I use mine for Project Life materials. I am using the plastic inserts from the Antonius cart that is also sold at Ikea for the top two shelves. They fit in there well and hold Project Life cards perfectly. I'm using the bottom shelf to hold my daughter's SN@P things for her album.

love that little cart/baskets!
i might have to buy one - maybe as an "art cart" for all of my watercolors, spray ink, etc. Basically, put all of my art journaling stuff in it.
thanks, i think... |

That looks like a useful cart. Can the bottom two shelves be placed far enough apart that 6x6 paper pads could be stored on each shelf standing up--like a bookshelf?

"That looks like a useful cart. Can the bottom two shelves be placed far enough apart that 6x6 paper pads could be stored on each shelf standing up--like a bookshelf?"
I bought the blue one for DGD to use as an art cart.
I can't wait to go back and get one for me
The shelves are stationary but have plenty of room for 6x6 pads.
DGD stores a stack of 9x11 construction paper on the bottom.
The two lower shelves are equally spaced so the paper would fit on the middle shelf too
The shelves are about 4" deep if that helps.
Ikea also has some neat divided trays in the kitchen section.
They come in several size and have a removable lid (flips up and can come off).
They would work really well for PL stuff
Also they sell really neat containers (in stainless steel or white plastic) that would fit 3 or 4 across in two rows in each shelf

Delphinium Twinkle thanks for confirming this cart is large enough to store 6x6 paper pads.
Angel-mom, thanks for posting the pictures and letting me know that 6x6 paper pads fit on the shelves. I've been looking for something smaller mostly to use for storing paper pads. This cart might work.
There are no Ikea stores in the state I am in. However their shipping charge for this cart is $21. That's not too bad.
I am glad this post started, for I have not seen this cart before.

I just got one of the Raskog carts last weekend and I love it! In the top shelf of mine I have a basket with my SC stamps in it and beside it I have one of those Tim Holtz trinket cases. On the second shelf I have a jewellery tray I got at Mikes it is one with a lot of compartments in it it has my evalicious and bananafish stamps, and some wood veneers in it. On the bottom shelf I have an antonius container too and it has my TH inks in it. I want to get another Antonius container and put it underneath the jewellery tray. It is super easy to put together my 14 yr old put it together for me! I heart it!

Jennerator, I do combine kits. I used mostly Clementine and Cherry last year, and this year added Seafoam and Olive. It is a lot of cards. In my defense, I use the journaling cards for journaling in my regular albums, and I am doing a bunch of baby books in addition to PL, in PL style.

hoping to be able to fit 12x12 pp in there somewhere, like in a cropper
hopper on the bottom. Doesn't seem like it is going to work. Has anyone figured
out a good way to use this for 12x12?
I love it so much, I am thinking of getting another one for tools & art supplies.

On the Ikea site the cart looks to be a med baby blue BUT in all the pictures elsewhere that I have seen it looks green/blue-seafoam, turquoise.
Anyone who has the cart--would you have a Basic Grey baby blue and or turquoise sheet to last next to it and post to compare?????????????????

I just put my cart together a couple days ago...I wasn't aware of the inserts...will have to look at them next time I'm at IKEA. I'm not using mine for PL, but I plan to put my tool tote in the top shelf and then keep often-used items in the lower two shelves. I've been wanting to free up tablespace and I think this will be perfect for it. Small enough to sit next to me, but big enough to be useful. Plus, you can't beat the cute turquiose color |

I'm on my phone and can't check the website. Anyone know how tall this is, any chance it fits under the desk that attaches to the cubes? (I'm having a brain lapse and can't remember the name of the popular shelving units so many of use have )

Unfortunately, it won't fit under the desk that attaches to the Expedit. It's literally the same height as a 2x2 Expedit. Not to mention, if you have anything that sticks out the top, that would prevent you from using the top section. (Unless placed flat)
As for the color, my Dad says it reminds him of the turquoise that was popular in the 50's. He liked it so much, we got one to keep in the kitchen to hold all the dog food & treats. Just haven't put that one together yet.
I was also able to fit 3 PL kits in the top section.
Right now, I have my 12x12 goodies in a SC pizza box, just balanced on the bottom section, underneath it are larger tools. I can't use my Expedit desk right now (since I moved), so this is awesome for me to just roll into the family room and work on stuff when I am watching TV.
Here is a picture of mine in front of my Expedit:

It is a great, sturdy cart. You can also move the middle shelf up or down a bit if you wanted. The way the middle shelf attaches it can be adjustable.

It's definitely turquoise. They are HARD to find at the stores--out of stock--so check your store's inventory before making a trip. I saw they were available at my closest store on Friday night, got there at Saturday am, and there were only about 10 of them. (BTW-you can even find out what row & shelf they'll be on at your local store so you can go straight to it.) By the end of the weekend, they were all gone and haven't been in stock since.
I checked the prices for shipping here & I could get two for $30 in shipping. And, they are in stock when you have them shipped. I bought two, have put one together, and already want one or two more! They are really great for craft supplies. The first one is loaded with jewelry supplies. Second will be for sewing. Could easily use one for stamps and one for my leather tools. They hold a lot more than you would think, but they hardly take up any space. And they're freaking adorable! I'm even considering getting a black one then altering it to make it more fun. Best purchase ever at IKEA. (Well, that, and my Helmar drawer units. I have 5 of those!)

I wish I had re-read this thread this morning. Didn't realise there were inserts.
I just went to Ikea and bought this in grey. I was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy it seemed and it moved smoothly. I bought the last one and will be using it in my school library.
But now I'm wondering if I need one for my bathroom or my scraproom??

I read elsewhere that IKEA is discontinuing the Antonius line, so if you want an insert you might want to go sooner rather than later. My store didn't have them when I went several weeks ago, but my mother had 3 in a pile she was taking to the Humane Society Thrift store, so I was able to snag them! It is almost like they were made for the cart, they really are ideal. |
