Good morning ladies!
Christine - is it warming up any for you? Its a rainy dreary day here. I'm so tired of cleaning puppy paws!
I'm so tired today... my DH is sick (cold or something.. not sure) and he has been snoring soooooo bad the last week! Finally the last two nights I have gotten up in the middle of the night and moved to the living room to my recliner.... not the same as sleeping in my bed! I did move back to the bed when he left for work this morning and got a couple hours of sleep but I still feel like I have been run over by a truck! I know he feels so bad so I dont want to complain but I dont think either of us are getting any sleep.
Denise - I would love to see pics of your scrap room too! Please share!
So what is everyone doing today?

I have really considered having a friend of ours that owns a BBQ and wings place do the catering. I'll have to see what his cost is. I get so caught up in planning and executing whatever event I have that I never really have time to catch my breath and enjoy it.
The venue has a beautiful pavilion that is made from Tennessee stack rocks with a large fireplace and a small (really small) kitchen/bar. It also has 2 cabins that we can use for out of town guests. I need to go back and take some photos to share with y'all.
I SO appreciate y'all letting me ramble about the wedding, the move, health issues, etc..... I truly feel a kinship with all of you!!!
I stood at the craft room door this morning and admired the room. I am so excited to have it manageable again!
What a great feeling! Every time I would clean up may scrap area, I hated to do anything because I didn't want to mess it up! Just sit and stare at it!!
I pray your knee heals quickly and the pain is manageable!
I had Claudia on my mind this weekend and in the spirit of our original goal with this group, I did some anonymous RAKs. I pray she is smiling down on all of us and is cheering us all on to fight the daily trials we come up against up. She was an exceptional lady! |

Patti - I forgot to mention.. my DS will be getting married in Sept (yes the son that just had the baby). The venue that my future DIL has picked out is $9,000!!!! That does include table, chairs, lines and they will be having the wedding & the reception there but I think that is still ALOT! It is an old cotton mill that has been refurbished. It is a beautiful building but I just can't believe that it is that expensive. Good luck to you with the wedding... I really think that weddings have gotten so out of hand and way overly expensive these days!
AND to make matters worse my DS thinks they should just "go" & get married and save the money!

Happy Sunday ladies
I decided to sit here and check in. Why have I been missing in action basically just busy trying to clean my scrap room and reorganizing plus have spent hours uploading info to my new computer. The best part of that is to review really old photos of my 2 kids. This has been fun but it is very tedious work. Not much time for online friends.
I have been busy doing a card challenge. Have you seen the book 75 Card Challenges by PaperCrafts. It really pushes to create 75 different cards and so many techniques so that is what I am doing. I also have 2 layouts that I need to do of Alyssa. I haven't even got to printing any Christmas photos yet. I guess I am just getting stressed so I am taking this break to recharge.
It is really nice to read about all these wedding plans. I know it is a lot of planning but it is so worth it on the day of the wedding. Good luck with all the plans.
Christine It is nice you are taking a long weekend. I am sure you will enjoy the extra day.
Cleaning and reorganizing our scrap rooms is such an ongoing process. I am still at it. Sometimes I get frustrated and then I can see progress and realize it is worth it. I would love to see a photo of scrap rooms organized. MY problem is I have too many stamps and too many scrap kits and papers but I don't want to get rid of anything.
Have a wonderful week ahead and hope all of you are well. Kristi I hope your husband gets better so you can get some sleep. We have finally got rid of that flu that has been in this house since Christmas.
Think of all of you often. I will try to get back this week. Take care Ruby |

DH finished painting Eli's old bedroom and today I bought a red pleather sofa couch and a red, black and grey striped accent chair for the room. I still need a black bookcase and perhaps a small desk or table. Too early to post pics but I will when it's done.
When DH and i got married 24 years ago, my dad had just paid for my entire 4 year university education. He offered me 5000 and said I could use it to elope or pay for a wedding. We choose a wedding and we paid for everything with only that money. My dress cost 200, my mother in law did all the flowers and the reception was at our local Legion and catered by the women's group. We had 200 guests and it was a fantastic time. Amazing what one can do on a limited budget. Have fun with all the wedding planning. |

Hiya Rak'ers It's been a long time since I've visited twopeas. How in the world is everyone? As for me I'm hanging in there, every day is different.
I haven't been up to much, and I'm so ready for spring where I can be outside, I'm already dreaming of which new flowers to try this year
Thank you all for the comments on my vanity on facebook. I put the last layer of varnish on it yesterday, and then I made a decoupaged candle holder thingy to match it. I'm really liking it. No more sitting on the floor to put makeup on, not that I wear makeup anymore very often, I've turned into a frumpy housewife, lol

Tracy - cant wait to see pics of your room!
I totally agree about a budget for weddings. We had a wonderful wedding and I remember that my dress was a little over $300, my flowers & cake was $350 total, we had our reception at my DH's parents home. My Aunt made my bridemaids dresses & my parents paid for the material. I know there were other costs (like cake topper, linens for the cake table, invitations etc) but I would think that we probably didnt spend more than $1,500 for everything!
My Future DIL has already gotten her dress and it was $1500.00 by itself!

good morning girls,
i have a RAK, but you have to act fast!
I have a code for a free Shutterfly book. it's for the standard 8x8 size with a hard cover. i think that book is usually $29.99. If I recall correctly, the shipping would cost you about $8. The catch is the code expires on Thursday. Anyone want it and able to throw a book together really quickly? if you have not used shutterfly, the books are pretty nice, and their format is easy to use.
denise, i'm going to look at your pictures now. i have 2 albums i need to get finished! i should have been working on them yesterday but i was in front of the tv and playing games with grace instead. i have a ton of running to do today so i won't get to anything until friday.
my arm is killing me. its from the top of the forearm to use above the elbow, and does include the elbow. it has been for a couple weeks but getting worse. i can't pick up things heavy, squeeze, or straighten it out and its tender to touch it. i think it's just something like tendonitis but it is killing me! lol i think a contributing factor is a game we play called "spite and malice." the game involves multiple decks of playing cards, and i noticed it really hurts when trying to shuffle those cards. i see some ibuprofen in my near future. lol |
2010: 110 pages
2009: 153 12x12 pages, 15 8.5x11 pages 14 6x6 pages, 50 cards
2008: 74 12x12 pages, 35 8.5x11 pages, 156 6x6 pages
2007 accomplished: 12x12--85 pages 8x8--20 pages 6x6--265 pages. 370 pages total

Denise - I love your room! The color is sooo fun! Can I ask you how you organize your stamps? I have so many sets that I cant ever remember what I have and end up having to look at them one by one...which I usually lose interest before I find what I'm looking for!
Alicia - hope your arm gets better... I'm still having problems with my shoulder and havent gone back to my boot camp yet. I hope to start tomorrow but I just dont know if I'll be able to do the workout.
Chris - I hope you are enjoying your day... sounds like you picked a good day to stay home & not get out in the nasty weather!
DH has been sick and has been snoring soooo bad the last few nights but last night I finally got to sleep all night in the bed instead of going to the living room in the middle of the night. I'm just hoping I dont get sick!

Hi, RAK ladies. I still pop in from time to time, but not nearly as often. I was disappointed when 2Peas changed the readability of the site design and then the loyalty program, so less Peaing for me.
Tonight, I skimmed the first page of NSBR and saw your Phoenix question, Alicia. I'll peamail you some info.
When I looked for the RAK thread, though, it was on page 3, so I thought I'd post and move it back up by wishing the best for all of you!

Hey girls,
Having a sleepless night and playing on the internet so I thought I'd pop in and say Hi. I hope everyone is doing well and staying warm. It's cold here in WV. Not a lot of snow this year thankfully but low temps. Such crazy weather, one day it's in the teens and the next in the 60's. No wonder everyone keeps getting sick.
How is everyone? Busy here with the two little ones. Baby Lucas will be five months old on the 30th. He's such a cute little guy but he's having a rough go of it. He went from colic to teething. He's just miserable most of the time but bless his heart, he wants to be happy. His mom was getting him dressed today and I was talking to him and the whole time tears were streaming down his cheeks but he tried to hard to smile. His big sister Hayden loves him and wants to take care of him all the time. She is challenging us in her own way. I can't begin to tell you how many pairs of scissors we've hidden from her but she always seems to find a pair and ends up cutting her hair. her bangs are super short and very uneven right now. I don't know what to do with her besides sign her up for beauty school!
I'll try to get a picture of the baby on here so you can see him. Right now my camera batteries are dead and every time I buy batteries to replace them, they end up going into a toy, no matter how many packs I buy. Good thing I love those little monkeys!
I hope everyone has a great week. I know I sound like a broken record but I'll try to pop in more. Enjoy the last week of Jan...can't believe it's gone already! |

Hey Tina & Elle! Glad to see you guys dropping in!
Ok girlies I started my workout/boot camp again. I had to stop for my eye surgery and then I had "tweaked" my shoulder and have gone to the doctor for it. It still hurts and there were some things that I couldnt do today but at least I'm back at it... right? Now to get back on my weight watchers and start losing again! I think I can... I think I can... I think I can...
The weather is crazy here... at 4:30 am this morning when I was driving to workout my temp gauge in my car said it was 66 degrees! Really? At the end of January? We are supposed to be getting thunderstorms today and I dont doubt it at all.. the humidty is crazy. So tomorrow I will be back at wiping puppy paws! I know we need the rain terribly but I sure do wish I had more grass instead of just dirt around my house! One of the joys of living in the country I guess!
Going back to the eye surgeon today to check up on my eyes... better get off here and get ready. Its a 45 min drive and you never know how traffic will be!
Have a wonderful day ladies! Blessings to all!

Hi guys,
Just a quick update to let you know I'm still here!
Australia is having a rough time of it lately. As little as a week ago, we've been battling bush fires since New Years in at least 3 states. Some quite close to us, although we are safe. Then this week, Queensland has battled another cyclone and flood damage again. It was 2 years ago that the state was literally wiped out with floods. Many people have only just recovered and repaired homes to lose them again.
My timing was *wonderful* (sarcasm) as I had to drive up Monday to North Sydney so Josh could attend a school workshop on Tuesday. We drove into the storm as it passing through Queensland and now giving NSW a taste. Monday night, the storm really hit and now northern NSW has flooding and evacuations. sigh. We were lucky enough that by the time we needed to leave to head back to Canberra (4 hour drive) that the rain had cleared. Nice smooth run home.
Geek's middle boy is back from Perth again. This weekend, I pick up my eldest boy, Nathan and his girlfriend from the airport as they are moving in with us. We still have our Asian boarder, so it's a full house next week!
I am doing a one-off shift at my old workplace tomorrow and not looking forward to being out of bed before 5am! I hoped to have a lazy day on Friday but Geek wants me to accompany him to some lecture being given at the local University at 9am. Lucky me. Topic: How the Internet was invented. Yeah. Excitement. (<-- buckets of sarcasm)
Come on Kristy!! I am just at 89kg! Under the magic zero number. Move your booty! WE can do this! I am halfway through the 30 Day Shred dvd and it's still killing me! But I am sure it's contributing to my weight loss, so I'm not giving up! Next week, I plan to get back to some gym classes. It's been too long.
I haven't scrapped in a couple of months either. I am really looking forward to getting back into that. I've had to spend a fair bit of time at my sewing machine, creating swim suits and aprons for my dd who is in Miss Pin Up Australia next week. It's a vintage/retro comp.which she pulls off well. She's right into the '50's stuff. Miss Annie Key on facebook, if you're interested (or bored and surfing)
Looking forward to seeing Tracey's 'new' room!
Waving hello to our MIA rakkers signing in! and sending love to you all.
Time to get my tush moving! |

To correct my last post:
Geek is dragging me along to hear the guy that invented the internet. Still sounds like a fun day.
Just sitting down after having a cooking day, getting a few meals in the freezer. All easy stuff but makes life easier for those crazy, busy days.
Tuna Mornay, Ham Pasta Bake, Mediterranean Roast Vegetables (2 large casserole dishes), Turkey Meatloaf, Turkey Meatballs, Spaghetti Bolognese Sauce. That should keep the masses quiet!

Oh Chris, those Facebook games will suck you in big time. lol I'm addicted to Song Pop. I also play a couple others, like Chefville but I think I may be about finished with that one. I don't have the time you need to finish all the missions.
Patti, good luck with the wedding. They are expensive. I know when my niece got married 2 years ago, her parents spent $25,000 on the wedding. She comes from a "blended" family and is the only girl in addition to her full brother, half brother and step brother so they went all out. They're getting ready to buy their first house and I'm sure they wish they would have taken the money my brother offered as a down payment in lieu of a wedding about now. Don't get me wrong, it was a wonderful day, but I'm more practical, I would have taken the money and run. lol
I think I might make a cinnamon roll cake today. First time making it so I hope it turns out. Wish me luck. Have a great Wednesday! |

Went to look at another house with Zach tonight. The basement ceilings were only 6 feet high. Zach is 6'6". So needless to say, he couldn't stand up straight in the basement. Not ideal. |

Winter has returned. Yesterday I wore a light windbreaker and today I'll have my winter gear back on.
Tonight is Annie's night to stay at school so Zach and Beau will join us for supper. Spaghetti is on the menu and I'm sure Beau will need a bath after that!
My boss's has been off work for almost two weeks with shingles. It's on his face and head and he's in incredible pain.
Halebop: can you tell me more about the house binders that you do? Can you post pics? I do have a binder with all our investment info and statements but I believe that yours is more complete.
Still looking for a black bookcase for my new "library" but having trouble finding one. |

Chris, I will post the recipe on next week's thread. I ended up not making it because I didn't realize I was out of eggs. I so need to make it to the store tomorrow. The cupboards are bare. We're supposed to get snow tomorrow so hopefully I can get there before it hits. I hope you and Denise feel better! And the needle in the eye...wow, I don't know if I could do that. I've become very squeamish in my old age!
Tracey, wow, how is it possible that Beau is old enough to eat spaghetti? It seems like he should still be on formula!
Enjoy the weekend and stay safe and warm everyone! |

Good morning ladies! I'm sitting here drinking my coffee, soaking up some quiet time before anyone else gets up.
Tracey - I hope you took pics of that baby eating spagetti! What a great scrapbook page!
Chris - I went on Tuesday for a follow up appointment to my lasik surgery and the doctor wanted to put plugs in my tear ducts. He used a tool that looked just like my piercing tool that I use for scrapbooking to try and open up my tear ducts to get the plug in! Hurt like heck! He did get one plug in (on my left eye) but the right eye he never could get the plug in.... only after numerous attempts at poking me! By the time I got home the left I was so red I could hardly stand it! The plug wasnt in good (I evidently have small tear ducts!) and was scratching my eye. I used my tweezers and pulled it out! (to the dismay of DH &DD) It was the tinyest little thing... not much bigger than a grain of salt!
Denise - could you come to Texas and help me organize my scrap room? I just cant get started! I'm a
"sticker". I stick stuff here and there!
Maggie - I'm so glad I have started back to working out... just wished it wasnt so dang early! 5 am workout is a killer. I get up at 4:10 to get there. The instructor is starting a 6 am class but I'm not sure it will work on the days that I have the baby.
Chris - I'm also fighting the head crud! I have a sinus infection and a ear infection. Another reason my coffee feels so good... the warmth on my throat is soothing. Have you ever used a neti pot? I have used it the last two nights and it has helped, but by the morning my head is all closed up again.
I posted pics of Kinsley on FB yesterday (still cant figure out how to do that here). She is getting soooo big! I just love that little thing sooo much!
Well I better get off of here and get my day started! Have a awesome day Ya'll!
