I'm considering getting Lightroom. I've been on the fence about this for months. I would be installing this on my MacBook. How hard is it to learn? Do you organize your photos with this software? Right now I use iPhoto and am wanting to take it to the next level.
TIA! | |

Lightroom is extremely user friendly. Its a great photo organizer program since that is where its roots are. The editing tools are easy to use.

Thank you for the input! Are there websites that you would recommend to learn my way around this software?

I downloaded the trial, and have a couple of weeks left. I got a Scott Kelby book on my Nook and have been working my way through it. I find Lightroom to be just a cool program. Kind of elegant. I'm not up to Photoshop, but I have elements and have the Clean Color video. So, I'm starting the learning process of editing in LR, and hope I can figure out how to transfer the CC techniques to LR. I don't edit a ton, so I'm not that great at it anyway. But I do enjoy the CC workflow.
I do plan on purchasing LR.

Lightroom is what I use 90% of the time. It's easy and you can get a lot of "pre-set" for quick editing.
I highly recommend it. | |

I love Lightroom- it's made every part of photography and scrapbooking easier for me! It's quite easy to learn, and with presets I find that I can do most of the editing I want without having to use Photoshop (granted, I don't do heavy editing on any of my photos).
Adobe offers a 30 day free trial on their web site if you want to try it out first, and I'll also be covering my photo workflow in Lightroom in my upcoming Project Life video series lesson (February 16) here at Two Peas. I'm not going terribly in depth, but I do cover using metadata filters, basic editing, and printing.
Hope that helps! | |

You could get a million comments on this and none would be right or wrong in my opinion. It is like some poeple like elements and some don't some like lightroom and some don't.. I would never say I don't like it because it wouldn't be fair I have it , but I have never used it. I have Photo shop CS5 and it works for me so I have not tried to go to anything else as of right now.. I have heard good things about it and as with all programs I say try it and see what you think always use the trial first incase you are not finding it to be what you thought... just my opinion

Lightroom is my favorite photo editing software. I find it much more user-friendly than Photoshop.
There's a class over at CreativeLive.com by Ben Willmore called "Lightroom Mastery" that I highly recommend. He's a great teacher, and, once you purchase the class, you can watch whatever feature you need help on over and over again.
