Typically, I'll carry-on to my destination, because it would be much more difficult to replace things away from home. However, I frequently check my bag on the way home, and it's lovely to just have my purse/tote to worry about. If the bags do get lost/delayed, I'm not nearly as concerned with it on my way home. However, I make sure anything I can't live without comes on the plane with me.

This is me. I like packing light, less to keep track of wherever I am, but I am less concerned about waiting for my stuff when I am at home vs at my destination. I also won't check if I have connecting flights with layovers, bigger chance of something to get lost, than a direct flight. |
