I was just organizing pages and putting layouts away into scrapbooks, when I noticed how very few Christmas layouts I have over the years.
I love Christmas! It's one of my favorite times of the year. I have tons of pictures + lots of great stories to document. And yet it seems that once the Christmas tree and decorations come down, I'm totally done with the season. Can't even stand to look at the supplies. So there are very few pages of one of the best times of the year.
Are there seasons that you are so over you never get to? |

I am like you - when Christmas is all done and put away, I tend not to think about it anymore! I can't say that it's missing from my layouts, though - I'm fairly new to scrapping and have only done a few LOs, except for my wedding scrapbook. I have a lot of Christmas papers and stuff, so hopefully one day I'll get around to using them!
Perhaps you could resolve to bring out your Christmas papers in July. When you are hot and miserable, maybe you can be inspired to think about cold, cozy Christmas!

I love Thanksgiving but never remember to take pictures so it is usually missing from my scrapbooks. I find Easter too hard to scrapbook because there are so many "events" going on in that 24 hours and I don't want to do multiple pages...
I have certain months where I really need to remember to take pictures (November is one of them and January is not much better) even if nothing is going on.

I realized earlier this year that I am probably missing msot of 2011 until my son was born in December. I have a few ultrasound photos and a couple photos here and there of me pregnant (maybe three at most!) but I had morning sickness so bad I really didn't go anywhere or do anything for over six months. And my lack of photos proves it! So there won't be many LO's for me when I get to the point of going back and doing them. I do already have a few about my son though, but all are from the last two weeks of December! |

Well in the sense of a seasons with a change of weather...Winter, cold, snow, frost, cool temperatures! I just printed a 83deg screenshot for my PL. Second in line is Christmas, I have not done a page since 2007. No idea why I have lots of photos, maybe because I take 300 of boys ripping the paper open and nothing else. |

I'm missing big pieces in 2011, but I was working nights, going to school full time & doing clinicals during the day, living in a camper because our town flooded, etc.

I forget to take pictures on Thanksgiving so I don't scrap it.
I also have noticed that as a family, we take very few photos between Christmas and Easter, unless there's a rare snow storm. So my albums usually jump from Christmas layouts to Easter layouts.

I don't really scrap many holidays at all. I think it's because I don't like to do themed pages and most holidays are really asking for themed papers - especially christmas |

Not a big holiday scrapper, but I try to get at least one layout done. Like you, I am bad about Christmas. I do a DD album each year, so the season is scrapped, just not in an album in layout form. I am usually done with Christmas and the supplies by the time I have edited actual Christmas photos. |

The "indoor" season is the time when I take less photos, so it is the "season" that is usually missing or gets less billing in my albums. Even when I do take photos of our indoor activities, they are not my favorites and so they get pushed to the back of the to-scrap pile. It's a sad truth. |

I am with Madeline on this one. The first few months of the year rarely get scrapped. We don't do much. We are cooped up in the house from the cold, cruddy, snowy weather. I am not an winter person. I think I take a few photos of my son playing in the snow each season and that is about it. I don't scrap in order anymore. So there are a lot of "holes" in my books.

I've never scrapped Easter. I've never had any good stories to go along with it.
I also had a six month gap whilst pregnant with my first child in 2007 when I threw up every time I saw the camera. I have one photo from that period. I've filled in a few spaces with non-photo and ephemera based layouts. I also pulled some photos not from that time period that I could use to illustrate the time.
I also have no documentation that I was ever pregnant with my second child... at least until he was born. |

I have seasons missing, years, holidays, etc. I do whatever I feel like and have photos for.
"Have photos for" is a big obstacle for me. I do not have a color printer and do not print photos at home. And I am bad about uploading and printing photos. So when I do: it's a big batch at once and then a photo drought for a LONG time.
I need to get better at photo management and printing, etc. |

Thanksgiving and NYE. For the past 2 years the only pictures I've had of these two events are the dining room table set up and decorated. Zero pictures of people on these events.

I have an issue with Thanksgiving. I have years of albums with nothing for this holiday.
I think part of the problem is we don't have fall here in Florida so while I do love fall, it just passes me by each year because of the weather! The last two years has something though, I have made it a point to have something "fallish" in my albums so I can justify the pretty paper expense! |

No, I scrap chronologically, so this isn't a problem for me. And I take so many pictures all the time, so I have pictures for all the holidays.
However, there are whole years missing from my scrapbooks, because I haven't gotten to them yet. |

Fall style layouts. In southeast Texas, it's still hot, and the leaves don't turn until late December, drop in early January so it's hard to feel "seasonal". Other than pumpkin patch pics, I don't end up with a lot to document.
We like to joke we have Summer 1, Summer 2, Summer 3, and January.

I don't think I have missed any seasons but summer is certainly my favorite season and it shows in my albums. I think we just do more, take more photos then and because the photos are outdoors, the photos ususally turn out nice.

So I'm not alone. I have this huge pile of OA Holiday Style from last year and it's just sitting there. Love it, but I guess I'll put it away for another year.
I don't scrap chronologically at all, so I get the holes too. I just don't think I'll ever get back to Christmas 2010 (even though we went skating at Rockefeller Center for the first time). I think I have a post Christmas mental block.
Now summer, that I have documented and documented... |

I am chuckling a little about folks not having Thanksgiving layouts...I probably have more layouts of Thanksgiving than any other holday/season! We spend it on a different out-island in the Bahamas each year (don't hate!) Our meal is usually conch, local lobster, corn, taters, sausage all boiled beachside and eaten around a fire on the beach. Traditional Thanksgiving papers don't go well.....
On the other hand, I have NO Easter. I didn't start scrapping until my kids were in early 20s, so no cute Easter photos at all. I haven't started going back in time yet, but I am sure I will eventually pull out some OLD Easter photos one day.
Edited to add: I just uploaded a photo of our most recent Thanksgiving 'dinner' that I just scrapped this month. Still eneds a few finishing touches.

I have never scrapped chronologically until now with PL.
So I would always skip to events that only had one or a few photos, because they were faster and easier for me to complete.
So I basically have very few birthdays, holidays, or vacations scrapped! |

If you consider 2008-2012 a season, then yes!
I love seasonal papers (esp. Christmas!). A good way to start is to think of this hint from GG (or was it Shimelle), "let go of the idea that the colors of your supplies have to match your photographs."
In one 2Peas video she uses Christmas paper to do a non-Christmas LO. Does anyone remember that video? |

That would be why I scrap chronologically. I also have a set of books that I do not scrap chronologically, and I can't say for sure that those have all four seasons in them, but in those books the emphasis was in trying new techniques with duplicate and bad photos. In the chronologically scrapped books, the emphasis is on keeping the memories, and I would be so afraid I would miss something if I didn't have a chronologically based plan for that.
I have to say chronologically-based because I know that I have a bunch of photos to scrap from Dec. 18 through Dec. 30 to scrap, and those will be scrapped before I move on to 2013, but not necessarily in order. I spent Dec. 20-26 with my GKs, and scrapped a few photos of DGS with stash, and will be scrapping one ore of him soon with stash. Then buying a little more stash and scrapping the more "holiday" photos, starting with Dec. 18. |

Mine would be Christmas, right now...last year my Mom died & I couldn't bring myself to scrap it even though we took pics( we played Minute to Win it: we all needed to refocus on something else) and while going through pics from this year I realized I didn't do 2010.
We are usually in Florida over Easter so I have hardly any Easter pics. |

Thanks to Stacy Julian's Library of Memories system, it's easy to see just how well one does on the holidays and the seasons, which are distinct I might add.
Autumn > Thanksgiving.
I have done pretty well. I tabled Christmas layouts for a few years, but I have actually scrapped all of my Christmas years this month, I simply need to add journaling and titles.
I really like LOM because you CAN quickly see what shape you are in for New Years, Valentines, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. |

Okay, I felt guilt about all the Christmas photos I take and have yet to scrap a Christmas LO...so I finally made a Christmas LO. In all fairness it is Christmas 2010 and chose it to make up because I already had a clear idea what i wanted to do with it (and had it set aside for the last 2 years to do....). I am really pretty pleased with it! (Yes I uploaded!)
