Still organizing here.
I have quite a few folders...Tim Holtz, doodlebug, Anna Griffin (yay!)
Looking for a nice, compact way to store them upright, maybe, file-like.
Do you have a good way to store your embossing folders???
Thanks for all of the help that everyone is offering! I have gotten some great ideas! |

I store mine in DVD cases. You can see them in my gallery beside the Expedit in the 01/12 photos. I love having them right beside my table, the spines are labeled so it is easy to find the one I want. I also have dies this way and unmounted stamps on the bottom shelf sorted by category. I bought a case of 100 on Amazon for $20 and I still have about 20 left for future additions, will just need a bigger bookcase! |

I keep mine in a photo box that I got at Hobby Lobby a few years ago. It is that clear white plastic and looks like a recipe file box that holds regular size index cards. Holds the regular size embossing folders perfectly. I will probably get a 5x7 version when I start buying the bigger folders. |

I was storing them in a 3 ring binder in the DVD sleeves which I really like until I bought a couple of the carry all caddies from 31. The embossing folders fit in there perfectly & are so easily accessible |

I use DVD cases standing in a photo box. Each case has an example of the embossing folder so I can see it, it covers the front and the spine.

I plan to store store them in a cd box from Ikea. The cheap cardboard one. I have cd/dvd sleeves from Office Depot that I'll put each on in and label so it's easier to find. |

Not sophisticated at all, but right now they're in a shoe box. Literally a card board shoe box from the shoe store. It's more narrow than the photo boxes, so they are held more tightly than the photo box. I keep them in the closet, so I haven't been concerned about how un-pretty it is.
However, it's stuffed full and my first shipment of AG folders just arrived yesterday & I need to make more room. |

Mine are in a decorated box, much like a photo box, that I got at HomeGoods for about $4. It's just slightly bigger than a photo box and I love it because it also fits my Cuttlebug plates. I store everything upright so I can just flip through them.
I also have a small empty plastic container (I'm pretty sure it's the bottom of a baby wipe container) in the box that holds my small metal dies so they don't get lost.
Along the long side of the box, I can lay the longer metal dies (like the PTI rickrack die) and they fit perfectly.

I put mine in CD envelopes.
I got the idea from Aryne Kelly here on 2 peas.
It works great for me. I have both my embossing folders and thin dies stored this way.
I have a video to better understand how I did this.

I have mine in a Itso storage bin from T. All stand up nicely to flip through. And it holds all the sizes.
I also store my larger Cuttlebug dies in the bin as they are about the same size.
It sits on a shelf below my Bigshot and E. All of my dies and cartridges are on shelves below my Bigshot and E. In Itso bins.
The cabinet is a recycled baby changing table. Dresser sized with 2 drawers and 2 shelves below. The doors came off long ago, (I have 3 boys ) and now a curtain covers the opening. OK, more info than you asked for |

I have a very large collection of embossing folders. I store mine in photo box, with the turned side ways. I have them all sorted alphabetically so I can find them easier and put them away. Using a sharpie, I wrote the name of the die on the front of the folder and then added a piece of clear tape over it so it doesn't rub off.
I also took the time and made a tag with the design for each one with the folder name, size and manufacturer name on the back of the tag. I have these hanging from large Binder rings so when I am not sure what pattern I want to use, I can flip through these and find one I like, go to my box and pull out the folder to use. easy peasy ....
I find I use my embossing folders a lot more now since I took the time to do this. Now when I get a new folder, the first thing I do is emboss the design on a tag for my ring and add it on.
Hope this helps some of you. |

I used to use a Sterilite container.
Now I use a half pint binder and MS page protectors from Staples. Takes up a fraction of the space on my shelf and it is easier for me to find what I need. |

Don't you love those MS binder sleeves? I use them for my spellbinder type dies, too.
I don't understand why you put embossing folders in DVD cases? Seems like it would take up a ton a space.

I'm too cheap to buy a shoebox , I use an old baby wipe container with no lid. I also did the tag idea on the ring with the title of the folder- makes it SO much easier to grab that and flip through for inspiration.

just ran across this great ideal.
I think that I am going to change to this system because it will hold the bigger embossing folders as well as the regular size.
