You mean there are people in this world who haven't seen The Princess Bride? Crazy.

I was amazed at work when I quoted PB and people stared at me like I was from Mars. Only one other person in a group of ten had seen it. I'm not that much older than they are and actually they would have been the ones to see it as kids/teens. I was in college when it came out.

I don't know whether to laugh at the hilarity or cry at the stupidity. Are there really people who think that a terrorist is going to announce their intentions so blatantly? For serious?

I'll choose to laugh...this time.

That was my first thought too!

I've never seen Princess Bride, but I sure have heard that line often enough to know exactly where it comes from. I'm stunned that a whole plane load of people and not one was able to laugh and say 'Cool shirt, dude!'

Having watched the movie countless times, I knew what that meant. But if you didn't, in this day and age, I understand why you would be hesitant to allow someone wearing that shirt on a plane.

For the love of Mike. I might break my eyeballs rolling them at the stupidity of people.

Not because they haven't seen The Princess Bride, but because they are stupid enough to think a t-shirt one way or the other is going to save them from terrorism.

Seriously-- rolling right out of my head...

I was wondering the same thing. If they haven't seen the Princess Bride (inconceivable! ) has no one seen the episode of Seinfeld where Jerry had the leather jacket with the pink striped liner?

One of the top 5 quotable movies of all time IMO....Love it!

I know one of the people on the flight. She alleged he was a complete and utter disruptive jerk on the plane.

His wearing a shirt saying prepare to die on a long flight was a big give away to his personality. It had very little to do with the movie at all.

Derp. I sent my 6th grade daughter to school in that shirt today. Well, a little different: the screen print name tag is name tag size and where a name tag would go, and it has sword slash holes in it. So, hope she doesn't get expelled for being a terrorist. She likes the shirt because it tells her which kids at school she could be good friends with (hey I didn't realize so and so was a little quirky too! Lol).

Slight hijack, of this thread - not a plane, I love TPB. True story, when I got married, my soon-to-be-husband and I agreed to have a judge be the officiator for our ceremony. The wedding was in a different state then where we were living so almost all arrangements were handled over the phone. I spoke with the judge's lovely wife and arranged the time, date and place. My wedding day arrives, beautiful day in September, myself, the groom, my bridesmaid and his best man are all gathered in front of the judge. He starts to speak....OMG, he sounds just like the priest in Princess Bride. I squeeze my soon-to-be-husband's hand and look down at the ground. He won't look at me. I don't look at him. I can't look at my bridesmaid because I know she's seen the movie. He can't look at his best man because he knows he's seen the movie. So here the four of us are, staring at the ground, not looking at one another, all wondering how to get through this without laughing. Marwidge, marwidge is what bwings us togewther towday. Good times, good times.

Do you seriously think that someone with intent to cause harm would wear a shirt with a big sign on it declaring his/her intentions? Seriously? I mean, really?

Oh, this just scrapes the surface of how ridiculous she can be. But yep- I bet she's serious.

I love the movie...I think the shirt is a hoot...BUT I think you have to be an utter and complete moron to wear that shirt when you're getting on a plane. I think he achieved what he wanted to achieve.

My DS wears shirts with stuff on them all the time. They can be quite questionable but he's an adult so I have no say.
