I think it's just as much scrapbooking as digi scrapping, so yes! (And I don't do either one of those.)

Pridemom said it best!
Yes. Absolutely yes.
The old magnetic photo albums I used to scrapbook in high school loooong before this was a "real" hobby were scrapbooks too. As are the albums my grandmother put together of her children with photo corners and notes on the backs of photos.
I would argue that my PL is much more of a scrapbook than my regular albums. It captures so much more of life then I would ever be able to document using regular layouts.

passion4scrappin - PL is project life which is scrapping with divided page protectors. Check out Becky Higgins website for more details. It's very popular at the moment!
Is PL scrapbooking - absolutely!

Thanks Stwa. I just googled it. I have never done this style however, after looking at it, that it is a way of scrapbooking. Photos, journals, SB paper, stickers all the same stuff I use for SB I am going to have to say YES.
Becky Higgins ah a SB's name I recognize from when I use to SB.

If you can record your story the way you want to, then it is the absolute real deal.
It's all up to you and what you want.

Of course it is! I don't do PL, but like the look, so I bought some divided page protectors & will occasionally do a PL-style page & add to my scrapbook.

Silly question I know! But I have 4 weeks done and still debating if I like PL.
I love that I am using my stash and I am converting BH core kit tot match my stash. I am having fun!
But it isn't the same as creating a layout, that is why I asked the question.

Sure do. In fact it reminds me of what I used to do with my photos before scrapping became popular and there was hardly anything out there to actually scrap with.

If it isn't scrapbooking, what would it be?
I absolutely think its scrapbooking.

I just checked out BH website to see more detail on what PL. I actually like it. Seems easy and less work which is great for a lot of moms since we all have a lot going on. I think if I was to do any of them it would be baby albums.

I agree that it's streamlined scrapbooking - it's faster and simpler, but you also get to 'think' about it in a completely different way. I'm loving it so far!

@passion4scrappin - I am married with 3 furbabies. I started PL this year because I love to journal but never thought about adding pictures, PL is very similar to a journal but you add photos, really pretty pattern paper and embellishments.

Yes!!! I got some divided page protectors thinking it would be a breeze, but it's more difficult for me to use those and make little creations out of the "unphoto" places than scrapping is!
Admire the neat stuff folks are doing and it's definitely scrapbooking.

It is just a different kind of layout.
I'm a big fan of the PL type scrapbooking. But, I love the little canvases. Great medium for trying something new. If it works, wonderful. If not, I haven't wasted a ton of time and supplies on a failure. The successes end up showing up on the full sized layouts.
Plus, there are a lot of little family stories that aren't worth a full layout. But, they are just perfect for PL.
I enjoy both ways of scrapping. They compliment one another. PL gets the job done, while freeing up time to scrap the special things. Which for me is important, as I take forever to complete a single full-sized layout.

Absolutely! But I still do traditional scrapping too. It's just another way of accomplishing the same memorykeeping goal.
