I use to just buy paper - cause I was too cheap to splurge on the embellishments. Now, I buy them all or mostly all of them. I bought all of the MME collectables, and the my girl and I averaged $40 on all each --- not to bad IMO |

I pick and choose but spend majority on paper. I'll buy some embellishments but I find it harder to mix and match them with other collections and end up having them leftover. |

Lucky you.. I bought the entire mme girl collection every piece and it costed me around $65 .. I need to learn to shop better lol.. If I really like a collection I will buy the entire line, I used to think that I couldn't use products or create a project without having to buy each piece in every line. Well thankfully I learned to scrapbook by incorporating all different lines together! So now I find myself purchasing a little bit from each, unless its a line I really love then i tend to splurge and get it all! Thank goodness I don't like every line lol |

As a new scrapbooker and "coincidently" (it really is just councidence ) having just stumbled into this during CHA I'm having a hard time not buying an entire collection. So far I've back tracked a tad bit and have purchased CP's "On Trend", Heidi Swapp's "Sugar Chic" and have quite a few on my list from CHA with MME's "My Girl" being one of them. I can already tell this is going to be a bit of a problem |

I used to buy entire collections but found I got sick of them before I used it all. Now I buy 5-7 sheets of paper and 2-3 packs of various embellishments. Works much better for me.

I'll always get the paper with collections I like, with embellishments I usually just go through them and decide which ones I really like and/or use and then decide that way. I almost never buy a full collection.

I have a hard time using the embellishments sometimes because they don't fit the theme of my layout. I wish they would be more generic.

I set a new personal record yesterday - $24 on the MME Lost and Found 3 collection. I bought 14 papers and the 3-pack of washi tape. I was going to get enamel dots too, but the pack I wanted sold out. I may pick up some of the other embellishments if they're on sale next time I place an order.
Usually my spending is under $20 per collection. I don't buy entire collections. I'll buy between four and ten pieces of paper and a pack of embellishments or two (sticker sheet, buttons, transparencies, washi) IF I think they are priced reasonably and I think they are versatile. If I don't like the embellishments I just get the paper and supplement with embellishments from my stash or handmade embellishments.
One thing I have never purchased is a stamp set to match a collection. I think a lot of the stamps produced by SB manufacturers to match a specific line are not as high quality as the stamps I get from manufacturers like Hero Arts.

I rarely buy entire collections as there is always pieces of paper and embellishments I don't like and I know I won't use. I like to mix and match collections, so I tend to buy everything seperatly and just get what I want. I scrap mainly beach/vacations, so it's easier to do that. |

I tend to stick to the collection packs currently but I don't spend any extra money on embelishments. I just make my own using the paper in the pack and my Cameo! |

I have only bought an entire collection once. It was the Joann's exclusive serendipty and shine on collection. I was in Texas for a wedding and took advantage of the opportunity and figured I might as well buy everything so I am not kicking myself later when I need a little touch of embellishment. I got both lines and it was in sale for 50% off so I probably spent about $70ish. I probably will never buy another entire collection again but only the pieces I really want and will use. |

I used to buy entire collections, but I would never use all of it and I would get bored with using the same stuff so often. Now I just pick and choose what I LOVE and know will use, so I can allocate more $$ to other new items.

It all depends on the collection and the versatility of the embellishments. I also consider the price.
So for example with the new Dear Lizzy collection that's coming, I will likely get every sheet of pp, stickers, vellum, tags, flair, and maybe a set of diecuts. (and thickers of course) That's because I know I will use them all and they are versatile enough. I never get ribbons or fabric stickers because I either don't use them, or I think they are too expensive ($5 for like 4 stickers?? oh hell no!).
With other collections I will cherry-pick and get a few sheets of pp and maybe one set of embellishments, and then supplement the rest from my stash. I have never bought an entire collection of everything though. It's just too much. And since I mostly layer papers I only need those embellishments that a little extra to a page, I don't rely on embellishments to make the entire page, kwim? |

I also don't buy a whole collection, unless I have a specific project for it. I kind of pick and hoose. I wish I had bought more of SS Destination, way back when, though!

I spent $20 on a collection pack of Echo Park at HL last month, but that's high for me because I usually cherry pick at my LSS. The other Echo Park I have (had), I bought some at one LSS and about six months later found more at another LSS and replenished. |

I'll buy all the paper and pick and choose the embellishments. I have no idea what I spend on each collection. I ALWAYS get chipboard if there is some, brads and phrase stickers. |

I typically will buy 3-4 sheets of paper from a collection. So I spend $4-5 maybe?
I don't buy full collection packs because I don't use that much product on my layouts.
I bought BG Blitzen and Fruitcake packs about 5-6 years ago and I *still* have tons of that paper even though I use it a lot. I swear it multiplies over the summer! |

If I really like the collection then yes, I'll buy the whole 12x12 paper collection but not all the embellishments. With embellishments I'll pick and choose, it's rare that I actually love everything. As for the upcoming Amy Tan, Yes Please collection...that may be a different story. I can't wait to get my hands on it!

I don't think I have ever bought a whole collection. I go for a few coordinating pieces of paper and maybe a couple of embellies. I do love looking at whole collections and dreaming, but I know I would never use everything.I think the people that design and put these collections together are very talented!

I like buying collection packs, personally. I often buy a pack and then an extra copy of border and/or journaling papers so that I can use both sides. I also make sure that the alpha and sticker sheets either come with the pack or I add those in separately, too. As far as the extra embellishments, it really depends on the collection - often I don't bother but sometimes I pick up a chipboard set or similar. I really haven't kept track of the cost, since I often buy other items along with the collections.
