I was wondering if any of you lovelies could sway me one way or the other with the Eclips or Cameo. I've done some research online but they don't compare the two very
much. I know that the Eclips is able to cut chipboard where the Cameo is not but other than that I'd like to hear your pros and cons. TIA!!!

The Cameo DOES cut chipboard! I've cut all different types with great success. Also- Silhouette just released their own chipboard at CHA! I have a pack and ill try and cut it tomorrow. I'm sure it will work well since they created it to their specs. $10 for 25 12x12 sheets. Good deal I think to have it all the same density , etc.
as far as the machine goes -I'm a Silhouette girl all the way! The optic eye it has for print and cuts is unbelieveable! To do a print and cut on the e clips looks like a pain. I know u can use software with the eclips but if not then its cartridge based. Not for me. Love the silhouette software. Fun fun fun! it's also a lot mess expensive than the e clips.

It can cut chipboard...see now you have my attention . I'm aware of the price difference but my thought is that if I'm going to spend that kind of money on a machine I just want to get the machine that can do the most and is going to suit my needs a year or two from now KWIM? Thank you all for the reviews!

I had both and prefer the Eclips. I think that it cut consistently well. With the Cameo I would have to recut some items. Also, I like to run my card stock through my Xyron before cutting and the Eclips did a better job with this.

I like the Eclips blade mechanism better.

What sold me on the Eclips was the option for cartridges or the computer. I have a laptop but there isn't lots of room for it on my scrapbook desk. With my Eclips I can cut basic stuff with my cartridges (I think I have 4) but I can pull out my laptop and cut other stuff. I figured out how to cut cricut images and silhoutte images with my ecal, so I'm very happy.
I get excellent cuts on my Eclips and I think it cuts smaller items better than my cricut would have ever done.

If you think you will be buying some designs rather than just making your own designs for everything, then check out both the Silhouette store and the eClips cartridge designs.

I didn't care for the eClips designs. If I were to buy one or the other of these two machines, it would probably be the Cameo.
