I wanted to be a teacher. Then i got sidetracked and started playing basketball and wanted to go to college on a basketball scholarship and study something easy. So I got a degree in Secretarial Science because i could type and take shorthand like nobody's business. After a while i decided I didn't want that as a career, and went back to school and became a teacher! Been teaching 21 years now and love it.

The President of the United States or a Las Vegas Showgirl.
Little did I know being a Las Vegas Showgirl would knock you out of the running for leader of the free world, but it sure was fun. However, since my knees were danced into the consistency of strawberry jelly, I went back to school (degree number 3, sigh.) and am now a nurse, taking the NCLEX a week from tomorrow. Now, I'm a sahm, which is funny because I swore I'd never be a mom. And I swore I wouldn't be a sahm until two hours after my ds was born and the drugs wore off so I could really see him. lol

I wanted to be a teacher. Went to college for 3 years with that goal until I took photography as an elective and fell head over heels in love with it. Forget teaching! I had to have this as a career. This was back in the 1980's.
I became a professional photographer although for the last 10 years I took 6 years off to homeschool my son and 4 years off because of a chronic illness.

I wanted to be a midwife.
I *am* a childbirth educator and a doula. I went back to school to become a nurse-midwife, then realized I really did not want to do the nurse thing, so then was briefly a student midwife (to be a direct-entry midwife). I postponed that do to the time it took me away from my young kids.
Since then I've been a scrapbook store manager, 911 operator/dispatcher, and am now registering patients in a local ER. No plans to go back to school for midwifery.
And above all, I wanted to be a mom. Which I am.

I wanted to be a teacher or a nurse growing up. Then in high school I spent a lot of time at the dr's for stomach issues and found an interest in being an xray tech. Halfway through college I met and married the love of my life and started a family shortly thereafter.
What am I now? I am a military wife, mother of three, cake decorator and photographer. Not at ALL where I was headed when I started. In fact I've become quite the germaphobe so doctor offices and hospital completely freak me out. LoL
As a cake decorator I love taping into my creative side and making beautiful edible art that make people smile. As a photographer I love capturing those special moments for people to treasure forever.

I couldn't decide between being a nurse or a teacher.
I went to nursing school and hated it.
As soon as I was done with nursing school I went back and got my degree in elementary education.
I taught for a few years. Loved it.
Now I'm a SAHM. When the kids are older and I go back to work I'll return to teaching.

I got back to school and changed my major to pharmacy and never looked back.
I knew I wanted to be a mom, and actually told my friend in high school that I wanted 3 girls. LOL! I am the mom to 3 girls whom I got to stay homed with nearly full time until they hit jr. high and then I went back to work part-time (3x10 hrs weekly). I also knew I wanted a good husband, father and partner, and I found a really good guy.

I wanted to be an airline pilot, before they let girls be airline pilots.
Instead I became a M&F Counselor. Then I decided I'd rather be rich so I started a multinational manufacturing company, sold that after 15 years, and now split my time between two non-profit organizations. One in the US that provides a residential/work facility for young adults with autism, and one in Israel that promotes peace in the Middle East between Muslims, Jews and Christians, through dance.

when I was a kid I wanted to be all kinds of things, but always figured I'd be some sort of artist (that's just the household I grew up in). When I was in high school I wanted to be a journalist and freelance photographer and was into theater.

I like both jobs.
