All right, 'fess up. Just how messy is your scrap area right now?

On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being, "People this clean don't really exist, do they?" and 10 being, "I am typing this blind because there are three pounds of ribbon covering my keyboard", rate your mess.

In fact, feel free to rename your ranking. If you say you're a five, tell me what that means to you.

Right now, I'd put myself at the tipping point: 9.5 (a.k.a. "There is just enough empty space left to work on a layout -- that is, if the layout is 3 x 3" ).

+17 meaning the stack of crap surrounding my work space is higher than the Ott light on my desk. Also I'm pretty sure my cat might be somewhere lost in my scrap room. I left a trail of fancy feast to the door.

Andrea good luck with the cat. I spent 3 hours today tidying my work desk and have cleared enough to do 12x12 page. The other day I said on the board my resolution was to not need to buy storage - there will be more storage tomorrow!! Rate it a 8 tonight.

An 8 .... Desk is semi clean ... But every other surface has stuff stashed on it.
And a few floor piles.

Hmm... Maybe I should clean this weekend.

Mine is about an 8, one side of my scrap table is piled high with new goodies I'm still looking at and the other side is full of piles of old photo's and anything else that needs a home. I couldn't scrap here even if my life depended on it, not without putting the piles on the floor. I could be trapped then but not sure that would be a bad thing.

I have stuff on the floor, stuff all over my table and stuff on top of the stuff. My scraproom is one hot mess. I would rate my scrappy room an 8.5.

My scrap room is clean (no stacks on floor, nothing on computer desk, etc.) My scrap table, however, is a disaster in progress because I'm working on my December album!

Scraproom overall is a 2.
Scraptable 8.5.

I'm a split personality 5.

Last fall our basement flooded right where my scrap room was, so I 'temporarily' moved some stuff up to my dds old room. The temporary space (which is fast lobbying to become permanent, better light, balcony, more space) is pretty darn clean and organized.

The abandoned basement room looks like it was left in a hurry during the zombie apocalypse. I've made little to no effort to sort it out.

Let's see. There's a nice clear area in the middle where I've been scrapping, but a pile on either side that keeps getting taller, AND so much stuff under my desk that I can't put my feet down there! I give it a 7.5, only because its still (technically) usable.

Mine is about a 4. My desk has some stuff stacked on it that I need to work on today, after I finish cleaning out my closet, my cutting table needs some stuff cleaned off of it and my one counter needs a few things put away.

I hate my room being messy and having things laying out for the cats to play with so for me this is approaching critical disaster.

I really want to create today, but promised myself I could not do that until I cleaned out and organized my bedroom closets. Yet, here I sit on the Peas.

I'm actually pretty decent. My area is in my bedroom so I have to straighten up after each scrappy session which totally sucks but last weekend after I finished my DD I really cleaned up everything and even went through my scrap paper. After this weekend it will be a total mess again though

Mine is a 2, I can't create if there is stuff laying around, interfers with my MOJO. I need no visual clutter around me so that my project gets all the focus. Maybe I am a little ADD in that I am easily distracted.

Mine is probably a 2 - everything nicely put away, clean desk surface.

But that's only b/c my scraproom is also the guest room, and my Mom is flying in today, so I spent last night cleaning up!

All I need to do is vacuum in there, and then it will be a 1.5! (I have a bit too much stuff on the shelves to be a true 1!)

Mine isn't bad. Maybe a 3. It needs vacuuming and I could straighten my work table in 5 minutes. All in all, 30 minutes and it would be spic and span.

Now, my sewing corner is a whole other story.

I would say 9.5. I've been sick with the flu so it just sort of got left mid project. Also my hubbie decided it was a great place to put cans he didnt feel like putting in the pantry. I believe there may also be a stuffed animal or two. I should just put up police tape.

Wait...Am I facing my desk or the rest of the room? My desk is a 2 because I left everything out last night knowing I was going to be working on layouts today. BUT my floor is a + 25...I have albums strewn on my floor that I am sorting layouts into, stuff off my shelves that needs to be sorted, paper & other goodies to be given away, fabric that I need to wash & put away, and stuff I moved when I re-did my desk. ARGH!!!

Thank god, I can close the door

& I am going up in a few minutes to clean

I'm about a 5. My main desk just has a few kits that need to be put away and there are some bits and bobs to organize but my floor is a minefield of dried playdoh bits that need to be swept up from trying to entertain my littles while I was in there

I'd have to say a 5 right now.

All the Christmas decorations are piled in there ready to be put away.
There is some mail on my counter left over from my vacation.
And a few piles of scraps are on my desk from a scrapbook I made Thursday that I plan to make into cards today.
I need to dust. When the central heat is on, it gets dusty fast.
I also need to purge more.

It could be a 1 in about an hour. I'll probably get there by tonight.

ETA: just put all the Christmas stuff away, dusted, and dealt with the mail. I'm back to a 2. I'd really still like to purge, but that's for another day.

I'm giving myself a 2, because one roll of baker's twine is out of place and the floor could use sweeping.

I don't have a dedicated area, so that forces me to be pretty clean, although SO and I do occassionally eat meals on the couch in front of the TV becuase I have stuff spread out all over the table and don't want to clean it up yet.

Mine is a working mess! I am in the throes of completing several years of Christmas layouts, so I have photo binders out, stacks of cardstock out, stacks of Christmas paper out - but a clean and clear work surface.

For me, this is a solid 7, and that's is sort of rare for me to be that high.

About a 9.5 here also.

I'm working on 2 layouts and have a small island - 2.5' x 4.5' and at the moment it has just enough workspace for 1 layout, and a place to put a tool I'm working with maybe, the rest of the table is covered with something including my mm round craft organizer, the other layout, elements that don't work for either of them.

Theres a pile on the floor, paper organizers everywhere, trimmer is on the floor (my island is in the living room) A couple of things have fallen off the table though, so... its getting very close to a 10 lol.

My "crap" room as my kids call it is a 15 right now. I really need to do a major purge.

Right now I'm working at the dining room table since I'm making 3 of the same album so I need the large work space. The table, floor and a few chairs would rate as a 9.

Maybe I should plead the 5th?

I am a mid project middle of the road 5 today. There are a few things hanging around my craft room that need returning to other parts of the house but I can still create so clearing up can wait.

However under no circumstances should anyone open the closet door, in there we are probably talking at least a 12! While the door still shuts I'll just forget about it

I would have to say 9.5. I can get in my room and reach my table. I also have room to work on a twelf inch sheet of paper, but that is about it. One day I hope I have given everything a place or give it away. One day, I will have a cleaner room. One day I will be a 3 or 2.

Mine is a clean. I'm one of the crazy scrappers that have to clean up and put away things after I complete a layout. I was scrapping last night and cleaned up before I went to bed.

The rest of the house isn't so clean, but my scrap area is pretty darn spankin' clean right now.

mine is about an 8, meaning I can walk across the room (which is a vast improvement over a couple weeks ago!) and most everything is in 12x12 iris boxes... but, there's no cleared off work surface at all.

Unfortunately, a big part of the problem is that there's three big boxes of stuff to be sorted that has to stay in the room till the LSS garage sale in April.

(eta: stacks of stuff on the floor is normal for my room-- that's my usual storage style, lol!)

I'd call my space an 8. I just got my Christmas photo order and there are piles of photos everywhere, I'm sorting them by how they will be used on a layout and making page kits. There's still a 12x12 clear space on the table but that's about all the clear space available.

I'm gonna give myself a 1.5. I don't do well in clutter, not here or at work.

My desk only has my tools on it, a little dish for little things I don't use or find on the floor, they stay there until I put them away or toss them and my thing of washi. I have a couple other works surfaces that have baskets for twine, punches, my paints/stickles/inks, die cuts, letter stickers, etc. but everything is put away and the surface is clear.

I give myself the 1.5 because there is a basket on the floor with stuff that needs to exit the room, one shelf that has random stuff on it that could probably be sorted onto the other shelves and a small pile of Valentine stuff I am working on.

I've worked with lots of people who only have enough space on their desks to do the task at hand, I work with one now, but that's not me....I can multi-task, but once I'm done everything goes back where it belongs...LOL

Mine is a 19. A complete disaster and unfunctional! Can't walk without stepping over something. Not a lick of desk space in site and you can't even sit in my chair because of the pile on it.

I do have an excuse though - I'm slowly working on moving my scraproom to a new, bigger room. So I've just been piling in my additions to my stash for awhile now. I'd die if I actually had to try and scrap in there right now.

Mine is probably a 3. My desk has a kit out but the pieces are in bins. My work surface has my laptop on it right now because I was printing PL. My problem is that I have a box of giveaway stuff and a box of DD stuff waiting to find a more permanent home and my sewing machine box to put in storage. Basically a few little things out on the desk but more on the floor than I would like. My scrap space is what is supposed to be a formal dining room so it is open and in the main part of the house so it can't get too out of control.

I confess that it is a 5. It should be much better. I had started cleaning and organizing before we were expecting weekend company recently. (They bailed, in-law situation, long story.) Then, I started using the main table for other paperwork organization. Now, it's still one sorry mess.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a fairly messy weather day with freezing rain. I think that I will get a couple of crockpots going right away in the morning, line up my twelve favorite CDs and then MAKE myself finish that room!

8 for me. I have some Christmas stuff that still needs to be boxed - just ornaments that I made wreaths with and each has an individual Hallmark box -- and I honestly forgot all about them and put the rest away....so that plus other "stuff" that I moved before the holidays, plus non-scrap related school papers etc that need to be sorted, are piled up around my scrap desk. Oh yeah, then there's 2 trips worth to LSS that haven't been sorted yet somewhere in the pile...

9 - Since this is a laptop, I am not in the craft room, but if I was I could type on the "computer desk" (where we had our previous laptop before getting wireless). However, I really haven't given much thought to organizing in several months, and I deliberately set stuff out during the CHA challenge week that I just keep using instead of putting back.
