A young girl that we know was accepted into the Delta Delta Delta Sorority.

I want to congratulate her without sounding like a dork.

Do I congratulate her for: joining
being accepted into
becoming a

any help appreciated. I would like to retain my cool factor with her and NOT sound like her mom!

Thanks! Does "pledging" mean you are in or that you want to be....

please forgive my ignorance on this!

Tell her congratulations on the beginning of a lifetime of sisterhood!

(From a Tri Delt who still has close friends from my collegiate years!)

If she was accepted, it means she got a bid to pledge - she is not a member yet.

I think you could just say congrats on geting a bid or on deciding to pledge.

Thanks Angie, benem and Peabay, she is like a daughter to me. She is at Emory University in Atlanta and wanting to become a lawyer. She is a really amazing young lady and I see great things in her future. When I met that scruffy, scrawny little 2nd grade girl, I knew there was something special about her. Twelve years later and she just keeps amazing me!

Another Tri-Delta here. I'd send "a bundle of silver, gold and blue wishes as you pledge Tri-Delta and look forward to the many new friendships and experiences that await!"
