Am I the only one disappointed by the quality of the Project Life albums? One of my daughters pulled my 2012 Clementine off the shelf and broke the rings right open. I couldn't repair it and ended up buying a new one.
From day one the rings don't line up exactly and snags on the page protectors, even though it's advertised as interlocking to avoid snags.
My question for the Peas- If you're using the Seafoam Edition this year what album are you using? I like the quality of the WRMK albums, but can't seem to find a color that matches with the colors of the edition. Does anyone have the new Seafoam binder? How is the quality on this round?

Anyway they were very visible since its a glossy surface maybe that sounds picky , but that's me. I use an AC album. The cute Amy Tan one with cameras on the front !

I'll be changing out my Clementine binder later this year too, the corners at the spine are wearing out. I'll be switching to a WRMK Orange Soda.
As for Seafoam, what charcoal, buttercup or aqua? Orange soda could work too.

I splurged and bought the "official" Seafoam album. It seems to be of good quality so far.
ETA: I also have one from three or four years ago (Project 365?) and it's OK, but not as good as the new one.

I bought the seafoam album and so far it is ok, but of course it is rather new. There is a little indentation on the cover, but I figure I will be hard on it anyway, so I am not too concerned about that. I am not crazy about the shininess of it, but thats not a flaw but rather a matter of taste. I have had a page catch a little on the binder, but then it slid over. We shall see what I think in a few months.

I have WRMK aqua and it doesn't really match. I'm using it for now and figure I will change it out at some point.

I used the Clementine albums for PL 2012 and one started splitting at the corners and another one's ring broke and would not line up correctly, rendering it basically unusable.
So yes, I am more than a little disappointed with the durability of these albums.
I replaced all 3 with WRMK aqua albums and this year I'm using grape soda. I don't think you'll be able to talk me into a BH album again.

I have a Clementine binder from last year filled to the brim with 12x12 layouts and I haven't had this issue... yet.
Off to go check it out!

I thought I was the only one. I have returned a few due to large scratches and dents (large enough to cut through the first layer of material of the cover). Pretty disappointed and surprised given all that I had heard. Luckily their customer service was good and always replaced them. Now I'll plan on another brand unless the new ones through American Crafts are better. Before I do, I'll check it out in person though.

I checked the Amazon site and I can't tell if the Seafoam binder is made by American Crafts. It doesn't mention that. But the Clementine says it's made by WRMK. I wish it were the same quality as their leather albums, those have been outstanding.
I'll have to look into the charcoal WRMK album. I think that would match the best.
I'm glad I'm not alone. I love the Project Life system, but wish the albums would hold better. It seems as if many designers are spliting their year into two albums for the bulk/weight. That's just too many albums for me. Two PL a year, plus one or two of my family "traditional" scrapbooking? My shelves are already full.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

This is one of the main reasons I decided to go with black AC cloth albums for my PL binders. The cloth doesn't show as much wear and tear and if it does end up breaking it is cheap to replace.
The other reason is that I like the idea of all of my PL albums matching from year to year.

I have two PL binders and they both sit up in my closet. I used one to hold extra cards that I can easily flip through and see everything that is available. Then I can pull one out when I need to use it. But I dont' think it would hold up with all the weight and the wear and tear I put on my PL album.
I'm a plain jane and bought the WRMK black leather album. I love it. It's durable and defintiely gets its use. My only complaint is that after a lot of opening and closing the clasps, they don't fit quite right back together and I am constantly having to put my pages back on the rings. It could just be that I got a bad one too. I ordered more this week so I will have to see if the new ones give me that trouble as well.

I am using Seafoam. After looking at the colors of Seafoam on Elise's blog (the designer, I looked at the colors of the WRMKers albums. I decided to go with the charcoal color. I love the quality of WRMK and the charcoal is perfect IMHO.

I have the new seafoam binder it's my first ever binder from Becky and so far so good! No complaints and everything works good! You do know that WRMK makes the new becky Higgins PL binders so I'm assuming that even if you bought a WRMK leather binder it would be the same quality as the seafoam binders! I do believe last year they might have been made by a different company so maybe that's why or you could have just gotten a bad one! Either way I think there pretty good quality especially for the price!
