and on a ring with the name of the spray on the back.

I did a sample of all of mine on both white and kraft paper. Those are the two I tend to use most often.
Now, I find it's hard to remember to do a sample each time I buy a new color.

I didn't do a book as such. Instead I misted the colour onto an adhesive round white sticker and adhered that to the lid of the bottle. It gives me a pretty good idea on the actual colour just by looking at the lid.

I too did samples on my lids a few years ago. I did the samples on white cs, punched with a circle punch, and put a glue dot to adhere to the lid. Makes it VERY easy to see what I want when I open the drawer. The colors may vary slightly but this is still very useful to me.

Now I'm torn, to do a swatch sheet & whether to do it in 1, 2 or 3 background colors or just put it on the lid. It never occurred to me to put a swatch on the lid.

Great idea ladies. I think I am going to try the lid idea. This will save me time & mist by not having to do test sprays before every project. Thanks!

I put a sample on my lid, too. Except, I use white hole reinforcements that I purchased at a office supply store.
