I just used it yesterday for the first time. I was working on a Christmas LO and thought a bit of sparkle might be needed. So I inked up a border stamp and put the powder on it. I really like the way it looks. I just really don't know how long you should keep the heat gun on it. It doesn't change like regular embossing powder. So, what has been your experience?

I usually apply heat for longer than I do normal embossing powder - the glitter sort of "sinks in" (and loses a tangible amount of sparkled, but not much). I've found that it doesn't hold perfectly, so I sometimes mix it with clear embossing powder.

What brand of glitter EP are you using?

It should see it turn shiny and sparkly as you heat it. It doesn't take much more time than clear. I always let my gun heat up for a minute or so before pointing it toward the paper. Maybe that trick will work for you?

I have some Judikins glitter EP from the 1990s that still works great. Used it at Christmas time.

Using the Zing brand. I did let the gun warm up before applying it to the powder. I know that I probably held it too long as the paper was kind of warping. I will do it as I would normal powder next time.
