So, here's hoping this is a more permanent home for this challenge thread.

A few weeks back I posted on the General Scrapping forum before realising General Stamping was classed as the "cardmaking" forum.

In the hopes of attracting more cardmakers, I'm moving the challenge thread over here where it hopefully won't get lost too easily.

If there are any cardmakers out there who fancy a bit of a relaxed challenge this year aimed at getting you to make at least one card a week then I'd love it if you joined in with the prompts I post each Monday on my blog. I ran this challenge last year as a bit of fun plus it meant I could put some of the lovely pins I'd accumulated on Pinterest to good use too!

The full details are here but in a nutshell the prompts may be 3 random items picked from the prompt jar, photo inspiration, design elements or themes, an existing card design to use as a sketch, or a colour prompt.

Also this year I'm trying to make an additional Christmas card based on each prompt as I really do not want a repeat of Christmas 2012 and the great Christmas card drought! I need to be much better prepared!

If you want to join in then it'd be lovely if you'd share your cards in this thread.

We're now onto week 5 and the prompt is live and can be found in this post. It's a sketch week so should be nice and adaptable for this week's Christmas card.

I really hope you'll join in!

I love card sketches, definitely will try to create both a regular card and then starting 2/1 I will use the sketch to do a Christmas card and combine that with the Christmas All Year challenge where I said I would make 5 per month this year.

Thanks very much for the challenge!

Here's my main card for this week. I needed to get a baby girl card made so decided to cut into some relatively new papers in my paper box...

Not sure how easy it is to see, but the two zigzag papers are cut so that the zigzag pattern continues. Also I am still very much addicted to making vellum sleeves for things, who knew that vellum stockpile I banished to the back of my stash cupboard all those years ago would get a reprieve!

Ive been wanting to do this since the beginning of the month so I have a little catching up to do.

My scrap area is currently undergoing a major organisational overhaul and school starts back tomorrow and we still dont have everything we need so hopefully on the weekend I can sit down and make lots of cards!

I bet you are really looking forward to reclaiming your craft space and stash!

Don't stress out too much about catching up, just jump in where you can.

Here's the Christmas card I made with this week's prompt:

Not one of my favourites, but it'll do. The greeting is inside the glassine envelope so it's a bit more interactive than my usual ones...

I am trying to work on this now! I hope I will complete them tonight so I can photograph them tomorrow, which would be on time. Hoping to do the regular one and a Christmas one!

Here is a card I came up with.

Silhouette Floral Love Card

I had some trouble with the sketch until I decided to make the background using two cuttlebug folders instead of two patterned papers. I simplified the sketch just a bit, but was happy with my end product. I didn't end up getting a Christmas card done.

Thanks so much for the prompt!

Just commented on your card - really nice job with the sketch. I also loved the combination of two embossing folders together.

Week 6 is live and can be found here here.

It's inspired by my weekend stash reorganization.

Will be back later to share my card on the thread.

Yes, it was all the result of a reorganization and pruning of my patterned paper collection.

I seem to be one of those people who get to a point where they just can't take mess/clutter/too much stuff any longer and need to have a mammoth reorganization session to sort it out. LOL I don't do things by halves!

But it has meant re-discovering certain papers and seeing new potential for mixing and matching and of course making more space for the odd new item...

Here's the card I made for the main prompt:

I'll share my Christmas card tomorrow probably - in the meantime I'm off to admire what arrived in the post today.

And here's the Christmas card for this week - more of an October Afternoon revival. I finally used up those candy cane stickers too! Hurrah!

I LOVE your cards. Especially the candy cane inspired one!

This week I was able to get a Christmas Card in. I am doing a Clean and Simple class, so that is evident in this card. I did use VERY old stamps and pretty old paper.

C&S Christmas Card

Thanks for the prompt!

I wanted to mention that our Winterfest challenge is starting Saturday. If you wanted to turn your weekly prompt into a Winterfest challenge (and/or participate in any of the other challenges), that might be fun. You would need to do a challenge blog and separate thread here at TwoPeas. All the info to set these up is in the Winterfest threads. Winterfest Master Thread Just an idea if you want!

Thanks Heidi, that's so nice of you to say.

Re Winterfest - unfortunately time's a bit short at the moment as it's busy times at work. But I was hoping to pop in and see what fun is happening if and when get the chance.

I tried to check out your card link but getting server errors on 2Peas when trying to view the gallery today... ho hum...

Will try again later.

The Week 7 prompt is live - and rather apt for this week.

I went with Clean and Simple again as I needed to make my card as flat as possible for sending to Poland for my auntie's birthday. And a nice excuse it was to try out the new chipboard alpha from Basic Grey's True Love line plus some new papers from Elle's studio.

Just popping in to share the link and makes for week 8's colour prompt which can be found here.

This past week has been a real busy time at work with little time in the evenings to keep up with everything else going on, thank heaves the weekend is almost here! I need a bit of crafting therapy to get me back to normal.

Anyway, I had a play with some "new" papers from Crate and my ever faithful typewriter die and stamp set from MFT, I use this set so much - just love it!

And my Christmas card using up some scraps of MME paper and some other cardstock pieces that went to good use on a card rather than ending up in the bin. Love that shade of red from Bazzill cardshoppe, fantastic cardstock for cardmakers, just soooo difficult to get in the UK (and would cost an arm and a leg to buy from the States):

I finally started the challenge! I've been so busy lately and my scrap area still isn't fully organised but I really want to play and I think I'll try for 2 challenges per week and I'll be caught up in no time.

I loved the pin that was the inspiration for week 8 so I started there. I think the card is missing something but not sure what. Here it is:

Really lovely card, I forgot to ask whether the label was a die and stamp and if so who are they by?

Nat>>> Thank you!! I absolutely loved your card for this challenge!! The label is a sticker from an old set I got in a grab bag type thing. It's the Remarks by American Crafts journalling stickers. I think it's called "Engaged".

The dress form, tape measure and sentiment are from a stamp and die set by MFT called "Sew Nifty". I love sewing so I really love that set.

I made another card for week 8 which l'll upload later. Once I add them to my blog I'll be able to embed them in the post.

OK I'm still having problems adding photos directly so here is another gallery link:

Thank you ladies!

I have to say the pin for this week has been one of my all time favourite pins, I would actually love to have one of those trays in my possession!

Yes, it's reminded me I need to use my set of sew nifty stamps and dies on something... who knows there might be a sewing-themed prompt down the line! You have given me an idea.

Just commented on your new card - very nice!

The weekend is approaching and crafty time for me, hoping to round off our month of Valentine's inspired prompts with one last nod to the holiday.

And this week's post is live with the last of the February/love-themed prompts.

Here's the card I made:

Trying to get ahead with my cardmaking this week as I'm away some of this weekend, also have a naughty order of some product hopefully wining its way in the post to me.... so much for the spending ban in February, it has been a rather expensive month in the end!

And my Christmas take on this week's prompt.

A good excuse to try out these holly stamps.

Now just need to get organised and work out what prompt to use on Monday. I'm away this weekend so need to think quick.

Well it has been a bit of a busy week - I've only just managed to catch up with the various things I needed to get done, but at least I have managed to keep up with getting cards made for the prompts.

This week it is all about numbers.

Here are my cards:

First up a card for my very good friend to celebrate her upcoming first ever Mother's Day this Sunday in the UK:

And another excuse to use those same numbers dies on a Christmas card:

I've just today received some new goodies to play with so will be looking forward to making use of them on upcoming prompts. But first I need to do a little organizing to make room for them in their new home!

The Week 11 prompt is live. It's kind of sketch-related, in that I didn't quite have chance to create the sketch in Photoshop but have created a card layout to use as sketch inspiration... if that makes sense.

Anyway, here it is.
