Sorry about the TMI post, but I know there are a lot of mommas out there who have BTDT.
So I lost my mucus plug yesterday. 38 weeks along today. I also had a bit of spotting last night. This never happened (that I noticed) with my last pregnancy. I was induced 2 days before my due date.
Anyway, I know it can be anywhere from hours to weeks after losing it, that people go into labor.
How long was it after you lost your mucus plug before you went into labor?
Just curious what the stats are like. I'm scheduled for a cesarean on the 8th.

I was induced 2 weeks later with the first. With the fourth, I went into active labor within an hour. I don't remember losing it with the middle two. I guess I had both sides of the spectrum!
Best wishes to you as you approach baby day! |

Two weeks and my ob said that was normal!!! I was so excited that it meant something, but maybe it will mean sooner for you.

Never had that happen to me. Induced a couple days before due date on first, and went into labor pretty much on due date with 2nd. Even the water had to be broken with the first, and only broke with the 2nd well into the labor and not long before delivery. |

I lost mine with my first on my exact due date (and was freaked out! I knew about your water breaking but no one had told me about that lovely mess). But I still had to be induced 2 days later.
I don't remember it with the second but it was a pretty quick delivery.

I only have one child, so my experience is limited. I lost mine at 39w and had DS about a week later. |

With this most recent pregnancy I lost mine the week of Christmas and didn't have the baby until 1/11. A week late. |

Didn't notice/lose one with my first two DDs.
With my third it was *very* noticeable, and happened close to three weeks before she was born. |

DD #1 it was 7-10 days prior.
DS #2 was the same day.
DD #3 it happened about a week before.
With all of my children my water broke before I started feeling contractions and realized I was in labor. Also with all of my kids I was dialated 2-4 centimeters for at least a week or two before labor began.
It sounds like you are getting close (or closer!)!!! Yeah!! Can't wait to see your new little sweet pea!

That was too long ago for me to remember but I just wanted to wish you well. I hope your labor & delivery are easy and quick, and that you will soon have a happy healthy baby.
Enjoy this exciting, miraculous time.

With my first dd, I lost it the morning I went into labor. With my second dd, my water broke but I had no contractions. I never noticed losing my mucus plug at all.

Of course I lost my mucus plug with my first pregnancy and had no idea what it was. I lost it Thursday morning and my water broke late Friday evening. She was born Saturday morning. She was a month early, so I wasn't expecting of it. |

3 weeks with DD#1...I was 38 weeks when I lost it and stayed 3 cm until being a week overdue.
Planned section with #2 and emergency section with the twins.
My SIL had her planned section booked for #2 and ended up going into labour on her own 2 days prior.
I will pray for you that you hold out until the planned day. So much easier...

With DS #2 I never lost it. I had a planned c-section at 39 weeks.
With DS #1 I lost it at 27 weeks. Luckily things went well thanks to the hospital staff and he wasn't born for another 10 weeks.
However, I did learn that you can lose and then regenerate a new mucus plug. And then lose it again. How delightful, huh? |

I always went into labor within a couple days, if not just that day!
How exciting! Are you hoping this means labor is starting or are you hoping to make it to the 8th?
Good luck either way |

It was three days after losing it that I went into labor. I had an appointment with my OB/GYN two days after I lost it and he was like "That doesn't really mean anything. You might not go into labor for two more weeks." I proved him wrong and went into labor the next day! LOL! |

A couple of weeks prior for my first, I actually freaked and called on thinking I was having a miscarriage...yeah, at 38 weeks, spotting isn't a miscarriage! I'd had several and was just so freaked it never occurred to me.
Didn't lose it with my second, but she was early and the whole thing was weird.
Happy birthing thoughts- it won't be long now!

Ariana- part of me hopes I will go into labor, like today, because I am so uncomfortable. Logistically, babysitter and DH's work schedule works out better if he stays in there until the 8th. I am also getting a pedi and haircut the day I am having surgery, since surgery isn't until 5 and I can't eat all day. I've scheduled fun distractions, so it would be nice to get to do those things also. |
